  • Great game

I’m old enough to remember the original Myst game when it first came out. All these years later, having a realistic fully 3D version of the exact same game feels like a fever dream, like I’m actually 10 years old again. THIS is what I had wanted Myst to be the first time - immersive.

This game is gorgeously rendered throughout, although some 3D models definitely look better than others (old textures?). I spent hours exploring every detail of every area - I couldn’t get enough. The game quite a difficult game overall, but you’ll get used to its logic eventually.

I can’t wait for the Riven remake. Just take my money now.

  • Refund

Downloaded app, very slow not worth it. Bought it because I thought it would be better. Want my $20 back because I didn’t play at all the game dunked after that and now won’t let me re download
  • Not bad

I’m glad this is made for mobile devices. The graphics are pretty good but the water looks even better and more realistic when the setting is on “Low”.

I hope one day you will bring Myst 3: Exile to mobile devices!
  • Super Frustrating Controls on iPad

I bought the mobleMyst, and have been playing on an iPad Air. The game is great EXCEPT trying to move around is soooo AGGRAVATING. When you move forward it zooms along super fast and you’re constantly overshooting the spot you want to travel to. Then its very slow and clunky trying to go around and try again. I’ve come to a puzzle that requires you to quickly move from one spot to another within a short time frame and it is IMPOSSIBLE! I give up, even though I’m half way through and wish I could play more. It’s just not fun.

BTW, I’ve tried both modes of control, legacy and virtual, and they are both extremely hard to manage. You need to take some advice from the guy who wrote “The Witness”, where moving around was easy.

  • It Sid good game

    I love thé game
  • I really wanted to play this

This is such a beautiful game. I had it in the 90s on a PC never to get through it; when I saw that it’s available for mobile like this, I was excited. But like so many others I am having trouble with the navigation even using the legacy mode. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and an iPad Pro 5th generation. There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said in other reviews so I think I will just have to put this aside and wait until maybe another update makes it easier to keep from going behind all of the things I want to be in front of and to move at a pace that is consistent and dependable.

Hi there, we'd love to hear about what exactly you'd like to see from navigation in Myst Mobile at support@cyan.com. Thank you!
  • Joystick

Apparently you need a joystick to navigate. Shockingly, I don’t have one for my telephone
  • Not for the phone

I found game play controls to be very difficult to use on an iphone. Moving around the 1st person POV was extremely difficult.

However, I would welcome the opportunity to play this on a game console or PC.

The difficulty of MYST was that you had to try a million combinations and actions to move beyond a set piece and you never knew if you were making progress. Would love to see more of this type of game design in the app world. I don’t mind paying outright for a game, but the endless in-game purchase options are extremely annoying and why I have difficulty finding a game app to stick with for more than a few days.

Hi there, we welcome you to try “legacy navigation mode”, which is offered as one-touch navigation in the menu. Or you could use the virtual gamepad controls if you prefer hand-held movement without a physical gamepad as well. We only have one in-app purchase, and that is simply to unlock the rest of the game after being able to explore all of Myst Island. We are sorry that you are dismayed by the in-app purchase options offered by other applications than Myst Mobile. We do hope you give Myst Mobile another chance some day! Thank you for playing.
  • Absolutely beautiful

The attention to detail is amazing. I enjoyed the play, but there were times I would just stop and look at the scenery, the moving clouds and waves, it’s just beautiful.

  • Takes me back! (Was: No audio)

For some reason, there is no audio on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and on my A12X era iPad Pro. I really want to play the game but without audio, I can’t.

Edit: It turns out that I had the mute switch turned on on both the devices. It’s off to have a game respond to that switch. But I’m happy to be able to replay the game and relive the memories.

I only discovered the option to play the original game animations after I finished the game. I think I’ll go back and repay the whole game with that option turned on as the CGI faces are odd.

Hi there, just in case, it would be work making sure that the volume settings on your phone allow for sound to be played (make sure your phone is not in “muted” mode with the physical toggle). Otherwise, please send us information about your device to support@cyan.com. Thanks so much!
