Blood pressure readings don’t sync with Apple Health.

Pairing the blood pressure cuff to the app was glitchy and it took me several attempts to get it to pair. Worse, it takes seemingly forever to transmit a single BP reading to the app after it’s taken, to the point where I thought the transfer had failed.

Overall app is just OK. I haven’t tried actually accessing medical help through it yet. However the app has one huge shortcoming that means I won’t be using it at all for the advertised Ana offered disease management of my hypertension. That shortcoming is that the BP readings in the app don’t sync with Apple Health. Given that every other health metric that I track is stored in Apple Health from apps that sync with Apple Health, the Teladoc app in its current form is useless to me for tracking my BP readings. If I switched to it, I would either have to take my BP twice, once with the Teladoc/Livongo device and once with the device I’ve been using, so that I have a record in Apple Health, or I would have to enter the Teladoc/Livongo device reading into Apple Health manually. The lack of syncing with Apple Health is puzzling, given that the app does read steps data from Apple Health. Come on! This is seriously basic stuff!

No thanks. I’ll just keep doing what I’ve been doing and won’t be reconsidering switching to this app for BP tracking until an update is released that syncs with Apple Health.

Horrendous service and unprofessional!!

Do NOT waste your time! If I could give zero stars I would. It doesn’t matter the severity of your situation. They are extremely unprofessional. I have tried to use them multiple times for completely different situations/conditions and they were completely useless. (Over the span of several years)They cancel your scheduled appointments at the last possible second. (I’m not over exaggerating) this last time, they immediately called me but I was on hold on a phone call for OVER an hour and 20 mins. I was emailing, texting and calling while they were trying to cancel my appointment, the reason being that they couldn’t reach me, WHILE I was waiting on hold the whole time from the number they called me on! Then the actual doctor spoke to me, I promise you, under 4 mins. I can provide screenshots of everything. I have strep, because I took my son into urgent care earlier this week and got it from him. He didn’t even proscribe me anything! He told me the reason of my throat swelling (making it difficult to breathe) and pustules, and what looked like fish eggs in my throat is due to my runny nose…I hung up at this point. What a joke! Wasted my whole day! The whole institution! EVERY TIME I’ve given them a chance! This was just the final straw. I will NEVER give them another chance. 3 strikes. Going to urgent care is worth the effort and money. Don’t waste any of your resources with anything linked to this institution!

Best telehealth service ever!

I have used Teledoc at least a handful of times and not only are they cheap but all the doctors are very professional and nice! Which is a hard combination to find. They also don’t rush you and give you other education on things you can do as well. I just called yesterday after trying to reach my primary care doctor all day long on a Friday due to testing positive for Covid. And no call back from my primary doctor at all! And I have long covid and multiple auto immune disease. So late on a Friday I called Teladoc paid my 20$ since they have a discount due to my health insurance and was called immediately by a very nice Dr. D and she immediately started me on covid medication which I can feel working within a day. The last two times I had Covid nothing was available or was even able to obtain. But I won’t waste time next time. I will just call Teledoc and talk to someone that acts like they care. They also have a very responsive customer service if you forgot something or need help! They even will see you without insurance and are relatively cheap too.
I tell all my coworkers and friends about them!

Bugs and glitches galore right now

The app is beautifully designed and has fairly intuitive UI/UX, but there are just so many bugs. Tried to join the waiting room for my appointment this morning, only for the next screen to pop up for a split second, disappear, and a half cut-off yellow error message at the top of the screen to pop up. I did this probably 10-15 times trying to enter the room. I had two appointments booked in advance, and the second screen with my next appointment details had the date and add to calendar button completely overlapping on the same line. The app makes me go through the same intro screens every time I log in. Seemingly not a big deal, but super annoying to click through prompts about sharing health data, location, remembering password, etc. every single time. This info should be saved and not addressed every time. Similarly, having to fill out the mental health questionnaire each time you want to schedule an appointment with your provider is so frustrating. Maybe shorten it after the initial visit, just to check up on things that change often? It takes forever and is unnecessary to address before each (sometimes weekly) meeting. The animations between screens are nice, but move slow and get old when trying to move quickly. It tends to drag, and gives the app a slow and lagging feel. This is a small detail but it drives me nuts lol The services are great, but the app tends to hinder the experience.

Horribly glitchy and over use’s notifications

I HATE HATE HATE this app. I’ve been using for my therapist and psychiatrist and OH MY GOD does the app send TOO MANY notifications. “Action required please log in” so you log in, and there’s nothing for you to fill out it just shows the appointments I have that I already confirmed. Then it suddenly cancels my appointments because I “didn’t respond” fast enough?? THERE WAS NOTHING FOR NE TO CLICK ON. Or it decides my password doesn’t work anymore when it worked 10 minutes before, or the day before. So I now have to reset my password again. And then I do log in and it kicks me out of the waiting room saying there’s connection issues with my camera, so I call customer service to ask what’s going on and they say it’s my therapist who has connections issues and she’ll call within an hour, only for her to call while I’m talking to customer service, but it’s an UNKOWN number so can’t call back.

And then I do finally get to talk to her because I scheduled a regular phone call instead of a video visit and the app now has 3 separate appointments scheduled with her for the EXACT SAME DAY AND TIME while sending me 8 texts within 2 days about those same appointments when there’s no new information about them. Absolutely hate the app itself and it stresses me out to the point I’m thinkig of quitting therapy just so I don’t have to use Teledoc anymore. I don’t care if my depression gets horrible again this app is the absolute worst.

