  • Horrible update

Long time user of splash - last update was horrible basically what everyone else is saying in their reviews. I'm lifetime subscriber so I don't want to change but might have too.
  • Oh dear!

I’ve been a SplashID user since the days of the Palm and have just updated from SplashID Safe 8 to SplashID 9 and I’m very disappointed. On SplashID Safe, when I left the app I could tell it to lock automatically so I never had to do anything to ensure that my data was secure. On SplashID 9 not only can I not set that, but setting a time to lockout will lock the app even when I am actively using it. I even tried setting the time to 0 thinking that that might be the correct way to tell the app to lock on exit but no, it has apparently been coded with absolutely no sense as that will lock the app after 0 seconds - permanently locking the user out of the app! Thank goodness for my cloud subscription and the fact that settings are not propagated through the cloud! Look, I am very surprised that you have apparently removed a very basic security feature from the app that has been there since at least the first iOS version, please reinstate it. I don’t begrudge the yearly subscription, I find the service to be excellent, but this is something that might make me look at alternatives for the first time ever. If this is changed in an update then I will update my rating.

  • Forced to leave after using for many years

I've been a long-time SplashID user with nearly 1,200 records and data kept safely for a very long time. With this latest update, I wasn't too annoyed with the forced paid upgrace to Pro 9....BUT what I found very disheartening was when I started up my new iPhone, the app vanished from all App stores on Apple. No iOS app and nothing in the desktop macOS App store. So after converting my entire database over to Pro 9, the app itself disappears from the App stores??? I started pursing other options and highly rated solutions simliar to SplashID. I think I've found a solid, highly-rated, keeper of my most sensitive data.

The second reason I need to leave Splash is that their platform data will NOT play nice with any other data keepers. So the painstaking tasks of migrating away from Splash are daunting, but I'm willing to clean up all that data to operate on a reliable platform.

I did email support and a few days later they messaged me back saying they had it "fully fixed" and I should check again (on the App store). Although the App is back, I'm still skeptical mainly because this isn't just grocery shopping lists we're keeping here...it's the most sensitive data we have! It's time to part ways unfortunately.

  • Long Time User, Reasonably Satisfied

I have been using SplashID since the days of the Palm Pilot/Handspring PDA's. There have been glitches along the way, and occasionaly I have lost a password or two, but nothing that I wasn't able to rectify.
SplashID Pro 9 is quite a different app from the previous version, SplashID Safe (Ver. 8). While I messed up my first attempt at the upgrade process, I was able to get help from Nikolai, at SplashID, and he reset my account and got me on my way.
So far, so good, with SplashID Pro 9. It's a total rework of SplashID, and I expect some hiccups along the way, but I feel confident that I'll be with SplashID for another decade, or so.

  • Smooth migration. Much improved app

I’m a long-time user of SplashID (10+ years) and use it daily. Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from. My experience migrating from version 8 has been very smooth, on iPhone, iPad, Windows 10 and Mac. The new app feels much more modern and is much more responsive on Windows. It offers new features like 2FA that greatly enhance the application. Thank you!

  • Backwards Step

I have been a user of Splash ID for many years. SplashId V8 was easy to use. The new version does not work with my VPN and cloud sync doesn't work either. Local WiFi sync is difficult to use. Overall a giant backwards step. Too bad as I have nealy 2000 records so it will be difficult to migrate to a new app.

  • Beta piece of crap

It is not uncommon to release software that is not ready for the public or the user, and rather than fix a problem in the beta program you dump that crap on us. When using SplashID for more than 10 years.I am removing it from my devices. It really pisses me off that you dumped this software without proper QA.
I’ll consider the upgrade and continued use of your product once you find that you clean up this crap and maybe you might learn a very important lesson. Don’t screw with your customers.
I’ve owned an IT company since 2003.

  • Abysmal Update

Incredibly buggy and clumsy. I can see the potential in it, but the fact is, it was released months too early. I’ve been talking to Custer Support (horrible, BTW) about my two biggest beefs - can’t export data and syncing problems (lost 200 records moving from 8 to 9) and sync doesn’t work between iPad and iPhone apps. Customer Support’s attitude has been: So sorry, not much we can do. We should have the sync issue fixed by October. Seriously? I’ve been on this app for many years, and it’s always been second rate. I’ve not moved away because it’s a pain, but this is the last straw. I’m going to another app.

  • update is not an improvement

Long time happy "lifetime" SplashID user, but then updated from last version when I got a new laptop. At first my lifetime subscription was honored, but after a month of use, I got a message that I had to pay the subscription fee or be limited to 40 records (I have 900). I was not warned about this and did not see a way around it, so I paid the fee. Highly annoying. Beyond that, it is worse in every way than the previous version. Before when you opened the app, the cursor was automatically in the search field, so that I could open the app and just type the first few letters of the entry and it popped right up. Now I have to click in the field, and often I type a letter and the program hiccups and the cursor jumps out of the field. I often click on an entry and the display erratically shows something else. It is also MUCH slower than the previous version. This happens on all three of my devices, phone and two laptops, one Intel and one M2. I can only hope that the developer fixes these glitches or I will look elsewhere for a password manager.

  • Great app to manage hundreds of passwords

I have been using SplashID for more than 10 years! All in sync with my 2 Iphones, 1 IPAD and 1 MAC. Very convenient and safe! My wife and I are very pleased with version 9.x. Works perfectly!
