We do not currently have any plans to support lower gen iPads or iPhones in Myst, as it would significantly compromise the visual fidelity of the game. So glad I encountered this when I did. I remember playing Myst shortly after launch, at which time I was too young to solve the puzzles on my own. Very well implemented for use on mobile, can’t wait for the same treatment with Riven!ScottKrank

I played all of these games on my Mac computer when they were first released. I was looking forward to solving the game again. I was sorely disappointed in the controls and I used both types included in this version. it is Very hard to accurately move through the scenes and often the controls zoom in and you can’t judge where you are. Trying to get to specific controls head on is near impossible. I play many games on my iPad and this has the worst controls I have ever used.Show lessOld gamer53

Hi there, if you do not prefer using the Virtual Gamepad, you may appreciate using “Legacy Navigation Mode” which is accessible through the controls settings menu. Let us know if this helps!Very good!
I bought every version of iOS Myst so far and I guess I’ll be buying another!
It’s great and the controls make it so much more fun to me.
I don’t understand why other people are complaining about the controls but they probably just are not used to mobile gaming. I find them to be very responsive and nice to use. And the setting you can change however you want.
And I’ve found the upgrades to be very tasteful.

Myst is the best fantasy adventure game ever made, from the sounds to the music to the puzzles and story nothing beats it and never will. I am completely transported to another world playing Myst, I already have the original game on my iPad but this looks magnificent and well worth purchasing and it’s been enough time to warrant another play through as I can’t remember the puzzles, I’m having no problems with this version working and don’t understand why previous reviewer thinks a controller is needed. As I had always wanted to experience it!
I had never gotten into the original format but this new version drew me in from the beginning. Makes me want to go back and read all of the books again! Highly recommended! I hope you do the same for all of the other games! Some minor feedback:
- The photo album feature is great but it hobbled by the 50 photo limit and the inability to choose multiple pages to delete. Having some organizational structure would make this much better
- Only two save slots
- Would be nice to be able to fast jump to previous locations in the same age or to be able to speed up the travelling distance
- Still some stuttering and performance issues ( I have an M1 iPad Pro with 1TB of storage and 16GB of ram)
- Have you thought about a cloud-save feature so you can continue your adventure regardless of which platform you are playing (iOS/MacOS)
- Some minor issues when using the Magic Keyboard for iPad

Okay, I haven’t yet played through this game but so far, it’s awesome. Kudos to the Developers for a beautiful reboot of a venerable old-school point-and-click adventure on its 30th anniversary. I’m playing on a 5th edition iPad Pro 12.9” with an M1 chip, running iOS 16, and the graphics are stunningly beautiful, rivaling any console game I’ve yet to encounter. The controls are smooth, the sound quality and music is excellent, no constructive criticism to offer yet — and I’ve been gaming on iOS since 2009, having posted many reviews (including a substantive number of negative ones). Anyway, I made the IAP to get the intro discount but also to express my support of Cyan for what I hope will be a masterpiece of mobile gaming. …So far, so good — I will try to update this review at a later date after I have had a chance to make significant progress or likely even play through until the end.Show lesssjm49
