  • Powerful photo browser and editor

Came to this from Raw Power and it is first rate. Evokes a lot of the feeling that Aperture did. A nice way to screen photos while traveling.
  • Solid Raw processing

I’ve been a fan of Gentlemen Coders previous app – “Raw Power” to process my raw images for over 10 years. Just heard about Nitro and decided to give it a test. Once I wrapped my head around the new layout, I can see where I like Nitro better. Nitro runs leaner than Raw Power. Raw Power was always the BEST raw processor for the Mac. Nitro adds a fresh quicker build that makes Nitro even more user friendly.

  • Great app with some issues

Bumping down my rating simply because of the constant nagging to rate the app each time opening it. Even though I have the global iOS setting that does not allow this.

The app is great and familiar for anyone who also used Raw Power. There are some annoying issues. Like asking me each and every time I load the app to provide a review even after having purchased and have given a rating. Hopefully now that will stop. The app quits frequently enough either when loading a basic RAW image or while editing. Not always but often enough that it is noticeable. And some of the editing is a bit finicky at times or has screenflow issues making some controls impossible to use unless quitting and reopening the app. That said it is feature packed and available on the phone iPad and Mac. Making it a great way to edit across the ecosystem. Look forward to future updates to help stabilizing things a little more.

  • Keeps getting better!

This has become my go-to editing app: quick, capable, sensible!!!
  • Highly recommended

This is my third review of Nitro, after several months of use. I had been using RAW Power as my primary editor for several years, so it was natural for me to jump to Nitro.

I loved it from the beginning. Nik knows his stuff when it comes to photo and editing apps. If I remember correctly, he headed the Apple team that developed ProRaw, and headed the development team for Aperture. Follow that with RAW Power and an impressive resumé exists.

I signed on as a Beta tester, and liked what I found well enough to give Nitro a 5-star review early on. Nik has been kind and responsive to my reports and suggestions. Nitro grows better with each revision.

So, once again, I wholeheartedly report that Nitro deserves that 5-star rating and I repeat it here.

Try it out. You'll be glad you did. I think you will buy it.

  • Great Potential

I love the potential of the app... notable features are the ability to connect with the Photos library seamlessly but then also to work on photos stored in system folders (Finder). Nitro is great for culling a large amount of photos before sending them to the Photos app, thereby reducing the wasted bandwidth/time that would happen if importing direclty to Photos and synchronizing with iCloud. In essence, Nitro can be used "offline" to work on photos locally, rate and edit (delete/keep), make any adjustments needed, and then send the selected originals with all edits preserved to the Photos app. The method of working is a great solution to one of the main limitations of deciding to go all-in with Photos (almost as if Nitro is "Lr Classic" and Photos is "Lr"... but probably better integrated).

  • A must have app for photo editors

I’ve been using Raw Power, on both Mac and iPad for a number of years now. It’s always been my go-to photo editor when I first import from my camera. Now Nitro has come along, it’s evolved well, and brings a better interface, and many more features. I have tried the macOS version, and it’s great, but my primary device is my iPad Pro. Nitro works brilliantly on that, even though it’s a pre-M series. It works with either external Files, or with the Photos Library. I use Photos for my storage, as I can access my photos easily across iCloud, as well as share with family, and Nitro enhances that in so many ways - such as bringing back star ratings, and a kind of smart album setup on iOS. Nitro integrates extremely well with the Photos Library, and enables cross device editing (something missing from many other photo apps, and rarely done as well as Nik manages). Support is also superb, and Nik will endeavour to resolve any issues if possible. This is a must-have photo editor, especially if you use Photos and want a bit more editing power, and should be high on your shopping list of photo editing software. Thanks Nik.

  • Wonderful/Good blance of ease of use and powerful features

This app is very easy to use for quick edits. The suite of presents and automatic tools make most simple edits very, very easy. These tools are much better than the Apple Photos app. The app shines when more detailed and complex editds are needed. These powerful tools are also presented in a straightforward, easy to use way. This app also incorporates new camera RAW formats way sooned than Apple. (I've been waiting for Apple to add RAW support for my camera for coming on two years.). So, Nitro allows you to get the most out of your camera RAW files.

  • Potentially very Good

I was looking for an editor to work with RAW files using the Apple Photos library. This ticks quite a few boxes with a bit of an 'Aperture' feel.
