  • Doesn’t work with FaceID 😳

iPhone X has been out for more than a year yet SplashID does not work with FaceID.

When the TouchID is enabled, SplashID crash immediately upon startup, forcing reinstall of the app.

I have purchased a lifetime update of this app but it appears I have to look for another password app the developer updates more frequently.

    ———— UPDATE OCT 2018 ————
I have switched to Enpass. Absolutely fantastic app for one time payment of AUD$15. You can make it sync with icloud or google drive or dropbox, etc., The desktop app is free.

If you factor the pricing, Enpass is much better than 1Pass or many other, better promoted password apps.

  • Best of the Best

I’ve tried them all. This one is definitely (in my opinion) the best. Why?
    - robust, customizable features
    - crazy security with 2FA (don’t lose your password as even these guys don’t have it)
    - nice user interface on iPhone, iPad, Mac, web...

For me, I love it. Nice to see his app I’ve been using since he awesome Palm days still here and still relevant and robust. Thanks for the great software.

  • Corporate Greed

After having SplashID corrupt my data not once, but twice after an update, I stopped updating. I’ve been using it for a number of years. Then in a moment of weakness, I allowed it to update. Now I can no longer back up my phone to my desktop machine. SplashData will only let me do that if I pay them rent. They call it a subscription, but it’s software rental. Oh sure, they’ll give me a discount, and even let me pay them a one-time fee to keep using it, but the point is that I already paid for it and I refuse to pay their extortion just to use software I already own.

If you’re thinking about renting this app, be very aware that this is a company with no scruples and no respect for their customers. Having screwed over their customers once, they will have no qualms about doing it again. You’re likely to open SlashID one day to find a pop up telling you that if you want to use it, you’ll have to cough up some more money. In my experience, that’s exactly how they operate.

  • SpashID Severely Flawed

Used well at start then incessantly harassed to upgrade. Finally weakened and upgraded at $29Cdn. and immediately locked out with no recourse to retrieve monies paid or receiving upgrade.
My advice would be to stay well clear of this app.
  • Great app I pass on to Apple Advisors

This is a fantastic app that I tell everyone about, even Apple Advisors, because I feel it is so much more secure then the Apple Keychain for saving passwords. But not only can you save passwords on Splashid, but banking, credit card information, car insurance, VINs and so much more. Anything, I mean ANYTHING you feel is important enough for you to save, you can save it on Splashid. From A to Z, all you have to do is add the information as a record or a category, and since the list is never ending you can keep on saving.
I’m the first one to admit that the amount of information that I know about computers or any other smart tech thing, could fill a cavity in an ant’s tooth. ( Notice I’m spelling an insect here, not a sister of one of your parents ) But with an application like Splashid around you can still survive as a grain of sand against the mighty waves on a beach.
Buy it. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

  • Cloud Sync hasn’t worked all year

I’ve used this app for many years and when the new fee structure came out, I opted for the cloud sync....only it hasn’t and doesn’t actually sync.

Each of my devices and the online version have a differing number of records, which was discovered and reported. Nothing was done. It has been reported again. Interestingly, when I opened the online backup, the number of records contained is different from what it indicates....so I can’t even do a restore, because there are too many missing files.

There is no ability to force sync, because it is supposed to be syncing with every change. I’ve been paying for service that doesn’t work and they haven’t fixed despite being reported.

  • Still the best and most secure

As noted by other reviewers, they might take a few days to integrate IOS updates, but the software has never failed and remains one of the most secure (since Palm times). Lifetime purchase makes the decision easy and the annual offers to have others join lifetime at a discounted price means that the whole family are on it.

  • Forcing me to upgrade

I installed the app but the authorization process does not seem to complete until I agree to upgrade to the Pro version - waste of time. Makes me want to cancel the Pro versions I have for other users.

I can’t even send this until I choose a nickname. Apparently “frustrated” and “nicknametaken” are both unavailable.

  • No way to add fields to existing records

Paying for Pro...but why? I’ve used this app for over 7 years and recently was forced to get paid version so my entries would save/sync/be backed up. But there are basic problems for the user that should be fixed if you’re going to charge people to use.

On mobile app, I cannot add fields to existing records. And, since I can’t add fields, I have to type into notes but once you use so many lines, you can no longer scroll down to type into notes; it only lets you scroll so far before the keyboard blocks it from view 😡. Basic stuff here.

Also - I’ve had records: 1) disappear; 2) lose information; & 3) have the icon change when its previously been set. Again, what am I paying for???
