Excellent app!!!
This was a very accurate and useful app. It gives you up-to-date information on your flight and will let you know about delays, your gate, departures, and you can even check in on it very easily with a reminder, 24 hours before your flight. You can also purchase bags to check in. It works seamlessly with the kiosk when you get to the airport as well and you can print out your baggage claim tickets right from the kiosk. The only thing to be aware, is that the app does not work for in-flight entertainment, if you’re plane is not equipped with in flight Wi-Fi. Some of their planes do not have Wi-Fi, and this was our case flying back-and-forth, but otherwise the app work great on the ground.Show lessApp is buggy
I downloaded the app for my first flight with Hawaiian, and had some issues. The check in didn’t work for us and kept erroring out which was a bit of a bummer. It’s not a huge deal, but the extra half hour waiting in person to check in was a bit inconvenient.
Also, while I was in the middle of my flight I got notifications that my connecting flight was boarding and then that it was preparing for departure. I was very confused and went through my emails checking that I got my flight times correct. It turns out these were just false notifications. I’m guessing those notifications are based on user’s time zone and not whether or not the flight is actually boarding or ready for departure. I think that is a strange choice considering most people are flying in from different time zones.Show lessDeveloper Response
Aloha! We're so sorry to hear that you weren't able to check in to your trip via the app. If possible, would you be able to send an email to HAMobileApp@HawaiianAir.com with your confirmation code and last time? We would like to troubleshoot the check-in issue and the push notification issue you experienced. Mahalo!Hawaiian Airlines Website
I live in Hawai'i so I fly Hawaiian often between islands as well to the mainland. I cringe though every time I go on to their website as it is anemically dysfunctional and sadly one of the worst I've encountered. I've sent a handful of letters with constructive feedback so they may take notice of improvements they can make, at least to be on par with other airlines, but apparently they don't read their emails as nothing has changed.
Living in the islands I've learned that Aloha has far deeper meaning than the greetings it typically bestows on another. It is really the soul of these magnificent islands, and I'm just disappointed that the flag ship carrier of the islands is not living with Aloha, by even simply responding to acknowledge there is an issue with their website and a willingness to at least look in to it.
