Watch out for over charges
I have used it several times because I thought it was more cost effective than using Instacart or other delivery services, but I was dead wrong.
With the other apps, you are refunded for the items that they are out of, but not when you use the Shaws app.
Not only have I been charged for items that were out of stock, but after going item by item on my online/app orders I noticed that on average the cost I was charged for my order was $25-$30 more than what it actually totaled on my calculator. I did the math 3 times and came up with a subtotal that was at least $25 less than what I was charged through the app.
Bottom line is that, although they aren’t showing you the up charges like Instacart or DoorDash shows you upfront, you’re still paying them PLUS you are not reimbursed for items that are out of stock.
