mcdonalds is money hungry

This app used to be good. But as prices of mcdonalds slowly goes up, the deals in the app slowly get worse. At this point im probably going to just delete the app and stop eating mcdonalds all together. You used to be able to get a free any size frappe with a purchase of $3. They changed it to a small frappe. You used to be able to get an any sized fry for $1. Now its any size fry for $1 with a minimum purchase of $2. You used to be able to get a free quarter pounder with the purchase of a quarter pounder. Now its 29¢ for a quarter pounder with the purchase of a quarter pounder. At this point its really not worth having the app and getting frustrated after changing all the deals that made the app worth having. UPDATE!!!!!!!! Its now get a quarter pounder 20% off when you buy one. Its now any size frappe with a purchase of $5. Deals are consistently getting worse. UPDATE!!!!! They got rid of the buy one get one quarter pounder and its now 30% off any quarter pounder. They also got rid of the free frappé completely and replaced it with $1.50 off a frappe. Deals are still getting consistently worse. I also feel its worth mentioning that the prices of everything on the menu has increased again. UPDATE!!!!! Instead of a free any size fry with a purchase of $2, its now a forced medium fry with the purchase of 2 dollars. Prices went up and deals are still getting worse. UPDATE!!!!! You can no longer get a free fry. Its now $1.49 for an any size fry.

fix the location feature

i think this is the first time i have ever written a review for an app. i am tired of the location feature. if the last location you ordered from is the one you are going to order from now, 100% of the time it will automatically update the location to a nearby but wrong location. if the last location you ordered from is 8 miles away from your current location, 100% of the time it will leave the location alone, allowing you to order from a location nowhere near you. you cannot change the location after submitting your order without canceling the order, which prevents you from using another deal for 15 minutes, which is completely ridiculous. the order isn't submitted to the location until i get there, so just let me change the location. also, you have all of the information on what deals have been redeemed, so you don't need to prevent me from trying to use the deal when reentering my order. also, do not ever automatically change the location without prompting me to ask if i want it to be changed. this is literally UX 101. finally, change every interface element that is just a text link into a button. "change location" is text only and is extremely difficult to interact with for no reason. other than the things i've mentioned, the app is great. fix this stuff and i will change my rating to 5 stars. and invoice you my consulting fee.

Frustratingly Inaccurate and Inconsistent

I’ve been using the McDonald’s app on various iOS devices for years, and it has consistently caused me problems. No matter the device, account, or location, the app is riddled with issues. For instance, if you pull up a deal at a physical location and then close and reopen the app, it often shows that the deal has been used, even though no purchase was made. This has happened repeatedly over the years, and the managers at the locations never seem to care. They always seem frustrated when I bring up app issues, which I understand, but something needs to be done.
I’ve lost a lot of money by just taking the loss and being understanding with the store staff. Perhaps my biggest mistake was choosing McDonald’s as my go-to for good quality, fast food at decent prices. Post-pandemic, their prices have increased a lot, much like everything else. But it should never be allowed for a McDonald’s location to charge over a $1 for a single hash brown. At my local locations in Oklahoma, a hash can cost upwards of $2-3 after tax if purchased individually…
I love the deals, but I am frustrated with the app. I respect and fall for the marketing, but I can’t stand the lack of customer service. Why is it so frowned upon for a store to give a discount on a large fry if there’s an issue with the app or service? Chick-fil-A does it right, so why can’t McDonald’s?

Expert services with a strong track record in recovering crypto and other lost information.

I recently fall into a big scam from a trading platform called Interactive Brokers LLC trading, Unfortunately for me, I invested 55,000 USD worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 260,000 USD within a couple of weeks. But i didn't realize i was dealing with a scam company, until i tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because i could not afford to let it go.
So i tried all possible means to make sure i recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum where a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptocurrency, funds with the help of tecwizardpro @ gmail. So i file a report and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds within 3hrs i feel indebted to him. Apart from trying to express my gratitude to them once again using this medium, I will recommend anybody who wants to recover scammed bitcoin, stolen cryptocurrency, funds lost to binary options forex, investment and any other form of online scam, reach out to tecwizardpro @ gmail

Prepay and Location Services Cause a LOT of Problems and Unwanted Charges

I have run into the same problem as others. I set a destination location for pickup, make my order but along the way, the app decides I want to order at the place nearest to me. The location thinks I am there and makes the order since I am nearby but I get to the place where I DID order but I cannot cancel the order because the other place already made it. It cannot be cancelled for a refund and McDonald's "support" is pretty unresponsive. This is supposed to be fast food. It costs a damned fortune these days so I am fine waiting until I actually arrive to check in rather than spending money for a meal I do not actually receive because it is miles away and the app does not allow and updated location. In the short term, I have turned off location services. And I will lean towards BK and Wendy's whose apps just work better. Every penny counts these days so I will spend it elsewhere so I can actually get what I ordered where I ordered it.

Update: I got a response from the Developer to uninstall and reinstall. This does not solve the problem that I am out of pocket for a product I did not receive. Why would I trust the app at all if I cannot cancel an order that the app screwed up? Why would I prepay for something I do not know I will receive. It is not huge money, but I should not be on the hook especially these days nor will I trust the app to do things properly.

