  • Update did not fix Crashes and metrics

Edited Review…… App is working great after I bought a new phone and I watch. The apple store manager said that the iwatch I had could not be updated any longer when apple rolled out updates because it was to old and this could have been causing the issues with the peloton app. Since I upgraded my watch and bought a new phone everything has been working. So I am not sure it was the peloton app that was not working properly or the fact that apple was again making it so old phones and watches were not working with some apps so I am changing my rating to better reflect my experience.

The app still crashes with outdoor workouts sometimes right away sometimes in the middle of the run or walk. This is frustrating and a waste of time having to stop and restart from the beginning. How can a company this big not have an IT team that can fix this! The metrics for the running and walking program for when you walk inside that synced with the watch used to calculate distance nope not anymore! Please fix this and no I don’t need to contact you again I’ve done it serval times and all the troubleshooting you all had me do did not fix the issue. Frustrating when you are tying to keep track of your milage. Please Fix this. Your last update didn’t…ugh use to be a great app.

  • Heart rate drop outs constantly

The app has stopped working on the last 4-6 weeks dropping my Apple Watch 7 heart rate from the screen. It is frustrating and I have done all recommended potential fixes. I paired watch, reinstalled app., all the settings reviewed. In particular with cycle. My watch works with cross rope app perfectly (skipping) and Apple fitness cycle and HIIT. My green sensors are on. It’s not the watch. Have sent formal complaint to support. No feedback yet. Sadly I will need to cancel my subscription if it doesn’t work in the coming weeks as I cannot justify paying for an app that doesn’t do what it says it should.

Would appreciate if someone debugged and found the issue.

If anyone else in the community is having same issue please support me with your feedback.

    Thanks

  • Great classes … issues to resolve with running

First of all, absolutely love the peloton classes almost across the board, I have the bike and guide and it’s well worth the investment in my opinion, I’m fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been.

I don’t yet have the tread ( live in flat and way too noisy) and use a gym for the treadmills. The app doesn’t track distance right which is incredibly frustrating, especially as it is coming up with the pace which is almost identical to reading on treadmill, but the distance remains at zero for the first 4-5 mins and then starts reading. For someone who uses the metrics / badges as motivation / tracking this is incredibly annoying ! Love the product overall though

Our team has implemented a fix to iOS distance tracking issues and are monitoring the results. We recommend members upgrade their iOS app to version 15.29.0 for an improved experience with distance tracking.
  • Overall a good exercise app

I’ve been using Peloton for around 6 months now and have been doing some form of exercise from the app almost daily. I like the instructors, the variety of workouts available and the programs are good for a more structured routine too.
My biggest gripe is that you cannot pre-load a program until you clear the workout before. I understand not being able to watch it, but all I want to do is preload my workouts for that program for the day (usually the warmup, main workout and cool-down) but I cannot do that without first completing the warmup. I don’t have much data nor good signal where my weights are, so this is very annoying.
Another minor complaint is the pause button is very fiddly to actually press. Sometimes I need to change weight plates from my dumbbells for the next exercise, or the dog runs in and I need to get her out of the way…the amount of times I’ve fought trying to press pause only for the information on the screen to appear and hide multiple times is becoming more frustrating each day.

Overall though, I am enjoying using the app despite the criticism above.

  • Glitchy with Apple Watch

Good app but glitchy when trying to use with Apple Watch. The biggest issue is when running on a treadmill, distance doesn’t always record, and when it is 10 or so minutes after commencing a workout.
  • Best workout app ever!

I’ve tried so many different workout apps/programs but honestly Peloton wins by far. Such great variety, fun music playlists, hilarious instructors, many levels of difficulty and duration. Makes it hard to not workout when you have so many options! Can’t fault it.
  • Pretty good, but I would love a way to pause programs

I’ll start by saying I’m mostly happy with the app. There’s a lot of content to choose from, I work up a sweat, and there are beginner classes that are great for me, a person who really only started working out in earnest a few months ago. My only gripe is that once you start a program, it gives a set amount of days to finish the program. So if you get sick, or if anything else comes up that takes you out of the game for more than a day (and I type this as I’m feeling I’ll and knowing I won’t be up for working out for at least a few days), you’re out of luck, and those classes just get skipped. Even if you do them later, it doesn’t count. And if you’re doing a program that’s more than just two to three days a week, you’ll never catch up. Anyway, I’m a big fan of programs. I’m not an athlete, I’m not a trainer, so I like to have someone tell me what to do and when, but I really wish this app allowed for some life to get in. Alternatively, my preference would be to not timebox programs at all. Nike doesn’t, why does peloton need to? But if it MUST be timeboxed, at least give me the option to say “I can’t do this right now, but that doesn’t mean I want to give up”.

  • Multiple choice

Great selection of classes for every mood
  • In love!

I’ve never been good about self care and although I’ve joined gyms in the past, going never became a habit. In my mid 40’s now, high blood pressure, short of breath after inactivity from thr pandemic, over 200 lbs, and in the process of being tested for MS… finally decided to “try” the gym again. The Peloton app has been a game changer for me. After just 2 weeks, I can run for 25 min straight (I probably couldn’t even do that in high school). The app is so easy to use. I usually do the elliptical at the gym because it doesn’t hurt my brain as much and I’ve used the Outdoor (audio only) and videos to guide me. The structure of each video is so great! I used to be a clock watcher on the boring machine, but with the app it’s about getting through small parts of the without. The trainers are so personable and walk me through the whole thing. I love the positive messages throughout the workout. There are lots of phrases of acceptance and inclusion. For the first time in my life, I feel good about working out!

  • Together we can’t got far

App continually crashes on outdoor runs. Peloton support crew said that I use a different device, ie my Laptop. Can’t run with a Laptop unfortunately. They keep trying to fob me off and close my query. If outdoor runs stopped crashing, app would get 5 stars.
*Update* The advice to contact the support crew is unusual, as support’s suggestion (per the original review above) is to turn my device on and off again, contact Apple or run with a different device, ie Laptop and allege that since no one else is having the same problem they’re is nothing they can do.
The support crew frankly seem stumped and simply appear that they can’t be bothered trying to address my problem.
Other members of the Peloton community have expressed a similar problem on the Facebook community page.
An update is required to address the problems as currently it is not fit for purpose.
