Gained v8.0.0; Lost OnDemand Chromecast
This was a 4 star app now a 2 as the 8.0.0 update, while being reorganized and adding radio, has LOST ON DEMAND CHROMECAST. I can cast live programming just fine, however on demand is limited to playing on the iOS device (iPhone in my case). NHK please fix. Either way I love the content but need to watch sumo on a Big Sumo Sized Screen!Show lessS_McAfee

Finding videos needs to be easier
Love NHK World but this new app is not an improvement on the older version. Navigation is not always transparent. For example, it is much harder to find specific videos on demand than before because they are hidden under multiple layers of navigation. Links in the app sometimes open in the browser rather than in the app. Needs better user testing to make the content easier to access.Show lessPeter5276
Where are all the programs?
I loved the NHK world app before the recent Nov 2019 update. Now I can’t access all the different programming I would regularly watch. I’ve clicked through all the different pages to try to find them to no avail. If it’s there it’s poorly designed and not intuitive. And if they have disappeared why? Yes it’s great now it’s available in 17 languages and it’s nice there’s access to radio/podcast but when you can’t watch the amazing shows like CoreKyoto, design talks plus, fashion express... what’s the point? Please correct this, as I am a total fan of your impeccable programming and usually only access thru the app.Show lessINVOCATEVR
Update broke Chromecast
Accidentally did the update today on both of my devices and discovered to my horror that the update makes it virtually impossible to cast to Chromecast. I can get the Live programming to cast because the cast button is on the same screen as live.
However, when trying to view any On Demand content, it now takes you to the web view for the program where the video is embedded. There is no cast button on these pages.
If I wanted to use the web option, I can just go to the website. Why break the app by just linking it back to the website?
I also dislike the new navigational format, but that’s a different issue. Devs, PLEASE FIX CHROMECAST!Show lesslolasaysyes

The latest release has broken the chromecast option from my iPad.
Hope you can fix this.

What happened to chromecast????
I love this app but with this upgrade I can only chromecast from the live tv stream. Seriously people? In the middle of November Grand Sumo?!?! What are you thinking?!?! Please get this sorted so I can cast the daily highlights or I’m sending Hakuho to your place! I’m devestated. 😭😭😭Sucada

A great app for a great broadcaster. I’ve watched so many programmes already. Japanology Plus is my favourite!
I would really like a dark mode to go along with the new system-wide dark mode in iOS 13.
Could I also ask for an NHK account service so we can sign in and save our favourite programmes? This could also sync with the NHK World website. That would be great!
