  • Shameful

    I wonder if we can do a class action lawsuit for them selling a EC5 unit that connects through an app when the app does not work correctly and they have no intention on fixing it. I don’t think they should be allowed to sell us a unit that supposed to have an working app and it does not.
  • Antiquated app

    I do everything by app and this is the only app I DISLIKE! When I first got the water softener system (EV5) the app worked fine, as time went by I noticed it wasn’t working properly. I also noticed there’s NEVER any app updates. It’s antiquated and doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. Why bother having an app! Or get with the times…and improve it

  • Simply doesn’t work

    Had the Rainsoft system installed in May 2022. I downloaded the app and connected to the softener system. Though it was less than straightforward, it did connect and I was able to see a lot of useful information. Then two months later the app wouldn’t connect anymore. Emailed tech support who quickly responded letting me know that their servers are rebooting. Tried for a few more days, still not connecting. I just tried again 6 months after the initial install, my system no longer shows in the app. Tried reconnecting, no luck. Contacted support was told to wait an hour. 3 hours later still not connected. So folks stop wasting your time. This is obviously a poorly supported app. I think it is used a La a marketing gimmick to sell you the system. Making you think you are buying a state-of-the-art system when it doesn’t seem to be. I was foolish enough to pay a premium for Rainsoft. Stick to a simpler, cheaper system that will work just as well.

  • Finally got app to work.

    After fighting with this system for a month, I called my local RainSoft rep and complained. He recommended enabling a 2.4 GHz wifi network.

    Most modern wifi routers support both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. They will likely try to give you the higher frequency network. Your mobile device will prefer 5 GHz, but the RainSoft EC5 cannot run at that frequency. The problem is made worse when routers use the same network name and password for both frequencies.

    I solved the problem by installing a $25 wireless router that only runs 2.4 GHz. You could solve this problem if your router will let you set up the networks with different names (SSIDs) and passwords. You enter the 2.4 GHz network name (SSID) and password in the app and then connect to the EC5 using the EC5 network. Then the app passes the 2.4 GHz network credentials to the EC5 and it can then register properly.

    This could be fixed by RainSoft, or at least documented, in the app in one afternoon.

  • Poor Connection

    The water softener works fine as advertised but the connectivity between the app and the unit is poor.
  • Terrible

    Hardly a smart system. App disconnects if you simply look at it wrong and it’s a PIA to reconnect. This time I think it’s totally dead. If I waited I could have gone with a local company. Lousy system.
  • App is awful

    This app constantly disconnects from the softener, which is actually connected to the Wi-Fi. It has NEVER notified me of salt levels, regeneration, etc. when it was connected.
  • RAINSOFT Rewind App intermittently works

    This app has to be updated for it continuously to stop functioning. I’m writing to the developer please fix your app when it does work it worked great. I like to monitor my water softener. There is a lot people that have this app to monitor their softener are very disappointed with it. This should be a priority for you to fix it. Thank you in advance Scott E. Redmond Sr.

  • White screen

    Recently the app just shows a white screen after it starts immediately. Non functional for more than a week continuously now.
