  • Sloppy

Saves your password with TouchID, but not your backup private key, which you’ll have to enter manually every time. Text overflows out of text boxes in its UI. Icon sizes are inconsistent in the tab bar. Randomly flickers a full screen loading page for a fraction of a second as you navigate between screens - after the UI has already drawn. Doesn’t follow the most basic of iOS design guidelines. Unhelpful error messages such as: “HTTP Status 204 / You found a unicorn.” [Retry]. Settings screen does not capitalize text correctly and needs a better gear icon. I hope the file restoration at least works, should I need it one day.

  • Seems to work fine for me

It saved my userid and password for use with TouchID. Allowed me to download a spreadsheet, an .mp3, and a 5MB .pdf file. No issues. Allows sending to other iOS apps. Backblaze is not a Cloud Sync’ing service like Dropbox. It’s a backup protection service. This extra feature that they provide access too all my files while on-the-go is really appreciated. They don’t stream large files like movies, but, that seems like a lot to ask of a backup provider. Use your own Plex server if that’s what you want. I was forced out of CrashPlan like a lot of fellow users, and honestly, I did like CrashPlan a little better. But, I also know they didn’t feel like what I paid them was worth it for the service they thought they provided so they exited the business. Not much I can do about that. Backblaze is adequate and at a reasonable price. And this app, while not feature rich, works fine for accessing my files on the go and in an emergency.

  • Works perfect

This app doesn’t do much but what it does do it does well. I am on iPhone X. The app opens and allows login. You can save your login and use faceid to unlock. Unlock does work after closing app.

This app allows you to browse backed up data and download to the phone. I tested and it works.

Not sure what else to ask of this app. It is well designed with a specific useful purpose. Thanks!

  • Latest File Updated

On top of showing all drives, the application should also gives the Latest File Updated.
  • Can only download files up to 30MB

I was also one of those unlucky few that flocked to this service because crash plan decided to abandon us non business customers.

I've been a member now for a couple of months. Seemed not so bad until I wanted to download a file on my phone that was 1GB. The app wouldn't let me do this on my iPhone, crash plan would let me do this all the time wherever I was. So keep in mind that this is an inferior service with an inferior iPhone app right off the bat. I'm still looking for another company for regular consumers that is as good as crash plan.

  • Great way to get files from home on the go!

I love this app because it lets me quickly get any of my files from my laptop even when I am on the other side of the world and forgot to bring it with me!

I expected better. Consumer service is lacking. App isn’t useful. It’s a bit slow to get things done. Want to listen a audio track you backed up? You have to wait for it to download. It doesn’t stream. And even after it does download and hit play. DON’T YOU DARE turn your screen off or leave the app. It resets its state, prompting you to log in again.

Coming from CrashPlan. This app is a disappointment. Design feels uninspired. It doesn’t seem you care about your users. The desktop app looks like it hasn’t been updated since it’s designed inception. Doesn’t even show the exact location it’s backing up current files from. Lacks timed pausing like CrashPlan where you can set how long the app should remain paused for. And so on.

This service to me has potential to be awesome. I just don’t feel they care about their user experiences.

    I’m now considering another service.

  • Crashes under OS11

Even after update to fix this
  • Crashes on launch both on iPhone SE and iPad Pro

Backup app that you can't launch. Nice 👍
  • Crashes when opened

Seems to be an issue with the latest iOS and this application. I've tried on two separate devices with the same issue - the app opens, then "thinks" for a minute before closing. I'm looking forward to an update/solution.
