  • Avoid This “Upgrade”

I have been using SplashID for over 10 years. While the previous version (8) had some minor bugs here and there, this “new” version (9) is an absolute mess. It is not even bets ready. The interface is clunky, slow, disorganized, and overall just poorly designed. Stick with version 8…
  • Slooooooooow Sync... If it does Sync.

I've used SplashID for year. There are a few things I like about the new version, but much I do not. The biggest issue for me is the extremely slow sync. It appears to have gotten a little faster on the desktop version, but mobile… I’m still waiting on 4 records on both iPhone and iPad that have never synced. Also, can no longer copy from Notes without going into edit mode and re-finding what I was trying to copy. Desperately need the universal search back. Having to switch between records and notes to find thing is a pain and unless I’m missing something, you can’t search any of the other fields. If these issues aren’t corrected quickly I’ll have to start looking for a new solution and taking back all of the recommendations I’ve given for SplashID over the years. Please get it fixed!!

  • I think they can do better

I have been using SplashID for years. Been a lifetime license user of version 8 for a long time and have bought the same for family/friends during Christmas. I have pushed this solution at work. However, something is off with Version 9. It is much slower, buggy, and the workflow takes longer. There are things I do like, for example, two factor authentication and password reset functionality.

Slower: it seems like it takes much longer to open and sync vs version 8. The iOS app requires you to press a button to enable FaceID everytime vs version 8 that just auto logged in using FaceID.

Buggy: When version 9 first opens and you attempt to search, it appears to try to search, allowing for just a few keystrokes and then the search bar clears and you have to search again. This makes it frustrating while you wait for the search to somehow "fully engage" before using it.

Workflow: In version 8, one you found the password you wanted, you simply tapped the password if it was masked and it would reveal. Now, version 9, you have to click the tiny little eye icon on the far right in order to show the password. From a user perspective, it was faster in V8 to just tap the password to reveal it.

Finally, overall UI issues in both the Mac and iOS versions. In version 8, you used to be able to generate a password in ANY field. Now it seems in version 9 that it can only be done in fields called Password. This is not ideal. I think the search bar in iOS should be shaded a bit darker to separate it from the white background.

I am a fan overall and hope that they are able to make adjustments to version 9. It would be great to see this version be better. I will not be recommending anyone to switch from 8 to 9 at this point, though, I will remain on 9. Glutton for punishment I guess.

  • Seamless Transition From 8 to 9

Upgraded from 8 to 9 on all my devices. Mac OS, IOS and Android 12. This was so seamless! All devices are synced and work better than 8. The biometric addition makes switching screens burdenless. I’m extremely happy with this much needed upgrade. One thing I would as for is an ⌘-F key command for the search window. Tech support is also very responsive whenever I’ve had questions or needed help. Highly recommend this product!

  • Lifetime license?

I had a “lifetime license” with v8 and transitioned to a lifetime license for v9 which was fine for about a month, then today it starts asking for an annual subscription even though it still says that I have a lifetime license for pro 9????? Don’t really like the new interface either. I used to be able to open the app and without clicking anywhere just type the first few characters of what I was looking for and boom it went there. Now I have to click in the search box first and it is much slower. “Downgrade” if you ask me.

  • Not as good as SplashID Safe

Love SplashID products but this new release has a lot to fix before it is at least equal to its predecessor.

    - Scrolling is very choppy
    - iOS version freezes
    - Neither MacOS or iOS is able to handle custom icons. There’s a weird crop feature that isn’t documented (maybe I’m missing it)
    - UI from SplashID Safe is much better than Pro 9

Looking forward to an update that will fix these issues.

  • Long Time Disappointed User

This new update is HORRIBLE! I’ve been using this since Palm Pilots (10+ years!).

The new Windows Desktop client is PAINFULLY SLOW, drops stored records, KILLS THE UTILITY OF THIS APP.

Bring back speed of v 8.3.11 Buiod 3 where it QUICKLY stores locally, syncs in the background to cloud servers, enabled icon imports seamlessly (new version takes a pictures and tried to crop the middle 5% as opposed to how it works now.

  • WiFi Sync Deleted All records

WiFi sync deleted all passwords, across an Android phone, iPad, and Windows PC. All three are supposed to do automatic daily backups but only the Android phone did it. I did do a manual backup and svid9 backup on the Android phone and tried to restore it to all three devices but the restore doesn’t stick. After the restore, if you open and close the app all the records are gone again.
Opened a ticket 48 hours ago and no response.
I’ve been using the app since the Palm days…so disappointing. I tried to manually sync my changes back to version 8 but I don’t know what I may have lost.

  • Wi-Fi Sync Wiped Out all records

After Wi-Fi sync all records gone. Restore from backup did nothing. Backed up to file and restored. See records. Close SplashID 9 and re-open it. Application says “Refreshing records…” and no records to be seen.
    The application is now broken….
If I’m lucky maybe I can export to ver 8 and get my updated records. After using this app perhaps from its inception this is just not Ok. What is happening?

  • Terrible “upgrade”

The iOS version of splash ID has to be one of the worst applications I have ever dealt with in my life. I have been a client of this company for many many years. Every time I am on the phone and I am searching for a record, then I click on the record, instead of the Record opening, what is going to open is the first record listed in my database. It takes me five minutes to get to the information I need. This never happened before. I’m giving one star until they fix it. Oh, not to mention the fact that is impossible to send them feedback from the application. This is another thing I have never seen before.
