Won't let me get delivery from my desired store

I live between two star market locations. They are ALMOST equidistant (one is 0.7 mi and one is 0.6 mi), but one is MUCH better than the other. Suddenly the app won't let me order delivery from the location that actually carries the products that I want. Instead, it now defaults to the location that I typically avoid (because they don't carry the items I'm looking for). As a result, my cart is missing the things that I need, and Star market is missing out on money from my order! Please fix this feature -- this is so frustrating!! I will literally spend more money if this is resolved!

The most addictive app on my phone

I love this app. I love being able to shop sales and coupons, I love the weekly or monthly free items, I love being able to search recipes for days when I don’t know what to make… I love not getting sucked in with impulse buys in the checkout lane … or feeling pressured to chitchat with the neighbor in the freezer aisle. I’ll say it again, I love this app!

Worst app

This is the most annoying app and the worst is that you have to use it in order to get discounts. They have deals, but you don’t find out about them until you go to the supermarket unless you spend hours reading ads. If you go to the supermarket and the deals, you can’t get them because Internet does not work in the supermarket no matter how hard you try. The only way to get their deals to click on every single one of them and there are about 300 before you go to the market. This is Justine incredibly bad system. It must’ve been designed by an idiot.

Can’t choose store for delivery

I live right by a smaller Star Market then have another one an additional half mile away. The further one has everything I want to order for delivery. The closer one normally does not. While the pickup option lets me choose the store, delivery does not. It will only allow me to choose the closer one, even though the further one is still in delivery range. Because of this, I normally can only get half the things I want because the closer Star only has so much. This is a stupid choice on the developer’s part and should be changed so people will be able to get what they need if they cannot drive.

Convenient

The fact that I can get on my phone and keep a running shopping list is of great help to me.
I am partially disabled and it is difficult to walk the store. Everything is fresh and neatly packed.
All I have to do is have someone drive up and the order is put in the car.
Thank you for this wonderful convenience.

Overall, I’m satisfied, except for the produce; in particular, fruit. Thrice I’ve bought avocados & pears, which are rotten inside. Out of 3 pears, 2 were inedible, & 4 out of 6 avocados were black inside. I’m aware of the difficulty in detecting such a problem, but I suggest giving the customer a chance to exchange or discount the value of the rotten items.

It’s my go to store

Stop and Shop is too big, Big Y is too small, Market Basket you can’t communicate with anyone. Star Market is Just Right! BUT, they often take things off the shelf that I buy religiously which infuriates me and why they don’t get 5 stars. Most recently the swapped out their Romain lettuce hearts with the Signature brand which inferior in my opinion. I’d rather pay a dollar more than pay for that stuff.
One of the best chips out there is Off the Eaten Path. I bought them every week, now their gone. Suave mousse and Lever soap I believe are gone too. I don’t understand why they have to do this. It shouldn’t always be about profit margins it should be about your customers.
That all being said, I still like it better than the other places and their app is way better than Big Y.

The service is okay, the app is extremely glitchy

If you opt for delivery, they will often not bring large items. The app is always glitching and causing my phone to freeze. The discounts often require jumping through meticulous hoops that make it easy to not actually get it in the end.

Time Saver but Inconsistent Order Fullfillment

I’ve used this service for about 2 years now and it saves hours of time a week I would spend shopping in person. The app functions well and makes finding savings and price comparisons easier than wandering around the store. The feature that lists your most frequently bought items is probably the best part of the app.
The downsides are that delivery windows of 1 hour (ex. 5-6PM) frequently are either delivered exactly as the window begins or up to an hour later with about 10 percent of orders never getting delivered for one reason or another. Additionally, products listed as available at the time of ordering can be out of stock by the time the order is assembled in store and substitutions are frequently doubly expensive. About 80 precent of my orders have at least one item out of stock despite being staple items like rice or chicken.
Overall, a time saver but the headache of managing repeated delivery mistakes and fulfillment issues has me looking at other delivery services.

Kind of a sneaky app, but necessary for deals

The app isn’t too bad, definitely something you need to get the best deals at star market. But it’s a little sneaky - make sure deals are clipped, otherwise they don’t apply. And if you sign up the day you go grocery shopping, beware. The app doesn’t actually work until 24 hours after sign up, and doesn’t give you any sort of heads up on the delay.

The app is more of a necessary evil to shop at star market than truly helpful. It’s coupon clipping with additional personal information collecting and more marketing. But it does help you save money.
