  • Cost

Retired, fixed income. Sorry, but I find it too expensive.
  • Running Great for a Month

I've downloaded this application as an upgrade to Splash ID 8, and I am so thankful I did. Its been running smooth for over a month now. There are a few quirks that I would like to see hammered out but for the most part, it is a massive improvement to the older version.
What I love the most is the ability to add custom fileds without limits. Now youc an make your own templates and customize them to how you need. Also, it seems like the maximum size for attachments has been lifted. In the old version, I had a huge problem with trying to get my PDFs to be under the max size allowed. Haven't noticed any restriction on the size of any attachment so far.

    Great job!

  • A step backward in UI

It's nice to see an update to SplashID after such an extended period (years!) where no noteworthy updates were provided. Unfortunately, the initial release leaves a lot to be desired with regard to the user interface. Specifically, the app now requires your cloud password (not local PIN) and 2FA code to be entered EVERY TIME the app launches. For those that like to use secure passwords in their cloud-based apps, this means a password manager is needed to get access to your password manager. Also, the overall look & feel is a bit awkward and screen real estate doesn't seem to be used efficiently. Hoping we see some updates to address these issues in short order.

  • A much needed upgrade BUT...

I started with SplashID in the days of my Palm Pilot and it has been a great password manager... yes, there were features missing but I was please to see that SplashID Pro 9 made a nice step forward.
The number one feature I want in a password manager - beside basic safety, encryption etc - is the ability to keep my data local. I do want to be in control what I sync to the cloud and what I only want to sync locally. Now SplashID let's me use WiFi sync and keep my data local - AWESOME - but I really do wish they would provide an option where I can share items also with other users via local WiFi sync. Right now, as soon as I want to share items in my password manager with another user in my team or family I have to switch fully to cloud sync - THAT IS STUPID! Please SplashID, improve your product and let us have an option to stay either fully local with shared sync or let us have two vaults, give us options. Let's hope they listen.

  • a work in progress

I have used splash ID for years. this new version is very buggy. hope it will be better with time. not ready to stop using version 8 yet.
  • A welcome update

It's a very good update once you get everything migrated if you were a prior user. The developer honored my 'Lifetime' license which I appreciate. The desktop version is now Universal Binary so it's the last Intel based app I needed (ver 8.x is Intel). Version 9 runs like a champ on my M1 iMac. I did run into problems migrating the data from v. 8 to v. 9. The documentation states that if you use CloudSync with version 8, the data will migrate as part of the overall migration process. That didn't happen for me. I had to export from v. 8 and import into v. 9 to get going. I also had some problems with MFA so I turned that off. Took a star for the data migration and a star for the wonky MFA which I'm sure they'll fix.

  • Nice update BUT

…very disappointing that cloud sync is required for sharing with other users, this should be possible in WiFi sync without the need to use the cloud!

SplashID has much potential, especially with the ability to provide a local only sync (within the network) of devices BUT also different users (share specific passwords with other user accounts). I hope they will add this feature as it is essential for a safe password manager.

Other issues at this time (May’23):
    - Password Generator ignores Settings and only generates 8 character passwords.
    - NO support to add (2FA) authenticator tokens

  • So far, so good

Transition from 8 faultless. Nice new interface.
