  • Hate the payment

    I have to manually go to Square to charge. It doesn’t go through the app. If there is a card on file with square maybe. I can’t get the reader to work with the app but it works with square. Square allows me to just tap the card to my iPhone which is awesome but the app doesn’t. The only option I have is to manually enter and this isn’t always available. If I do enter manually it costs more. Yep hate this new app.

    Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience. All Square devices are compatible with the exception of the Square Register (Square's limitation for 3rd party apps using their mobile framework). If you are having trouble connecting your Square reader, ensure it is not connected within the Square app. To disconnect your reader from the Square app, you can go to bluetooth settings on your device and choose "Forget Device" for the Square reader. Then during checkout within MassageBook Manager it will reconnect. If you're still having trouble, Square may require you to disconnect and reconnect in your MassageBook account under Settings > Credit Card Processing. Our team is available to help however needed via support@massagebook.com or 843-352-2026. We hope Square will support tap-to-pay soon for their 3rd party mobile code-base, as we too would very much like that option! Let us know if you are still having trouble so we can help you avoid card-not-present fees!
  • Please add tip line signature back in

    It is awkward to hand my phone over without the signature option. I know that the signature wasn’t required but it seems tacky to now hand my phone to the client during check out with just tip options.

  • Work in progress

    I keep hoping for an update that makes sense. So far. They have not. I have used massage book for almost 6 years. But i am on the fence about staying due to the changes that are NOT beneficial. Something as simple as the color for specific appts makes a big difference when scheduling at a glance. Repetitively sending intake forms (when i do not have it set to send every appt) is annoying to clients and therapist having to answer the questions over and over ..

    Hello! The app definitely supports color coding of appointments by Service or by Staff, it just needs to be enabled in your MassageBook account under your Schedule Settings > Color Code appointments. Whatever you have set up there will transfer over to your app. The misfiring of intake forms to clients who already have one on file will be resolved in our next release, scheduled for this week. In the meantime, you can deselect the the "Intake Form" from the client's message settings in their client record, and they will not receive the additional form.   • Not great.

    I see the ways it hopes to be better than the older app but it doesn’t work. It won’t accept payments correctly or at all and I can’t view the same info from the intake forms. It isn’t as cell phone friendly as I had hoped. I will be happy to alter my review as soon as these issues are resolved.

    It really has helped my business work smoothly. Customer service is great. They are getting busy and I’ve noticed some delays on communication when I need to fix any problems but as a business woman I understand that with patience everything is possible to work out well and sure enough they always comeback to assist. They are improving on some imperfections but my business is still able to work around any glitches. I am a satisfied as a customer of Massage book. Thank you!

  • Many Issues

    Where do I start? It makes me look unprofessional when I cannot navigate my own business app!
    Most of the issues I was having have been resolved but this weekend, had a new client, she stood there for several minutes while I was trying to figure out why my Square Reader appeared to be working but I could not get to place to scan. It froze at scan. I finally went to the old app (MB) and manually entered card, which made my fees higher since it wouldn’t allow me to swipe!
    Not sure how, but my settings for online booking were changed - causing my clients to be forced to pay in advance. Another cost to me because neither of these clients pay by credit card normally 😡
    I went in and corrected that issue but cannot figure out how to correct whatever the problem NOW IS for swiping on square reader. Was fine last week.

  • Incomplete and buggy

    I had issues with the original Massagebook pro App suddenly not allowing me to see intake forms, so they recommend I try this one instead.
    At first I liked how smooth the fuctionality was and the different layout options for looking at the times, individual days, weeks or calendar month (the original could be a little slow and jump back to the present date when I didn’t want it too), and either checking the add ons after selecting service, and even remembering previous sessions and the add ons they prefered, so automatically clicking on it is an option.
    Plus I like that it gives my phone push notifications if someone books online (it’s a great deal less stress not having to constantly check my email to see if I’m getting any last second bookings)
    But 1 week in there are many more new problems. No matter how many times I try it won’t link up with my square software from checkout (even after linking it up via the browser version). I’m the sole proprieter of my business, but when I tried signing one of my regulars for the 3rd of her 4 package deal, it’s not even listed as an option for selection. I checked my practitioner profile in my business, on the Massagebook business APP it only lists me as offering 23 services when in the browser version it lists 31.
    When looking up clients in the original app it showed the full history, past and future appointments. Whereas now for some reason it only lists future times, and if you want to look back, you need to select what specific time you want to look at (which is just an extremely unnecessary added hurdle)
    I have resorted to just using the browser version on my tablet for payment and booking.

