  • Fun for fans of Advance Wars

There are a few quirks, but it hits a lot of the same marks. Well worth a purchase.

I found the difficulty a bit up-and-down at times, but overall it does a good job of creating satisfying scenarios, and executes them with a sense of humor that reminded me at times of Dual Strike's lighter moments.

The UI is well done, in spite of a few flaws that aren't game-breaking, but can be annoying in the moment.

The challenges give you some of that single-player re-playability that's ideal for portable games, especially if you have a long commute.

  • Amazing game with a few flaws

Don't know if this is a AI mechanic, but it cheats... a lot. Builds Heavy Tank with only 13,000 in the bank and somehow has 1,000 to spare ?!? 0.o Mainly noticed this in the "Veteran" section.

Haven't played the multiplayer yet so don't know about those issues.

Otherwise so glad i picked this up to kill some time. Loved advanced wars and this helps fill that gap.

  • The most brilliant game

I just can't stop playing it. More levels please if you have time or make up an even groovier game!
  • Oh wow!

Captures the Advance Wars vibe better than any other game I've played on the App Store! The units don't look at distinct from the terrain as they do in AW, making it sometimes hard to see your units ... and the story is sort of silly - I will defend people putting ketchup on their eggs TO THE DEATH! ... well, not that death ... but the mechanics feel very good generally and everything just gives off a polished vibe. I'm excited to play more :)

  • Keep it simple

Really nice game, simple yet addictive.
Pros: relive the Advanced war series all over again
Cons: would be nice to have some Navy unit
  • The true Advance Wars successor

This has finally made up for the lack of an Advance Wars game on iOS! Dare I say it's even better! Download this right away; it's brilliant.

One negative point: I don't really like the in-game "superpowers". They are too many, it's hard to remember when it's most opportune to use them and they distract from the game purity. That's just for the main missions as you can disable them on custom maps so it's not that bad.

  • Awesome break from chess!

Besides a chess puzzles game I have, this is definitely the best strategy game I've played. And alongside an action/platformer app called Mushroom 11 this is one of my favorites. I loved advance wars on the GameBoy advance, definitely provided a change of scenery from chess, so this is an excellently designed copycat. I have beat the first two territories so far and I have not yet scene warships such as diving submarines though but hopes r still fairly high

  • Advanced in the right way

This is the game we all loved in a new quirky wrapping. Touch controls port over seamlessly. Until Andy rises from the grave, I'll be happily playing this surprising gem!
  • 100% amazing (unit suggestions included)

Tactically and strategically superior to Advance Wars. No issues to report.

    Here are some unit suggestions:
Assault scout unit that can either move twice or attack and move. Low armor, medium attack

Area of effect mech transport unit that deals damage to all adjacent enemy units when it arrives at a location. Deals more damage when "loaded" with an infantry unit who is manning the guns.

Elite ranger unit, which goes into stealth mode when in the mountains. More expensive than the regular ranger.

A ballista-type unit that automatically fires a shot on the first unit that enters its firing radius, cannot actively fire if it has already shot during the opponents turn.

Mine-deployment mech. Three land mines thAt can be "unloaded" on the ground and triggers when an enemy ground unit rolls over it. Great for laying traps in the brush.

A ballista unit that fires a weaker shot than the standard, but strikes a radius of 2x2 damaging all, ground units within the 4 tiles.

  • High Quality! Awesome! (Suggestions)

The single player is awesome, the multiplayer is awesome, and I haven't tried the challenges out yet, but I'm guessing it's going to be awesome too. I love the art style and how neat everything is. They even created a full manual for this! Look it up online and see for yourself!

Only reason why I didn't give 5 stars/suggestions for game:

*Make it so we can invite our friends AND have them on the same team when auto-matching with random players.

*Make it so we can invite our friends to be on the same team AND play against 2 other AI opponents.

*The manual says that we're supposed to be able to create our own tags in tag matches, but I can't on the phone version. You need to maybe change this? But not as important as the other two

(Big Advance Wars fan, you guys did an amazing job)

    5/9/17
    *bug:
In one of my games, destroying the last reactor causes the game to crash. It's happened 4 times in a row, and using a different unit to destroy it makes no difference. I hope this helps.
