  • VERY DISAPPOINTED in the App

    I am reading all of the reviews and have the SAME problem. My app worked 3 weeks then QUIT. It would tell me that in Step 3 where you send the info that it was SUCCESSFUL then promptly show NOT READY over and over again. I’ve waited the 1 hour requirement, I’ve waited more than an hour, days etc …

    SAD that something that has such critical data available about your WATER system ISN’T displayed …

  • Cannot get RainSoft unit to connect to the internet

    I have tried with two separate accounts to connect my RainSoft EC5 to my internet with no avail. The app just says. Pending registration for three days now. I can’t delete my account to set up a new one and there is no way to try to connect my system without creating another account. This app is not worth downloading. Just go look at your unit to see what it is doing. I am pretty tech savvy and never had problems like this with setting something up.

  • Be sure to use 2.4 GHz network when setting up

    The app will autofill whichever SSID your phone is on when you initiate the setup process. However, for it to actually work, you need to use a 2.4 GHz network capable SSID if you have separate SSID’s for 5.0 and 2.4 GHz networks. I had to delete the initial account I created that never completed the registration process with my 5.0 GHz SSID and create a new account with a different email to then use my 2.4 GHz only SSID to successfully connect the device using the new account.

  • 2023 Updates - App Much Improved

    The recent updates since spring 2023 have finally taken this app from trash to useful. The connectivity has been pretty consistent since May 2023. It would still disconnect, but only during regeneration. The latest update in September fixed the lost connectivity during regeneration issue. Now the app says “IN REGENERATION” rather than disconnect like it did in the past.

    Hopefully the angry users, that posted all the one star reviews in past years will learn of the improved app and give it another try.

  • No connection to Wi-Fi

    I love the system. The ware softener works well. I have issues with the app not connecting to my phone or iPad. It kind of worked at one time but now nothing. I’ve tried all the manuals recommendations to get the unit connected with no success. Not sure if it is truly the app or the EC5 unit that has the issue. It I’m very dissatisfied with that part of it.

  • Wi-Fi using RainSoft

    Even now after having RainSoft for almost 8 years, the wireless aspect is a”pia”! I would prefer a wired connection since this unit will not stay connected to my extended router just 20 feet away. I’m not paying for a service call when it’s this unit that is incapable of staying connected. Softening aspect which is why we have it is great bu that’s where it stops for me. We pay for this technology but at least for me, it doesn’t work.

  • Wifi connectivity issue

    When I was registering for the app and trying to connect my device to the wifi, it said, “EC5 only works on 2.4 GHz band networks. EC5 will not work with 5 GHz band networks”. I am unwilling to change from my 5 GHz band network. Can you fix this in future app updates?
  • Recent Update is Successful

    The recent update seems to have fixed the connection issue. My system has been connected nonstop for a week straight. It still disconnected during regeneration but came right back online the next morning. RainSoft finally took the users’ pleas to heart and fixed the app. Sad that it took so long, but glad it’s fixed.

  • WiFi connect stopped working

    The panel on the system is the worst piece of touch screen instrumentation I have ever dealt with. Push the buttons and …..nothing. System works well as far as generating soft water and organic free water if you also use the activated charcoal tank system. But the WiFi connect is a piece of crap and does not work. I also had a reverse osmosis system installed in the kitchen and it works fine. Just change the cartridge once a year. So over all the system works well but the WiFi connect is terrible.

  • Does not work

    Customer service is no help. It worked in the beginning but hasn’t for months.
