I saw that you addressed a number of criticisms from people (including mine) and you updated the game a bit! Much, much better! Seeing the old video suits the mood of the game better I think. Also, The controls feel much more refined than before, and the options make it much more playable on mobile. I am glad to hear you guys are reading the criticisms and taking them in consideration! Game is beautiful, and I think youre on the right track! Now, go do Riven and the rest!!! Ive been wanting to play through them for years, and their availability is getting more and more limited!

    **First Review**

Graphically its great, but there are a number of oddities that make it difficult. You cant really zoom in on text or images like you can in other games of the same type. Myst basically invented the genre, but games like The Room and House of DaVinci have long since refined it. But what kills this for me, and makes me want to play "RealMYST" is all the cutscenes and video has been replaced with mediocre CGI faces and heads. It looks as bad as when someone thought it would be a good idea to insert "enchanced" CGI into ST:TOS cutscenes, instead of just remastering the original models, or when Lucas made Han shoot first.

*edit* I took my own advise a redownloaded RealMyst and it is easily a far superior game. The problem with this latest version of Myst is its trying to come off as a game made today. So all the charm and delight of the Original Myst is gone. Myst was made 30 years ago, and as a game it stands the test of time. I wanted to love New Myst, or "Nü Myst" but its just not there. Sorry and thanks for the effort, but you should have done Riven as you did RealMyst.

  • No Apple Pen Support

When you add apple pencil support, I will gladly purchase.

Not over extending my finger every time and deal with wrist fatigue, wrist sprains, or sore finger tips from constantly tapping glass.

    • I turned on legacy mode
    • I chose one touch
    • On apple mini (6th Edition)
    • iPad OS 16.3.1

    “Does Not Support Apple Pencil”

    Lastly:
*VERY BAD* design regarding navigation, why make people *hold in* finger against screen to move forward? —> do you want to introduce fatigue to the player?

a simple —> tap the screen once, and player moves to the tapped area is good mobile ergonomics.

Jonathan Blow already figured this out for you on iOS with the game called:

Hi there, we are sorry that you are unable to play Myst comfortably at this time. We do offer a variety of input options, including using a gamepad, or using the virtual gamepad controls if you do not have a gamepad, or even the one-touch method you noted. Apple Pencil support is not planned at this time. We appreciate your feedback nonetheless!
  • The game is better now

The latest update made it so the text in books in the game can be read!
  • Unlock price is too much

It was fun to replay this game. The graphics look very nice and smooth. The control is a bit frustrating though and made it incredibly hard to do the tree lift. I actually found myself missing the tap to move controls of the original. I also could only pay for short bursts as my iPhone SE was getting scarily hot.

Despite my misgivings I thought I may as well pay to unlock the rest of the game for old times sake. £14.99! That’s ridiculous. I was willing to accept £7.99, that’s the most I’d ever pay for a mobile game. £14.99 is too much for an old game ported onto mobile guys, sorry.

Hi there, thanks for your review! You may find the control setting “legacy navigation mode” in the control settings menu may be what you’re looking for in navigation style. We’re sorry that you’re disappointed about the price; this is a new version of Myst we worked very hard to create from scratch only within the last few years. Thank you for enjoying Myst regardless!
  • I find the controls not suited for mobile

I know that this is a great game, it did things games had not done before, and I never managed to solve the DS version but I spent quite a bit of time on it. Because it was a gorgeous world and the music too.

But on mobile, it’s a different experience. There’s no tutorial on the controls, and they’re rather jerky where you wouldn’t expect, and smooth in sudden ways. Might need a tutorial for the settings such as adjusting graphics quality.

I feel like what I find issue with would be resolved if there was a suitable tutorial for newcomers, esp as mobile and other controllers are a different experience, and also a smoother and better moving around control experience.

Trying to look around and move and end up bumping into things and not getting to see notes up close was a bummer, esp having to switch around perspectives left or right. It also felt like there was a narrative missing after [spoilers]
The guy had his book fall. After all now there’s someone else who ended up here. I could’ve sworn there was some thought bubbles in the original as well, who knows, I could be wrong

But basically, this adaptation for mobile needs some more adapting. I hope the best for a future update

Hi there. Thanks for playing! You may find our “legacy navigation mode” to be more suitable for the gameplay navigation you’re looking for. You can find this option in the controls settings, and it’s a part of a tutorial message in 1.9.3. Cheers!
  • Game won’t launch

Game opens then crashes instantly iPhone 12 mini
  • Not fun at all

Wandered around for hours and couldn’t progress. Watched a video, did exact same thing as in video and the game did not progress and show clues, like in video. Game is bugged and broken. Wasted time but happy I didn’t waste money and pay for full game :)
  • Navigation is Horrible.

Playing this on my iPad Pro, and navigation is horrible. It is difficult to move in a controlled manner, especially when trying to get to the opening in the tree in time from the shed. I have yet to get there in time to get into the opening. Great graphics and story, but without better control over speed and direction, unplayable for me.

Hi there, have you tried our “legacy navigation mode”? It is available in the controls settings menu. Additionally, the tree puzzle can be solved at a much slower rate (SPOILERS AHEAD): just lower the crank only slightly and tree will move down at a very slow rate.
  • Lower the price!

Was very disappointed when I learned that you have to pay $15 to unlock the whole game! Not even worth $15, game isn’t that big to begin with, least drop it down to $10. If this was riven remastered like this I would probably spend $15 maybe, but not on mist!
  • Myst

This is a very good game to play