Doctors Excuse

Well, first of all. I can’t even see what I’m going right now because the text is blank. So hopefully you will be able to understand this review. This app is so glitchy and maybe they are doing work on it but I’ve had to make three accounts now just to get my correct insurance logged in. Oh and if your insurance changes you can’t change iit in the app.
Today I called for doctors for a cold and I had to miss work. It took me 30 mins just to try and log in and eventually how to call the help desk. They had to create a profile and that took another 30 mins. Then I finally got my phone call and it ended up being fifty dollars because that’s all my insurance would cover. Other websites do it for much less.
The doctor finally sees me to basically tell me all I have is some allergies and that he couldn’t prescribe me antibiotics. I had to miss work for two days because of this I’ll eas. So he prescribed me two meds for allergies that you can get over the counter for cheaper. He promised that he’d give me a doctors excuse but he did not. When I called the help desk for an explanation they basically said, we know he said he would but he didn’t and there is no way to contact him. They told me I’d have to schedule another fifty dollar appointment and that a doctors ecxcuse wouldn’t be promised. I told my job that I would have an excuse and they are expecting it. So now I havpeto go to work with no excuse.

Long waiting times just to never get an appointment.

Most of the closest scheduling times for therapy appointments are about a month away or more and once the day finally comes almost every single time they ether cancel or don’t show up. I got lucky with a psychiatrist kind of, better than most but still wouldn’t prescribe me medically necessary medication. Told me psychiatrist don’t prescribe it. But every other psychiatrist I’ve ever met does prescribe it. Docs are kind of alright but a lot of times you have to explain yourself over and over till they finally understand what your trying to tell them. If I wouldn’t have argued with this last doc, I would be in massive pain and exhaustion, possibly be in the hospital bc I had a extremely high fever. I could barely move without being in pain, it hurt to even wear a shirt, and one second I was way too hot, next way too cold. But he wasn’t going to prescribe me the medication I needed anyway in-till I re explained over and over and argued. If you have the option to not use this service, please don’t use it. Soon enough I won’t be using it anymore. It’s a waste of time, effort, pain if your sick, and and you’ll likely not receive medically necessary treatment as needed. You might a little if your good at advocating for yourself, even then not so much. If you can’t advocate for yourself, please practice or this service is pointless.

Overly Difficult to Set-Up

Despite the near-household name status this app has, I was amazed by the inability to get started.
First I had to shutoff Apple auto-passwords because I couldn’t write in my own password and it would erase once I moved onto the next field. Never had that happen before with any app.
Next, I had to swap out of the app and it closed me out every time, but differently. The first time I had to reopen and close the app two more times to be able to log back in. This is when I set up Face ID login so it wouldn’t happen again. (It did, twice more. In fact I think logging in with Face ID make the app struggle more.) The second time, it accepted Face ID three separate times but wouldn’t open. Closed app again. The third and final time, told me my entered password was incorrect (maybe it was) but Face ID was fine.
I understand it’s a medical app, and the insanely fast timeout might be a result of that. However, it only logged me out if I was looking to my browser for my Dr’s contact information, not when I opened Teams or iMessage.
The biggest mind blower to me is the fact that “Specialist, Graphics Designer” and “Veterinarian” rank higher than “FAMILY MEDICINE” or “OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY”. In what world would I be searching for a graphics designer or veterinarian when setting up my medical providers? It’s laughable.

Lacking on the customer service end

I had a visit and the doctor provided me a work note due to Covid. My job is big on work notes or you can’t return until you get one. The Teladoc website and app weren’t allowing me or none of the 6 customer service reps to open the link to the note, the agents stayed on the phone with me for 30 plus minutes trying to resolve and when they realized the couldn’t do anything they’d put me on hold for 10mins straight without checking on me then it would automatically send me to the “end of call survey” I rated 5 agents a “1” and requested a callback from management (still hasn’t happened) they don’t care to even coach their employees for there lack of service, of course they’re going to have that type of behavior. Long story short it took 5 days to finally get a not and I got an attendance occurrence because by the time they emailed me the note it had already been one day beyond the date that the note excused me. I only used them because I didn’t want to go outside my home and possibly pass my Covid to people, in hindsight I would’ve just went to my pcp. Terrible experience. Never even received an apology, acknowledgement or anything, I’ve reached out in every way possible.

Insane wait times

UPDATE: Tried to give this app another chance. The good news is I heard from someone within 5 minutes this time. However, they couldn’t treat me and told me to go to an in-person doctor. I was still charged $50 and teladoc refuses to refund even though services were not provided. I am disputing with my bank. Don’t use this service.

Original review: The app said I should be able to speak with a doctor today. I set up to receive a call at 5:45 AM, 13 hours later I still haven’t been contacted. Customer support does not have any idea how long it will take for someone to reach out to me. At this rate, I could have went to urgent care and saved myself the hassle. But I’ve already been charged $50 for an appointment when a doctor hasn’t called me. Update: Spoke to customer service on the phone. All she could say was I’d hear from someone soon, without proving an ETA. I explained I was upset with the lack of communication and she hung up on me. I called back and got the same agent again, who said she didn’t realize she hung up on me, even though she did when I was mid-sentence. I wasn’t raising my voice, being rude, or name calling. I didn’t say or do anything offensive… there was no reason to end the call other than she didn’t want to be bothered. People like this shouldn’t work in health care.
