  • Wish there were more activities to record for

Hello. I’m trying to use this app for a miles competition with my family and the problem that I’m running into (haha) is that there are only three exercise options. While I do run, bike and walk, I also cross country ski and hike. Other people also kayak, swim, in-line skate, unicycle etc.) I would love it if there were more options.

Also, the miles aren’t really equal. Biking ten miles on pavement is a lot easier than running ten trail miles. Shouldn’t running count for more or biking count for less? In another miles competition I was part of (called 100 miles in May) they had the miles calculated on a metabolically with running as the basis. Shouldn’t Charity Miles do something like that? Otherwise it’ll be a lot easier for the road bikers to rack up miles than the trail runners. (Just an example)

Thanks. Hopefully those two things can be changed. Have a great day person reading this.

  • Bad idea

Sponsors already allocate budget for charities, using this app won’t make them spend more on charity, it will only redirect part of their budget to the charity of your choice. If this is ok for you, keep reading, this is a VERY inefficient way of doing so:

Charity Miles takes a 50% cut - every mile you walk results in 25 cents going toward the charity of your choice, but also directs 25 cents to the Charity Miles company itself.

There are other apps that pay for you to run, and they get money from ads. You can get this money and donate.

  • Charity Miles is so good

I really enjoy the Charity Miles app. It is great walking and keeping fit and at the same time raising money for charity, in my case Sight for Kids. I’m so glad I discovered this app.
  • Need Metric Units

Great app but need metric units (kilometres) as an option to change. Please add this setting for both sides to get the unit they are familiar with. Not losing any stars however because of this because it’s a small issue :)
  • LOVE THIS APP!!!!

I think my title says it all. I’m usually annoyed when an app prompts me to write a review, but with this one, I decided it was worth it.

It’s so lovely to be encouraged to get in some sort of daily exercise, even a short walk, while giving back at the same time. Even though I’m not in a position right now to give financially, it’s awesome to know that walking a little bit everyday gives back to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Love the app, love the easy-to-use layout and design, and love the idea behind it all. 5 stars, 10/10.

  • It’s not just an App it’s a Family

We were introduced to charity miles by legend Jack Fussell SR who spent 4 years of his life and about 18,000 miles walking across America for Alzheimer’s Advocacy. We started using the app and sharing our journey. Other members using the app reached out to us and encouraged us. Just an amazing community of people not just out there to track their own miles, but to be part of something bigger than yourself. If you want more than just a tracking app, you absolutely must use Charity Miles App.

  • Confusing

I’ve only just downloaded this app a few days ago, but I was super excited when I found out about it since I enjoy walks and walk dogs regularly.
The concept behind it is great, but the app itself is laughable. It tells you nothing about how much you’ve raised, and there isn’t even a $ per mile explanation in the FAQ, which I find kind of suspicious. You’d think this is the most basic piece of information that all users would want to know, so to forget to include this seems intentional and kind of sketchy. What you get in your profile instead, is a total mile count, and a comically useless graph that displays the distribution of the miles by day/week/year. However, there are no labels on this graph so it is essentially useless. Al you can get from the graph is what days you exercised more/less than usual.

TL;DR: developers, what is you thinking?!

  • some things changed for the worst

Some things have changed for the worst. In my history I no longer see the amount I raised or the time it took me to complete. Same with significantly less details in the group pages. My mom and I had a group to push each other in workouts since we no longer live in the same state. We would upload pictures after each workout so the other could see and now I can no longer see them or how far each of us went. The steps and pledges part does not work for me. Also, getting this to sync with my fitbit would be amazing since I always wear that but sometimes do not have my phone

  • Extremely disappointed!

I got this app to give back to a very specific charity when I walk since I am blind so I walk everywhere. Since I can’t afford to make regular donations to a specific charity that means everything to me extremely disappointed that I can’t select or add my own charity to be able to give back to the one specific charity that means everything to me. I don’t know if I’ll keep this app because I got it for that specific reason if you could make it so we can add our own charity instead of having to choose from a list of charities that would be wonderful because the charity I want isn’t even available but I don’t want to give to a different charity that didn’t give me anything when this particular non-profit has given me so much they’re the only one I want to give back to.

  • No money being raised !

I’m really hoping I get a reply that solves this. After a good start the app has not allowed me to raise any money with further miles. I’ve tried changing charity but it doesn’t help. Now I’ve updated the app it shows my miles but with a zero amount raised!
