Great app for out of shape old man

I work from a home office and sit almost all day. I realized I am in horrible physical condition. I decided to try this app. The first day was 6 one minute runs sandwiched between walking. I could barely get through them. To my delight though, that was the hardest day so far. I am now in my 5th week. I am running 18 minutes of 30 and feel like there is nothing to it. My distance is already approaching a 5K.

My only suggestion for this app would be to have a little more interaction on the audio. A voice telling me my pace, or “you just completed one mile”, or “you have been running for four minutes only four more minutes until you walk “ would be great. It does tell you when you have reached half way which is nice for knowing when to turn around.

Very misleading and overpriced

Super misleading, it’s advertised as free but you only get 4 free runs and then you need to pay $14 for the entire program. It’s a complete rip off, there are other apps that have this exact program that are much cheaper. What a joke

10/10 I highly recommend

Before this app, I would always give up on running because I wouldn’t make progress. I’m on the sixth week and this app is amazing. It’s very simple, nothing gucci but it is the only thing that has ever motivated me to run and to stay consistent on it. I see progress, and I’m excited to run every time. Running is not easy, but knowing that it is doable for me motivates me to give it my all. I wouldn’t last more than a minute running before this app but now I’m on 10 minutes straight without stopping.

Don’t cheat yourself!! 🔥💪

(I also recommend Strava. I use both apps at the same time. Strava just to record my miles and keep a log.)

Generally great!

Going to stick with it, the runs are really helpful, motivating and realistic and ANYONE can do it... only, I can’t find where I started! At the beginning you enter your details and it says ‘based on what you’ve given you should start at week ***’ but I don’t know where that is. I’ve found myself doing the same run twice now because I’ve lost track of which I had or hadn’t done, thinking it would automatically give me my next challenge or tick it off. Frustrating to keep track of (yes there is a history section hidden in settings) but I’m sure it said start at week three, and it appears I have been doing week twos workout (running the same run two/three times 🤦🏼‍♀️). Still a great idea, just having some silly user issues!

Ok but could be better

This isn’t a bad app, just needs some tweaking for example:
1) Need to be able to use the gps of the Apple Watch when in doors running. Even though I can get a good signal when I run round my centres main hall, the app assumes I’ve run on a treadmill and doesn’t calculate Kilometres or calories. But my watch and phone is still able to calculate the distance no bother.
2) When your in the app, if you accidentally switch your app to something else or close the phone by accident, the app still runs in the background, you can be easily forget or lose track of the warm up time, as there is no voice to say when you are about to switch from warm up to run and this is really frustrating if you don’t notice it.
Other than that, it’s ok just could have been better with these small improvements.

Not free

I used to have this app, it was free. It really helped me! Now I have to pay for it? No thank you. I’ll hang out on my couch.

Great App, but missing Apple Watch Support

This is a great app, but he need to keep my phone screen on while running (when I lock the phone, the app stops giving voice prompts) and lack of an Apple Watch App are frustrating.

Having said that, the app itself is great. I used to run pretty regularly, but had a long break due to an injury. I tried to to start running again several times, but re-injured myself each time. This app focuses on how long to run as opposed to how far and prompting me when to start and stop. That is working exceptionally well for me. Previously I would target running a certain distance but would constantly have to fight to urge to speed up when nearing the end of a distance (where all of my re-injuries occurred) and I would often break into a more aggressive run despite knowing better.

The interface is clear, easy to read and easy to use. The running plan has been perfect for me so far (I’m about 3/4 of the way through) and I would recommend the app anyone trying to get in shape for a 5K run or just wanting to run better.

I just wish it had an Apple Watch App so I wouldn’t have to lug my phone around with me on the runs or could at least put it in shoulder or chest phone-holder rather than having to carry it in my hand.

Easy to follow

Love this app. So easy to use. Challenges you every time you use it but without it being unrealistic. Handy prompts to get you through so you don’t have to look at the screen. I use it on a treadmill so that I can keep the speed level I want but works just as well if you prefer running outside as tells you the half way point so you can turn around in time to go home.

Great App!

When I started using this app, I hated running but decided to take it up as something to do in quarantine. Now, I really enjoy running and can run further than I thought I could. The programme is very effective, and is at the right level of challenge for each run. I think showing how many calories burnt, distance covered and time spent exercising is really good, and the format is simple and easy to read. I find this great as some running apps show information in complicated graphs which can be hard to interpret. The only downfalls with the app are: the voice and the distance covered feature. I would like to know if the distance shown is the total distance or just what you ran. The problem with the voice is that it doesn’t say much once you get to the later runs and no longer have to walk. A little more commentary would be good. The voice is also very fake and robotic, and sounds like some fake American doll. Could we have the option to make it different accents, because I would definitely prefer to listen to a British accent. When these things are clarified/fixed I will rate 5 stars.

Needs Apple Watch Function

I have used this app before and it does exactly what it says, it used to push to your watch years ago but now that we have all this amazing technical its just annoying that it doesnt have a watch function. Running with an iPhone is annoying but hey there are more important things in life than that. It definitely will get you running long distances without a break, so it is worth it. Just App Developers please consider a watch version especially those of us that have watches with Data and Sims.
