  • Exif!

The EXIF data Nitro exposes from photos in the Photos Library is really worth the price of the app. I use Fujifilm cameras and now I can see very quickly what Film Mode aka Film Simulation that a photo was shot with. And then of course all the editing tools are there to tweak and reframe photos. And compare mode is so so good with Synchronize pan. Now it's possible to very easily figure out which of a bracketed photo to keep. Finally, I still cannot believe that Apple does not support lossless Fujifilm RAF files! Thank goodness for Gentlemen Coders. So this is indeed a great replacement for RAW Power and I look forward to the future of this app.

  • My go-to app

As an owner of RAW Power, I was one who received an email lfrom Nik, the developer, that Nitro was up and running. I immediately fled here, to the App store, to buy it, the lifetime ownership. I know a good thing when I see one, or use it.

Having known RAW Power, I already knew the expertise, care and support that went into it. Nitro will benefit from the same. I am happy as
    a clam.

Buy it. You'll be glad that you did.

  • The long-awaited update to Raw Power

I had been a frequent user of Raw Power, probably the best-integrated external editor to Apple Photos. However, I had drifted away from it as competitors introduced new features.

This new update thoroughly updates Raw Power for the modern Mac user. Apart from interface updates (some people complain they are not pretty, but by gum they are functional), the addition of masking - which is far more complete than appears at first sight (please Nik - a tutorial on this!) makes this is a fantastic app for most people.

I am really looking forward to the iOS/iPadOS version as this will allow a truly flexible workflow as I had with Raw Power.

You can buy or subscribe as you prefer. Well worth the outlay.

  • A Great Upgrade to Raw Power

After many years of editing in Photos and then several in Raw Power, I attempted last year to move on to Lightroom. I am an amateur photographer, but in retirement have been working on improving my technique. I liked the additional capabilities in Lightroom but missed the ease of Raw Power. Nitro takes the simplicity of Raw Power and adds the capabilities of Lightroom, perfect for me.

  • Terrific Photo Editor

Nitro is an excellent photo editor. It has all the adjustments I use. The user interface is well thought out and easy to use and read. The masking is very good. The fact that it can be used within Apple Photos opens the possibility to use Photos for both organization and editing.
  • Provsional 5 with hopes on speed improvements

I loved Apple's Photos app, but with a catalog of over 250K photos (and growing) its database was simply to large to deal with.

Instead I use a variety of apps to catalog, including Amazon Photos.

I've been trialing this app for just a brief time and it looks very impressive, but it is a bit slow on the 2019 iMac I'm using with that large number of images stored on an external disk.

Definitely considering a lifetime license if I can swing it and the app continues to improve. These folks are very goos at what they do so I have very high hopes this will soon be a must have tool in my photo kit. Keep up the geat work, gentlemen!

  • Nitro - Une nouvelle app qui promet!

    English follows
    Nitro - Promising app!
I've just discovered this new photo processing app, and discovered that Nitro is more than a photo editor, it's also a very capable photo library manager! The user interface is user-friendly, the tools comprehensive, not to mention the app is fast and efficient. It was a good idea to take advantage of the trial period!

  • Brings the joy back to making photos

This is a gem of an app.

It's like haiku. Simple, yet full of riches and, immense power which wait to be discovered.

As someone who has used Aperture, Lightroom, and Capture One, this app spoke to me. It has everything I would want as an average person with a camera (and a phone!).

I miss Aperture in particular and in Nitro I have finally found an app which does not make me look back anymore.

It's a true Mac app. That means a lot to me. Lovely modern design and UI which just clicked for me.

The cost (buy or subscribe) includes an upcoming iPad and iPhone version which is an amazing deal. Too good to be true.

I am subscribing as I want to support this app

Coming from the developer of RAW Power - an app I own and use - I know the developer is going to support Nitro in a similar, responsive way, while taking it to a totally new level.

Here's what I love about Nitro:

    1. The best of both worlds: Photos on Mac, and Finder plus drives on my Mac. Nitro works effortlessly in both worlds.
    2. Terrific RAW support.
    3. Professional, modern editing controls.
    4. Masks and brushes for those who want that.
    5. Presets, LUTS, Film simulations, and so much more.
    5. EXIF, image comparison, and other nerdy details.

Most of all it's great fun to use and brings the joy back into making and sharing photographs.

I recommend this without any reservations.

  • What I have been waiting for!

I have been a long time user of Raw Power Apple Photosafter Apple discontinued Aperture (remember that?). What I like about Raw Power is the simple but powerful raw edition tools. Version 3 of Raw Power could also be used as a DAM. I have been working with Nitro for a few days now, and it is a very significant upgrade with a host of new features. The ones most important to me are the 2 new views for doing side-by-side image comparions, a quick dust spot removal tool, a clone tool, and masks. With these, I have far less need to export and edit with other programs, greatly simplifying and improving my workflow and I get to keep all the excellent Raw editing controls. The auto enhance is also significanly improves with an intensity slider providing more control.
I'm now experimenting with using Nitro to also replace Photos (at least in part), and it provides more flexibility when working with other editing programs that I use.
I'm not a big fan of software subscriptions, and Nitro can be purchased either as a subscription or outrigth, your choice.

  • Very Capable New Image Editor

Nitro is a very capable new Image Editor from the developer of Raw Power (Nik Bhatt) and includes all the edit tools you need to transform raw (DNG, TIFF, HEIF, or JPEG) images. I have been a Raw Power user for years and Nik provides great support which is essential for these apps. Nitro can read and write images in the Apple Photo Library (which can be used as a DAM) and also works with images in the file system (which I prefer). A couple of highlights: Nitro has a very flexible image comparison option (2-16 images) which is very useful in culling images. And, Nitro provides access to the complete image EXIF data, essential for understanding camera processing (such as focus stacking) - a rare feature in image editors. Very competitive with the “big guys” and much less expensive.
