  • Great but...

So I absolutely love this app. The interface is great. It’s super easy to use. You get to choose between loads of charities to be walking/running/biking for.

The only issue that I’m finding with this, and maybe I just haven’t figured out how to do it yet, but I can’t connect the app to be tracked through my smart watch.

Here’s why it’s a problem: I run on a treadmill and like to catch up on my series while I run, so my phone sits on the treadmill not moving. Well the app thinks I’m not moving... heck, I’ve even had it in my hand when I’m walking on the treadmill and it still thought I wasn’t moving. I’m not sure how sensitive the motion detection is, but it’s just mildly frustrating that there’s no way to track my miles when I want to use my phone for something during my indoor walk/run

  • Unclear whether this is a scam

I've been using this app for a year and a bit, and a recent update has started showing how much money you, as an individual, have generated.

    Over 2,000 miles = $0.25, apparently.
  • Disappointed

I had reached 2001 miles and when I went to post it vanished, doesn’t even show in the history 😢
  • CHARITY MILES------>

10/10!....I lost my Mam, to the dreaded cancer last year & through the grieving process, I've taken too fitness, (plus I hit 50 years old this year!) So it's 2 birds & 1 stone! My Mam's (& others with cancer), plus my well being! I keep telling myself that turning 50, is only a number, (a big one lol), I feel fitter & healthier, then when I were 40 & 30! (Plus 2 years ago I stopped smoking, having smoked since my teens & my Mam got lung cancer from smoking! So the futures bright, the futures....CHARITY MILES! 👍👟🏃‍♂️💨💨💨💨

  • Great idea, but needs work

I got this app as a way to create a group and have that group track miles for a charity, which is what this app is supposed to do, right?!! It doesn’t. It doesn’t track any of my miles within the group, or even on the main page; just 0 miles, 0 streak, 0% inaccurate. I can only see them on my personal page. The help section says maybe it’s because my internet is slow; then why would my miles be logged on my personal page and not in the team?? Contacted support but I was told I should use the app and not Strava; I AM using the app!??

Other things that would be nice include the ability to see who’s in my group, how much money my team and myself have raised for a charity.

  • Great idea

Love the idea but I SO wish that you could see how much you personally were raising per run or week/month and total. I hope that’ll be added ASAP!
  • Awesome app!!

I’m only 15 years old and I love using this app on a daily. It encourages me to walk home from places rather than riding in a car (which actually helps reduce co2 gases as well). I’ve found that this app has been wonderful!! As a teenager, I can’t really give money to charities because I don’t have a job. This is my way of giving at such a young age and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. I encourage others around me to use it at school because I log about 1.5 miles everyday just walking to my classes alone. Yes, Charity miles isn’t always the most accurate on the mileage, but it’s still an outstanding app and I love the idea of it. Keep up the great work :)

  • Fantastic App, just needs a few tweaks.

Amazing idea. Great concept. Love it.

Only criticism is that you don’t get to see how much money you’ve raised for a particular run or overall for your personal profile. Its still great to know i’m contributing, but that feeling would be 10x better if I was to know how much I’m contributing.
  • Room for Improvement

I have used this app for a year or so and I love it. However, there are some things I wish could be better or easily added to enhance this app.

    1. Money Earned
I check how many miles I have done all the time. I don’t care so much for the miles, but to calculate how much money I have earned for charity. It would be so much better if I didn’t have to do that. There should be a section beside “Total Miles” with the amount of money you have donated to charity. That’s the whole point of this app, right?

    2. Indoor Walking
For the most part, I walk indoors. I understand I have to swing my arms with my phone in my hand to calculate the miles. However, it never calculates as much as I have done. For instance, I walked 1.75 miles, but the phone only caught 1.5. It’s not that big of a deal, but once the miles pile up, then there is a big difference. If the developers can develop a way to get the 1.5 closer to 1.75, then we will all make a bigger impact.

  • More international charities

Overall I like this app. I am not the kind of person who is good at raising money so an app that does that for me every time I go for a walk is great. But there are three suggestions I have.
1 give the option of kilometres. I live in Australia and like most of the world we use the metric system so I have to look up the comparison.
2 I would like to see more international charities to choose from. We have plenty of really good ones here in Australia I can suggest.
3 Have the app linked to pedometers on watches so I don’t have to carry my phone every time I go for a walk.