Not faster than just driving thru

I have yet to find a situation where I go to a McDonald’s and not have to be pulled over and wait for my food. Every McDonald’s I’ve gone to so far and use this mobile app. I am asked to park to the side and wait for some part of my order. The whole reason for downloading this app was so that I didn’t have to stand in line through the drive-through.I think it would be safe to say that most people who use this app are using it because they want their order ready when they get there. They don’t care if their french fries have come out two minutes ago or two seconds ago. But I have watched countless lines of drive-through customers leave and get their orders before me when I’ve placed my order well before they have. And I’ve tried manipulating the times anywhere from five minutes before I’ve gotten into the McDonald’s to 20 minutes before I’ve gotten into the McDonald’s and I still have to wait. The only benefit of this is that when I finally get to the drive-through, I don’t have to actually place the order but the wait time is still longer than everybody else. I’m sure this is a location or restaurant issue not an actual app issue. Maybe the stores need to be trained better on how to use this. I don’t know. All I know is that it’s ridiculous. The amount of times I have to wait. I’m leaving this review while sitting in a waiting area waiting for my food. I’ve now been waiting over five minutes for an order that I placed 15 minutes ago.

THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN ALL METRO ATL!

I frequent McDonald’s almost daily; mostly in the ATL metro area. I order using my mobile app all hours day or night. Because of the frequency and various hours for different locations, I have a solid baseline for the overall staff friendliness and extra efforts put forth (and sometimes lack of). Over the past YEAR, the location on Ponce and THIS location has been almost even , but THIS location constantly pushes onward for the lead- taking 1st place because of the STAFF!
The staff has been consistent as the friendliest and is actually interested in making you feel special whether it’s noticing something about you and paying you a compliment, or asking if you’d like this or that with your order, and going out of their way for any special requests.
I have experienced so many different “extras” I won’t take up MORE of your read time by listing them all- but for a quick example: I ordered a large Caramel Frappe with extra whipped cream; When I got to the window, the staff person confirmed if I indeed wanted extra whipped cream & proceeded to ask if I would like it all on top or split with a layer at the bottom and then the middle and the top. WH WH WHAT???? Never have I been offered a choice. YES!!!!! Omg how much I appreciated that extra little attention -so much I still remember how happy I was (AGAIN) driving away that day.
Ba Da Ba Ba BAH! THIS location: I am luvin it!

Sometimes quicker to just go thru the drive through.

I don’t like how I sometimes only have 2 breakfast deals showing at breakfast, then at lunch (when you can’t order breakfast) several breakfast deals show up. Also hate that some deals can only be used if you order and pay online but not at restaurant. You should be allowed to use them all for both! I hate when I click on a deal in the drive through line then it says I can only use it online. Sometimes I only have cash or many times even when I order o line to sped up the process, it’s slower than going through the drive through. That defeats the purpose doesn’t it?! I’ve seen cars go through the drive through and get their food before me even though o orders and paid before they even places their order, yet they get their food first. A few times I’ve even had to call the restaurant to ask where my food is and this is after I see vehicles go through the drive thru that weren’t even there when I placed and paid for my order! One time, after I called, they finally brought my food. It was in a door dash bag waiting to be picked up while I’m sitting in parking waiting for it! I love the points I earn. But I think it’s unfair that some deals require you to order and pay online in order to use them.

WE ALL ❤️ MickyD’s. Even after the bad, awful, nasty and crazy experiences.

We’ve all seen, heard, experienced all the postives and negatives about McDonalds. However, mcdomalds is here, has so many family, community connections, connivence, opportunity for youth, adults and anyone with an opportunity for earning and learning. I’m just so happy I have so many Micky D’s memories with family whom are no longer here, my own family I created and even the newbies new little babies,Toddlers, fellow neighbors, consumers and many more. It’s not that healthy to eat ALL the time, but it’s affordable, convenient for busy families on game nights, nights after bible study, dance, music, swim, track, weightlifting, dance fit, traffic jams, emergencies or “THE CHEF” the cook of home is sick and has had enough. Kinda, great there are quite a few. I think one within most city limits. Near busy intersections, by schools, hospitals and malls, outlets and more Yup, we see McDonald and a lot of time it’s also a dollar general behind, beside, around the corner etc. SHOOT! Children and seniors love them for sure. GenZ,Y and the millennials ❤️ Mick D too. Now for me, I acknowledge they’re rather tasty and aid in me experiencing a burst of memories when I do eat and enjoy my McDonalds. All
In all thank ya, bye and love ya

Stinks

This app is the worst, and they won’t fix it, despite the fact that they constantly ask for reviews after orders in app. It crashes frequently RIGHT as you’re checking out- conveniently (for them) this robs you of points. They don’t appear on the app, you don’t credit. In addition to that, when you go back into the app, the order is still sitting in the checkout tab- so if you get confused and go back in and check out, it will charge you twice. I’ve had it happen and also never received my refund several times now- reported it- which is a deliberately difficulty process, too- but no response and they never refunded me. I find it interesting that ALL their glitches are things that save them money. Words of advice: enable receipts sent to email, sometimes it’s the only way to know if you were charged in the above scenario. Also you’ll need your mobile order # and this will be on receipt in email. Watch the check out- it often has items sitting in there you will be charged for upon your next use if you don’t hit “remove” in check out. It’s awful- and I feel deliberate. But…here’s what they don’t think about, apparently. I frequently use other apps and do my business elsewhere since getting their app, more often than before. Wendy’s has some great deals and their app works and doesn’t cheat you out of money! So they created a problem that will bite them in the end.
