  • Highly recommend Heartmath in my Practice

As a performance consultant, hypnotherapist and coach to professional and collegiate athletes - I train clients in levels of focus, concentration, mind-breath-body coordination and coherence. In training high level breath work skills, I often use the InnerBalance HeartMath tools for feedback and to engage my clients, who range from executives and professionals in all sorts of stressful career stages, to students in HS & college who also face significant anxieties - to the many professional and collegiate athletes in all sports. HRV Coherence is important for all people.

  • Increasingly Frustrating

Honestly, this app makes me more stressed. I would like to set it to chime when the session ends, but NOT on coherence change, and that isn’t possible. It appears possible on the settings, but it doesn’t work. So I have to either have the volume on or off. If it’s on, it chimes all the time and stresses me out more.
My coherence level is all over the map! When I feel relaxed it’s in the red and when I feel more stressed it’s green. I’m so confused!
I even tried setting it to vibrate but that doesn’t work either. It vibrates when YOU stop it, not when the timer is up. How is that helpful? Now it won’t even sync my data. I think I need to go back to using Insight Timer. It’s less stressful.

  • So far, I don’t get it.

First I’m wondering why all the reviews are for 1, 2, 3 years... No one is buying it anymore? I just purchased as FM Dr suggested, but so far all I can tell is I get to watch a colorful circle breathe in and out for $100. (That doesn’t calm me down...). And I’m not sure what Coherence has to do with anything.
Like I said, I just got it, and I haven’t really even found where the instructions are, so I’m sure hoping I find there’s more to it than that! Guess I should wait to write a review til after I can figure it out, but was looking at reviews for reassurance and didn’t find much😰

  • Inner Balance

I read a few reviews that stated people had trouble connecting the sensor and other issues. I have not had one problem with the hardware or the software. I never was a meditator because I could not find any reason for it. However, this gives me something to focus on and I do believe I am becoming a person who meditates. I have also found that I am reacting differently to situations that use to make me angry for no good reason (example, mild road rage). Also, the HeartMath site has tons of research to back this up and a load of great literature.

  • Enjoy

I have really come to enjoy this app. Easy to use after you know the trick of the sensor which is its shortcoming I suppose. The sensor needs to be disconnected and reconnected to go between the personal and global apps. I got around this by using one app on my phone and the other on my pad. Until I learned this it was frustrating trying to connect, as two separate apps causing problems with each other is usually pretty low on the troubleshooting list.

  • Meditation

I am new to meditation, but the inner balance has removed a lot of the problems I was having. Even after only one session I felt peaceful, which stayed with me through the rest of my work day. After using it for several days, I find myself breathing myself into a peaceful state. My doctor recommended this to me because of the stress I’m trying to process, and honestly I thought he was a little bonkers. But he was right. Just a few minutes and my emotions are settled. Best purchase I have made this year!

  • Gold mine ✨

I have been a HeartMath Coach for 4 years and have used my desktop version of the inner balance as well as the blue tooth version. I cannot express what an advantage it is to have them to achieve new and higher baselines of Coherence, I enjoy all the features they have for achieving results all the way from the breathing pacer to the iCloud platform that allows for sharing of results. I have heartmath clients who live abroad and having the ability to know through the iCloud how they are doing is such an added value. It is a must have for daily use for me. Every day I realize how much my coherence contributes to the whole and that brings me joy. It also motivates me more to share Heartmath with the world. Eva C Calderón

  • This has made a huge difference to me.

I use the inner balance everyday, and while my score may be higher or lower on different days, there hasn’t been a single time where I haven’t felt better afterward. I’ve also noticed that over time, my baseline mood has become happier and more stable. I even use it in the middle of the night sometimes when I can’t sleep...it helps calm my mind which usually does the trick. Thank you for all you do at HeartMath.

  • enjoying this but significant biofeedback lag

I'm new to the whole concept this brings to the table. In the 4 weeks since I've started I've benefited because this makes me stop and be calm for several minutes at a time.

    so overall. thumbs up.

the down side... there is a 15-20 second lag between your calculated coherence state and what you see. it's really distracting to me. it's not even close to real time feedback.

i have no experience with any other hardware or software in this area so this still may be the state of the industry.

for other newbies... i at first thought this was about deep breathing and relaxation. it's not. my own breathe rate seems to be best for this at about 9 seconds. what I'm reading is that this is about being focused and not about relaxation.

I'm disappointed about the long delay in the "live" feedback but overall so far I'm still glad i got it.
