  • The App lost function & fun

I was excited for the new app but that all has gone away when commuter passes disappeared, I had to buy a new one. Then all of a sudden the pass that disappeared, reappeared and I was charged for a duplicate pass in one month. I am still trying to resolve this but there is no customer service to talk to. The app use to track how many rides you have taken and that gave a sense of pride and loyalty, this function is now gone. The old app had a bank for any credits that were given. I had $15 in credits that are now gone and non recoverable. Be careful with looking at the direction of the arrows for how the train is going because a backwards facing seat might actually be a front facing seat. So far this app cost me $217 for a duplicate commuter pass + $17 ticket that was accidentally charged when my pass had a “hiccup with the app” and $15 in lost credit that was in my “bank”. So in total I am down an extra $249 in excess fees this month in malfunctions of the app. I love the Brightline but this app needs serious help and is a failure so far.
  • Sky high ticket cost, bottom of the barrel app

Stop whenever you’re familiar with the story. Brightline comes to Southeast FL. They offer “premium” and “ smart” train rides from Miami to West Palm Beach (Miami to Orlando by Labor Day weekend). The train cars are nicely designed. The stations have cool lounges and there’s access to some happy hour from Monday through Friday for those wish to attend. Sounds great right? Of course, especially for commuters. Then you download the app which appears to work well up until there’s some recent update released. Now the app is trash. I can’t log into my account to book a commuter pass and parking pass. I go on my iPhones browser and can log in, but I can’t checkout now. On my laptop, I can log in but can’t check out. The odd thing is I can checkout on my phone and laptop if I’m not signed into my account. That defeats the purpose of having an account. Called the contact us on their website and was told to go in person to book it. I said okay cool. I deleted the app because it’s useless. I get to the station and they tell me they can’t book any passes because they don’t gave access to our account since the new update. What. The. ____. The supervisor asks to see me log into the app so I downloaded it again to show the errors. I did the same for my phones browser. Once they saw they decided to book a ticket for me. Meanwhile the train I needed to catch to get to my first day on the day job in time came and went. I ended up being 45 minutes late because I had to drive. If you know south Florida traffic you know why. Today is a new day with the same bull on the app, phone browser and on my laptop browser, so I’m already driving in today. I’ll be on time, but I’m not happy driving in when I planned to take the train. Brightline needs to do better.
  • Sometimes old is better then new.

I was excited when Brightline announced an app update. However that changed quickly when I realized the app doesn’t even support basic functions. Such as I can’t book a trip, I can’t manage an existing trip because for some reason it can’t find my reservation and lastly it won’t send me a password reset for my account. I recommend avoiding the app and book your ticket through the website or in person at the station. Old application worked and functioned way better… why change something that worked?
  • My first review ever

Cannot believe your new app will not store passenger details nor cc info from a previous trip. Loved the last version. Hope your dev team is fixing.

    Developer Response

Hi Jabba_eats, we do store passenger and credit card details. Make sure the "save passenger details" and "save payment details" toggles are selected next time you make a booking.
  • AJC

Updated Brightline App has many bugs presently-

Using correct email address & receiving email confirmations-

However, after booking a trip, am unable to make any changes to trip with app or on computer- Can see my trips after booking them though am unable to edit seats or update trip times- Also unable to access my trip credits/refunds in my Brightline Wallet-

Only way I was able to address this was with Customer Service at WPB station in person- Website/App before update was clunky though functional-

However most of this functionality has been lost with updated App-

Showed Customer Service at WPB Station the issues on my App & they acknowledged are real & not user-error-

Lastly please note your App & Website no longer provide the ability to change password under My Account/Profile settings- Oddly option has disappeared as well-
  • Doesn’t work

If you just need to open your ticket it works fine, but don’t expect it to be reliable when it comes to booking or modifying a trip. It simply doesn’t work. I’ve been stranded at the station more than once because the app showed me a modified trip ticket and when I arrive for the new train time my ticket doesn’t exist.
  • Horrible App!

This app is the worst! I picked a day I need to travel and it keeps changing to the day before! I had to cancel and rebook and it still does that! It constantly shows “no train’s available” for three consecutive days when I’m looking to book! Horrible! Horrible! And it changes prices each time! Worst than the ObamaCare website rollout!
  • New Update is NOT User Friendly

I am not one to complain. This is my very first Apple App Store review. I had previously used the app to book premium tickets and schedule my included Uber rides with no issues. I just booked my first trip since the app update and it has been a nightmare and inconvenient to say the least. I decided it may be easier to book my train ticket on the site instead and was able to book, select my forward facing seat, and book my Uber rides. However, the Uber arrival and departure times as well as the addresses for pick up and drop off were all over the place for my Uber rides. You can’t modify it on the site. I tried to verify and update on the app. You can’t verify your Uber ride. It just allows you to book a new Uber ride to replace the existing one or you can delete it altogether. It stated my train seats were backward facing. I couldn’t update the seats on the app. I ended up having to contact Customer Support via chat and the confirmed that although the app said backward facing my seats were forward facing. The app info was wrong. I spent almost half hour with them verifying my train seats, Uber pick up/drop off times and locations, and asking for screenshots. The entire point of booking Brightline and purchasing premium tickets is to have the convenience of booking the included Uber rides. The app and website are so inconsistent that it has made it virtually impossible to book without contacting Customer Support. The previous version of the app wasn’t the best but it was better that the update.
  • Extremely frustrated!

I have auto renew of a commuter pass and parking pass. With the release of the new app my auto renew is off and I cannot buy new passes. Tech support has been working to solve this for a week. Brightline do better. Fix the issues. Even better don’t release technology that doesn’t work.
  • App is worst than the first one

Can’t see old payment history. It turned my auto renewal off during the switch and now I have to pay for the same pass at a higher prices.
