Leave a Review Outline
Great to be able to open new notes, but it will need updates to meet OneNote Standards
So happy I can finally open all my old university notes on my mac. However not exactly how the notes look in original form on windows, diagrams which were made in one note can not be see (just white boxes), images are blurred/cant see clearly. Also the ability to zoom in and out, can only scroll up and down at the moment. However I hope these are features which will slowely be added over time.
Also the ability to eventually create/edit is really needed, however I understand this will take time. But please bring it soon as possible!

I'm glad I read the FB update and app description that said this was only a Reader. Or else, I would have been in for a rude surprise! I'm holding Outline to the condition that this purchase will allow me to upgrade to the Editor version free of charge!!
I love Outline on my iPad, but having an editor function on my Mac would be amazing, ten-fold. The screen is bigger, and typing is easier, as is formatting (which can be quite restrictive on the iPad).
WIth the current Reader, I agree that the interface looks amazing but how am I able to print from this? And there is no export option to PDF?!?Show lessRelieved iphoner

Haha you can not sign in directly to skydrive and access your notebooks, you have to export or save them and then read them into Outline. This is a waste of time.TroutyMontreal

Obviously this has less functionality than the partnered iPad app (for now) and the price might seem a little steep for just a OneNote reader but it will be totally justified once you're able to create and edit OneNote files. I had no problem exporting OneNote files from Outline+ for iPad to the Mac app and all the formatting remained the same and it's a joy to read notes with. The app really does need the ability to edit files though… And that maybe should have been functionality made available from day 1 (I always thought the Mac app was going to be a free/cheap OneNote reader only, so the ability to edit would be great.)Show lessAbcmsaj

I realise this is still in development and awaiting an editor but I appreciate that developers need support along the way and thought I'd buy in early to encourage its continued development. I currently use OneNote on my phone and on my Mac via the web app so I thought, at least I'll be able to read my notes using a native Mac app. But no, the OneNote files need exporting from SkyDrive to use in Outline, something that can only be done from the Windows OneNote program. So let's be clear: you need Windows to export OneNote to Outline. I'm a Mac user. If I had Windows, I'd use OneNote in Windows! I don't understand why Outline can't read the OneNote files directly from SkyDrive, when it can read them on DropBox, etc., but until it does, this app is pretty much useless. This app promises to be OneNote for Mac; I hope the developers keep their promises and make it so.Show less
