This bank has serious issues
I opened an account with this bank, especially hearing that it’s minority owned(black) and everything was running smoothly until I never received a debit card. I called and emailed and they all said the same thing, wait 5-7 business days, and it’s been well over that time period!!! All of my information was entered correctly, but no debit card. Then they say oh you can use the virtual card in the meantime, but there is no way for me to access a virtual card!!!!!!! There’s nothing in the app that says virtual card, I honestly give up at this point, good luck to others opening an account with Greenwood.

They keep locking my account from online purchases!!
There is absolutely no reason my account keeps being restricted and I haven’t called not once about anything fraudulent!! Restricting my account because I use it on FanDuel is not a valid enough reason to tell me I can’t use my funds online. This has blocked and made me miss out on multiple opportunities of money. Also inconvenient to when I’m trying to pay my bills. Crazy thing is you can’t even call and have them remove the restriction on your own account!! That’s bull! I tried this bank and honestly outside of this issue I haven’t had any problems but I can’t rock with them telling me how and when I can use my money! 👎🏾

App is not great
When I first joined I was pretty happy with the services I was receiving. But lately the app will not move past the log in screen after the credentials are accepted, which puts a huge inconvenience on me when I’m trying to move funds to make purchases for my business. Also the fact that I basically have to wire funds from another bank into this one just is a bit much, especially when I’m paying a monthly fee on top of that. I’m seriously considering using another banking method at this point. Great ideas here, just not very convenient.

I have the premium membership I constantly have to call them to
Unlock my card they aren’t open on Sunday at all and are only open during certain time on Saturday so if my account locks I’m out of luck until 9am Monday morning. No issues with direct deposits but issues with disputes they don’t believe in provisional credits I’m still waiting in results if u cancel membership you can not get your money back this bank is no different from any other bank they try to play the race card but I received better treatment from moneylion and all the other “white banks” going back to regular banks

Somewhat disappointed
I get direct deposits just fine but what’s the sense in promoting early deposits when you release my funds at 10pm (CST) the night before I get paid?
Tried using the card at several different places but was unsuccessful and there was plenty of money in my account.
I had to reestablish a PIN number after having already used it many times and wasn’t able to withdraw funds a few times because of such.
Now, I am unable to make mobile deposits because the option disappeared when just a week before I had no problem except that it took about a week for it to clear.
I appreciate that it’s Black-owned but I think I’ll stick with my credit union.

Features come and go
I needed to do a mobile check deposit today. But when I logged on there was no option and other features where removed. 5 hours I didn’t have the option to do mobile check deposit. Now I gotta wait two days for the next business day to have access to my money. I’m hungry yo! This app is glitchy when need it the most also they make it hard for you to change just basic info address, name, email… it’s shiny and cool but just the simple stuff. Very disappointing.

I haven’t had any issues with Greenwood personally and I was one of the first with an account had it since the beta app came out it’s been years no breaches I get my direct deposits on time from both jobs I can easily move money between accounts and other banks never had an issue I will say I did have the can’t log in thing happen to me but it tried three times in a row it didn’t work the 4th time I typed my password logged in then the face scan started working again so maybe I’m just lucky because I have no complaints also when I mobile deposited a check they didn’t release it I called they said I don’t ever deposit checks so there would be a 7 day hold talked to her supervisor reviewed my account history released the full check before I was off the phone and that was for thousands of dollars from a accident and I’ve also deposited and investment check same way hold then released and it was a lot of money so I’m keeping my account and would like to see them continue to grow and offer more services

This is by far THE WORST financial/banking system I have EVER encountered! I’m not big on your typical brick and mortar banks and the idea of being a part of a “black owned” finance company intrigued me in the beginning. I opened up an account almost 2 years ago now and literally have had way more stress than actual resolutions. Nothing is easy or convenient, customer service is HORRIBLE, the hours to reach anyone is absolutely insane, and if you lose a card and think it’ll be an easy process to retrieve…forget about it!! It literally takes 14days and you better hope within that time you’re able to transfer money from the account without any hiccups!
I’ve recently tried simply transferring money from my account to cash app…and of course the bank is rejecting the transfer and apparently this is going on with almost everyone’s account! Like literally it’s been 2 days without the ability to move money out of this account!

Inconsistent Access to App!
Currently I have not been able to open the App for at least two days. And its not the first time this has happened. I have emailed support ** I had to find a previous correspondence from account opening issues, to find it- because as previously stated in another review-No where to be found***
It’s frustrating not to have consistent access to your accounts. I believe it is something to do with the “ biometric authentication “ It validates my face but doesn’t open the app. And if I try to login manually afterwards it gives me an “internal error . Contact Support” . Which again doesn’t give you a link or a phone number to use.
I honestly don’t write reviews but I feel I have to because y’all have my money locked up in here. And I’m only here because I am trying to see if I delete the app - so I can turn off the biometrics and log on manually works. It’s frustrating not to have access to your money.
I also dislike mobile check deposits because it takes unbelievable long for them release any of your funds! These two reasons have me reconsidering my choice to bank with Greenwood. Please come up with solutions . Thank you!

How do you have a banking app where you are constantly locked out of accessing your own money?! As much as I wanted to support this bank I HAVE TO go back to a major brick and mortar bank. At least their customer service department will actually do some work.
Even the customer service is terrible. It took me almost 2 months to get a replacement card.
Even today I’m locked out and can’t get gas to get to work and customer service (who should be open at 10:00 AM ON THURSDAY…..it is now almost 10:30 AND THEY REFUSE TO ANSWER THE PHONE)
