Can’t stream content from the on-demand sectionsoramist
Suddenly I can’t seem to find shows
I recently updated this and suddenly I can’t find most on-demand content. Either it’s gone or it’s been organized into a corner so dark that I haven’t been able to locate. I’m thinking it’s probably no longer worth it, and I’ll just watch shows in the browser.spinee
More features is nice! NHK Live isn’t easy to find
There is so much more to do in the app now! I love the expansion of features. I do wish that NHK Live broadcast was easier to access. I don’t like to scroll so far to find it. Watching NHK live is the most important feature for me in the app.nicholas042893
App has become useless
Used to love the app. News and such was a bonus. Primary reason was for earthquake alerts. Now suddenly it says I need to enable push notifications in phone settings. Yet NHK doesn’t show up in notification settings to enable it. My daughter lives in Japan and this was the main way to keep up with earthquakes. Not sure what to do now. Great content, but Chromecast support broken
This app is a fantastic way to watch countless informative documentaries about Japan. However, the latest major update has reduced Chromecast functionality to radio and live broadcast only. It’s no longer possible to cast the on-demand videos, which is terribly disappointing.bitsandbytes

Awesome App
Great app to tune into a variety of programs. Really enjoy having live stream and also the on demand programs. One thing, the latest update of the app won’t allow casting via chrome cast for on demand programs, only live feed, it would be good to have this fixed as soon as possible.Brendo@Sydney
Upgrade REMOVED useful functionality
Surprised and disappointed that NHK could less user experience. Specifically, removal of default Live TV. Secondly, Inability to screen record clips of programming in iOS (which I share with friends family to introduce NHK quality standards). At minimum, please allow users to set ‘default’ view to Live TV in settingsShow lessNon-functional iOS7 experience
Used to be good
Before their latest update I was able to get a listing of upcoming programs. Now the interface is not intuitive and it no longer has the listing unless you select “open in browser”. I’ll probably delete the app and just go through a browser.swnk999
