I came back from a Dodger game excited to use the app for a FREE hotdog and soda. Unfortunately, after going to three locations, I came home defeated and empty handed. The first employee refused to scan my barcode, as they were confused about the app and how it worked. The app said to scan before the purchase, and they didn’t want to until after I scanned my items. The employee had no idea that there even was a deal in place! I went to a new place where I was able to scan my items, and my app barcode. However, the app showed no sign of conformation, nor did the register. After spending several minutes trying to investigate and solve the problem with two separate employees, we were unable to redeem the deal. I went to a third place where I had a similar problem of employee lack of knowledge about what to do.
The app shows zero conformation of activation when used, and does not have a barcode for individual deals, making it extremely confusing to see if a deal is active or not, or if the general barcode even applies. And to top it off, the employees are not trained on how to receive app deals and are as clueless as the customer on how to use it.
Safe to say, after this fiasco, I will not be trying to use an app deal with the AMPM app in the foreseeable future.