In regards to viewing past appointments, we are currently working on improvements to viewing past appointments that we expect to be available with the release of version 1.5. The other troubles you're experiencing will require a closer look.   • Insufficient-

    There is so little you can actually use on this APP easily and effectively that one might as well save oneself the headache and use the desktop version.

    Finally having a rebook option is great, but other than that. Meh. This is about the only thing I am currently using this app for.

    No longer has an add availability option.

    A key issue: Cannot see what each therapist availability is for the day. I just have to have their schedules memorized. I can see their blocked times, but not what they are scheduled for. Plus, the multiple tab options for viewing the schedule make it overly complicated. Finally, had my 60 year old therapist trained on the other app. She cannot navigate this one at all.

    Overall, getting feed up with MassageBook after four years. Especially the reporting system that makes it impossible to tally employees tips for a time period in sync with their appointment schedule without either running multiple reports or going into each client account individually. But that’s not an app issue. MassageBook must address it though for me to continue using them.

I'd like to address a few items that are important to you, and relay to you our sincere desire to make your experience with MassageBook a positive one. 1) Availability for Staff members is available once you select the client's service. We drop you into the highly requested "quick book" flow, which mirrors online booking. This ensures you see which Staff are available to perform the service, and when. To view all Staff appointments and what they are scheduled for, select the Schedule button on the main menu, and at the top right, choose the "filter" icon. There you can select which Staff's appointments display on the Schedule. 2) The "Add Availability" option is going through an extensive design process and will be in development very soon. This is a must for the MassageBook Manager app, and when it is released it will exceed any availability functionality available in the previous app. We're certainly happy to walk any staff members through the new app as they adjust to the new technology. Under no circumstances do we want the transition to be painful for you or your staff. We care deeply about the experience our customers have, and are committed to removing pain points, just as a massage therapist cares for their own clients. If we can serve you and your staff in any way moving forward, please don't hesitate to let us know and it will be our pleasure to do so.
  • Super Glitchy😩

    It continuously logs me out, and says it can’t find my business. It’s been a real hassle trying to check people out because it logs me out so much. Please fix this soon😭

  • Still in beta?

    I’m updating my review with an even lower rating. The app is a mess, and is not ready to be released and used. How can you call it a “manager” app when you can’t even use most of the features like viewing or sending intake forms?? I’m glad that SOAP notes are fixed now, but the app is useless if you can’t view or send intake forms. It’s fine if it’s a beta, but you released as if it was out of beta and it’s not. C’mon.

    The app is so much more fluid and snappier when it comes to navigation, but there is still a bug with viewing SOAP notes. They never load and always show a “something went wrong, try swiping down to reload” message. SOAP notes are so important, and I won’t probably use the app without that function. It would also be nice to be able to view account details like payments, credits and how many series a client has left of a series package. I’ll stick to the web based desktop version for now.

    Hi! Thank you for your review and your feedback! With version 1.1 we have resolved a bug with viewing SOAP Notes for some clients. So you should now be able to see all SOAP Notes without issue. If you continue to have troubles, please fill out the feedback form within the main menu of MassageBook Manager so we can take a closer look at the specifics of your account. With version 1.2 we have included the ability to send intake forms manually from client details and version 1.3, which is currently pending Apple review, will include the ability to view intake forms in full. MassageBook Manager will be continually updated with new features and functionality. We do plan to include a credits tab within client details in future releases, so be sure to keep your app updated.
