The app supports everything I toss at it in the free version, comics, manga, old video game magazines from the ‘90s... but I just had to buy it because it’s clear a lot of work’s gone into it. Clear;y it’s a passion project, and I appreciate it! The addition of an image compiler, saving individualized color choices for moods or materials is just the kind of thing you don’t realize you wanted until it’s there. I love the simple layout and customization offered in both free and paid versions. The truth is that it just works, and better than several apps I’ve paid for in the past. This is by far my most used app for entertainment on my iPad Pro. Oh, and being able to sort and collapse groups is a godsend for my organization. No stability issues after 6mo of heavy use. Fantastic app but has a couple bugs with the paid tier
I love this app and it does everything I need it to.
Unfortunately there’s a bug with the paid tier - while it lets you add books through the cloud, which is great, those books don’t save your progress, which makes that feature all but unusable. Please fix!alsdkfjas
All round amazing
I used to use chunky to fulfill my graphic novel needs and it was amazing for that. I even upgraded to the pro version despite there being no need to because the base version is already solid. I just wanted to support the creator. But the most amazing thing for me is that I’m able to read pdf books for school in this program and it’s so seamless.Show lessopikali
Missing Vertical Scroll for Web Comics
Great app but the WebDAV paid feature doesn’t seem to work.
It’s also missing a web comic mode which is very popular nowadays!alfonsopeter

was working fine, but now…
i did something the other day and now Chunky does not sync automatically. to get it to sync, i have to Browse iCloud and create a new folder. THEN it will start to sync. i have no idea what i did, but i've tried logging out of iCloud on my iPad, restarting it and my iMac both, deleting Chunky from iCloud and my iPad, then reinstalling, and NOTHING has made it work. :( it's hardly the end of the world, but it's an annoyance.
otherwise, everything seems to work more-or-less correctly, tho it still has the issue where, when i've been reading and then stop and use several other apps, and Chunky has to reload, it throws an error (“Cannot load (null)” or some such) and then has to rebuild the library, which resets ALL of my reading progress. as long as i remember to close the issue i'm reading before i go do other stuff on the iPad, it's fine.Show lessCarlamatic
Terrific App
I’ve tried other comic readers, and while they were good, they are not as good as Chunky. I was amazed at Chunky's functions to improve the visual clarity of comic pages. Comics pages that I found faded and uncomfortable to read in other readers became sharp and clean in Chunky. Obviously, I don’t expect miracles with old, badly scanned material, but Chunky has done a good to great job with what I’ve thrown at it so far.
The ability to link to a Chunky folder on your Google drive makes downloading and managing a collection easy overall. Chunky also does a good job of sorting your comics as you add them.
I have the paid version, and am glad I bought it. I can only hope that the developer of this app continues to improve an already excellent program.Show less28LongYearsAfter
Absolutely best in class
I have been using Chunky for years. I have tried many comic readers, and this one is by far the best. Ease-of-use, supports every format I can throw at it, syncs to my computer and my download folders… Couldn’t ask for anything else.echose7en
Needs some love
So glad this is still being maintained but it sure could use a bit of love. At the very least fixing the little things like icon misalignments world be great. Shame the dev gave up on iPhone app as a sync reading experience would be great. Also would be nice to be able to edit metadata of comics as that seems a bit tricky to do anywhere.

ComicRack 2.0
Brilliant app that works as a great replacement for the defunct comicrack. How you import comics, while varied, does take a bit of getting used to. Once you get over that hurdle though it works perfectly.Shibby06
