Unable to Scan Vaccine Card

The app asks to scan my CDC vaccine card using the camera. It says to hold the camera steady and keep the card in the center of the frame. I did this perfectly with good lighting and the app was unable to take the picture/scan. The app creates a blue rectangle around the card as if it recognizes it, but it didn’t automatically take the picture. There was no manual override camera shutter button - perhaps it was below the fold off-screen and therefore inaccessible. I have an iPhone 6 - old yes, but it seems silly that this app wouldn’t work on the more basic tasks.

Currently, printed vaccination records that do not include a QR code, including CDC cards, cannot be processed by our system.

Does not work for SHC issued in Ontario

I need this to travel to Singapore.

Bad privacy & unneeded permissions

They recently updated their app to require location permission for a completely unnecessary reason - checking network connectivity - which can be addressed in much less invasive ways.
And, unlike other privacy-sensitive verifier apps which save a trusted list of issuers to the device, this one sends the name of the person's hospital/issuer to an online service every time you scan a health card. (And due to this, it also can't function offline.)
So, lazy app developers who prioritize easy development over privacy and quality. Not a good fit for anything that handles people's health data.

Why on earth does this require location permission

This app shouldn’t need an internet connection to work (download a list of approved verifiers) much less location access! This is a terrible way of developing this app. Don’t add a dependency on location permission in an update that doesn’t mention that in the patch notes.

As of today, not working with Quebec SMART QR (travel proof not Quebec Vaxicode QR) very stupid system, unsure if problem with Quebec Smart QR issuance or the app. Not looking good for anyone here.

How to sign up out of Canada?

I’m a dual US/Canadian citizen vaccinated in Michigan. I have my cdc card and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services vaccination record. How do I sign up for Smart?? I am in Canada all the time and am worried my paper card will be rejected starting December. The place I got my vaccines does not even know of Smart card as they are a small clinic. Help!

Quebec QR code not recognized

My government issued SMART Health Card QR code is not recognized by the app, I am from Quebec.

Doesn’t work

Who’s the moron who designed this app? I click “scan vaccination record” and it opens what’s supposed to be the camera…yet, there is literally no way to even snap an image!

I hate to be cliché with the “if I could give 0 stars, I would” comment…but, seriously! If I could give 0 stars, I would, because your app doesn’t even work!!!

iPhone 12 mini, if it makes a difference….

“Scan” button not visible

This app does not support Dynamic Type. If your display settings are for medium or large text, the front page will expand to the point where the “Scan” button is cut off and completely inaccessible. Then you won’t be able to interact with the app at all. If you shrink your text size, the app will work as designed. But what a pain. The concept is great and I hope it takes off.
