  • Simple Efficient and Doesn’t Collect Data

App is great. I purchased the premium to support the developer. I’ve been working out for a few months (light cardio and light weights/body resistance) and I’m just getting into running. I’d like to someday run a 5K. Hopefully in about three months!

This app is very simple. It has a standard work-up-to-5K plan and just tells you when to walk and run. You can use other apps simultaneously like playing music.

I like that it shows the workout plan in a little chart before you start so that you can mental up for the workout. I find the plan challenging but doable.

Biggest of all, it does not collect lots of your data. I don’t need my contacts accessed, my social media notified, and all the other data mining that goes on to just go outside and enjoy some exercise with some helpful prompting to meet personal goals. Big selling point for me.
  • Simple. Perfect.

Just Run is the perfect running trainer! It’s what technology should be like! It does what it’s supposed to do and doesn’t over complicate things. I love it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to start running.
  • Affordable app for getting off the couch!

It’s free. It’s simple and easy to use. No extra gimmicks. It’s encouraging too. I just love it! You also have the full app without upgrading or subscribing to anything.

BTW I too came here from C25K. That app used to be good until it got bought out. Then the ads and extra gimmicks came. And finally the subscription model. Too bad for them. I tried this app out for 2 weeks and loved it so much I paid 2.99 for some extra but unnecessary functions, just to support the creator. Thank you!!! 👏🏻
  • Great App! Thank you!!

I came from other C25K apps who suddenly think their running programs are worth a subscription. The free version of this app works great. I didn’t need the premium features but I still purchased it out of appreciation for the developer for making the app easy and simple, as it should be. A few bucks one time is more than worth it versus the other subscriptions apps. You also get two of the “other” apps in this one app (Beginner to 5K, and then 5K to 10K.) Thanks to the dev for getting me back into a running routine!
  • Great app for completing goal

I decided I wanted to try running a 5k (literally NOT a runner) and was nervous how to begin. I searched multiple apps and found this one. What a winner! It’s so easy and motivating. I love it. My race is in a few weeks and I’m excited to say I’m almost there. Thanks to this app
  • Simple is best!

So many C25K apps charge crazy amounts just to do what this app does for free. If you’re looking for an app that just simply tracks your progress without a lot of bells and whistles, this is perfect.
  • such a good app.

really, this is just so good. no ads, no fuss, clean UI, runs in background even when my phone is dark, … i especially love the little things, like the choice to vibrate (or not!), and the (also optional) halfway-point notification.

even better, it’s two apps in one — Zero To 5k, and 5k to 10k. it’s easy to alternate between them without losing your place, and i do that because i work on pace & distance on different days.

i used it for a month and very happily paid to update it, because apps this good should be rewarded.
  • Great app, but one issue

This app is free to use and has no ads! It’s perfect and rare!! Please never change!! My only complaint is sometimes I forget to reopen the app after I finish a run, then hours later I’ll open the app to see it reset itself to the beginning of my run for that day, so I have to let it run through in the background, and make sure I’m there when it’s over to properly end it, so the schedule will stay on track and all my previous days will be marked as complete. It actually just happened to me for the second time right now that’s why I’m writing this review. It mainly just annoys me because it only happens when I’m tryna go to bed, and this time I was too late and it threw off my schedule by a day.

    Developer Response

Thanks for letting me know about this issue, I hadn't come across it before. I think I know what might be causing it, so I'll try to get it fixed in an update in the next few weeks. In the mean time, if it happens again, you don't need to re-run the workout in the background to make sure the target dates are correct. You can do your next workout as normal two or three days later, and the target dates will update automatically once you do this. The app will show the previous workout as "Skipped" due to the issue you mentioned, but the target dates will be correct. - Gary
  • Best 0 to 5k app out there.

This app is simple enough. You either are running or walking, otherwise the app should be closed.

I wish there were more app developers like this out there. I would highly recommend supporting this one.
  • First time runner. Great app.

I am a first time runner trying to get into running in mid life for better health and fitness. I tried several other apps and they were all pay me or had annoying ads. This is truly free with a simple request to pay less than a cup of coffee if you enjoy it and find value in it. This add slowly works you up to being able a run a 5k in a way that doesn’t leave you feeling like you overdid it and hurt yourself. Strongly recommend giving this app a try.
