  • Buy. No subscription

I love her premise of the app… have been looking/waiting for this for a long time. A few features would be helpful (landscape mode for instance) but otherwise what I’m looking for,

Disappointed to see its subscription based.
    I’d gladly pay a one time purchase fee ($5-8 ?) but a $50 annual subscription? - No.

  • Great app

I love the app, you have the ability to highlight, draw straight lines, and scribble any where on the screen with any color. Can’t wait to see more improvements and Bible versions in the future.
  • Worked great at first, now glitchy and won’t load

I was so excited when I first downloaded this. It seemed to do exactly what I wanted. But now that I’ve had it for a few weeks, it is so glitchy when I try to write or draw, and doesn’t even process the letters as I write them. Sometimes (like today) it won’t even load the app at all. It’s frozen on the start screen. Super frustrating since I paid extra for a Bible version I like- and I can’t even use it.

  • Finally, I love it!

I really wanted to be able to study and annotate my bible on my new iPad and this is just what I need! So glad they developed this app and cannot wait to see what else they add. Hope to see NKJV soon. I love the layout, logo, and look of the app so far.
  • Lots of Potential…Not There Yet

Like so many others, I have been looking for a Bible app that works with an Apple Pencil for years.

This app has a LOT of potential. But it is just not quite there yet. It desperately needs palm rejection. It also seems to need to recognize the Apple Pencil better, as well. It currently takes me 2-3 minutes to hand-write a few sentences in the app. Something that would take me 20-25 seconds in something like GoodNotes. I’ll draw a letter and part of it will disappear for no apparent reason. Or, due to lack of palm rejection, I’ll start to write and because my hand is laying on my iPad, a long, straight line from my palm to my Apple Pencil appears.

It is also extremely painful having to close the writing bar in order to scroll. Would be great to be able to scroll with your finger (again, palm/finger rejection), OR at least be able to scroll with two fingers.

I also typically have my iPad locked in portrait mode, but “upside down” (i.e. the camera is at the bottom) — this is due to my case and where the holder for the Apple Pencil is. But right now, the app force-rotates to “right side up” portrait.

I will continue to watch this app and hope the developers have some updates for these issues soon. Again, a ton of potential here. I understand there is work being done with publishers, but I look forward to the NLT. Hopefully, things are progressing with the publishers!

Version 2.0 fixes all those issues. Would you please leave a re-review? It would mean the world to us :)
  • The Journaling Bible We’ve Waited On!

    *Updated Below*
I bought my first iPad/pencil combo about 3 years ago. Every so often I would search for an app that did just this. I gave up for sometime and recently looked again and found this gem. Instantly purchased ESV for a very reasonable price. Though I would love a CSB option (I hope lifeway will play nice). I have a couple minor draw backs that may be on the radar or my own user error. I will change my rating to 5 stars if they are addressed (or I am corrected). 1. It makes marks when I rest my palm on the screen. I’m using an Apple Pencil. Most things that can be “marked up” with the traditional Apple Pencil pop up will ignore the palm. 2. I personally like the Apple Pencil mark up toolbar more than the one built into the app because it lets you adjust the gauge of your stroke. All the ones I’ve tried in the app seem a little chubby. 3. If it could save a color to the currently selected tool that would be awesome (ex: hi lighter stays yellow and pen stays black). Regardless, I plan on using this app daily! Great work!

    *Update*
They pretty much instantly responded to my review and were already working on every concern I had. That’s incredible. 5 stars!

Jordan! Thanks man! I appreciate it. 1. Palm rejection is coming very soon. 2. Better tools as well. 3. Color saving as well + quick tools. 4. CSB - hopefully this year! Thanks for taking the time to review! Kind regards Erin
  • Very clean, has a ton of potential

The design of this app drew me in very quickly. I like the ability to set up the text’s spacing.

2 things I would love to see:
    1. Lefty friendly setup - I would love to be able to put the writing space on the left side of the screen to accommodate those of us who write with the other hand
    2. The CSB version

Thanks for developing such a great looking app!

  • It doesn’t open 😭

I downloaded this app yesterday. But when I go to try to open it it doesn’t open anymore. I used it trying it out and I like the idea of drawing while reading the Bible but I haven’t figured out how to make the drawing area bigger. Do I need to redownload it?
  • Promising so far!

The free version is pretty simple, but I like it so far. I would like to get the premium elements but I couldn’t get past the subscription plan details. Regardless, I’ll keep using it as it improves :) I’m excited to see how it evolves!
The only thing I wish I could do is use split screen with Notability, and use the app in landscape. Also, maybe the option to zoom in to write smaller, like in Notability. Still love the app though :D It has helped me improve my daily study habits.

  • Great concept - wish it was better

Love that I can write while I read and make observations on the text without marking up a paper Bible. There are some glaring bugs though:
    - takes a long time loading
    - does not track well with my Apple Pencil - which is very frustrating.

    One other frustration
-the free version does not let me work offline. I would be happy to pay for it if it was not a subscription.
