Scotland trip

Hello,
Initially I was very happy with the efficiency of the email confirmation prior to leaving the US for our recent 10 day Scotland vacation from Aug19-30. However, on Aug. 19, our plane was delayed at a layover stop in Dublin, and this delayed our arrival at the Edinburgh airport. Our Minicab driver arrived in time at the Edinburgh airport and texted me of his arrival. I quickly told him what happened (texted) and wanted to reschedule the cab time for 11:30. He told me to call or email Minicab, he couldn’t help me. I had an International phone plan but still could not reach Minicab. We finally took a bus to Edinburgh but I had a large suitcase and it was a total struggle. On Aug 30 our Minicab driver arrived early (7am) per our request. I asked the Hotel Bonham staff to call Minicab and Mcab changed our pickup time to 7 am. Overall, in believe this frustrating experience could be avoided if Minicab provided travelers with an easy toll free number to call (no emails!) if their flights are changed mid trip. Thank you.

Visiting from USA

I am visiting for a week while also picking up my son who has been here for 3 months. I easily downloaded the app, entered a bit of my info, and was quickly making a reservation for him. Although I was in Glasgow and he in Strathaven, the cab picked him up and delivered him to Hamilton Central with no problems.

No response to correct pick up and time

Travelling to England within 24 hrs. Spent most of today trying to make contact via phone & email even live chat to correct their mistake re pre paid round trip pick up. NO REPONSE toanything.

Terrible customer service! They didn’t even respond to Expedia who I have pre paid this with. BEWARE! Hope somehow I do t ha e to spend my short trip to a family event is t spent chasing down my ride back to the airport.

Immediately charged my card and then cancelled!

They charged my card and then the outsourced taxi company immediately cancelled booking. When I contacted customer service They told me the refund will come in a few days! and if I don’t get it to call my bank! Seriously? How about delete the app and then call my bank. How can you charge for something that you don’t control and then make the customer have to gravel for it. Worst idea!

Too bad

This just doesn’t work. Booked a return trip for a wedding of my good friend. The system has only booked a RETURN trip tagging it “inbound”. The confirmation sms stated correct details so I wasn’t even aware of the failure. So now I’m terribly late riding Uber at last. The app still shows both trips, however the correct data is on the website.

Very user friendly, easy

Abandoned twice in one day

I hired a taxi through minicabit for a one day trip to Scotland. Because I'm from the US, my phone doesn't work over here, which is why I booked a cab in advance- I knew I needed a way back to my hotel. The first cab took us to the airport, we got on the flight, went to Scotland, and nothing... the cab to take us into the city center wasn't there. We found another taxi, I received an email asking how the service was, and when I complained, Minicabit offered me £5 off my next fare. The only problem is, by the time I got that email, they had abandoned me a second time in the same day.

My driver to take us from the airport back to the hotel never showed. There is one place to exit at that time of night, and nobody was there. We went to the area where you hire taxis, which is right by the meet and greet. Nobody there. We looked outside. Nobody there. We actually split up so that we could keep an eye on all three at once.

Remember how I said my phone doesn't work here? The company claims they held a sign for me. There was nobody holding a sign, but they did send an email that I never got. Because of that email, to date, Minicabit is not refunding my money. And I couldn't get the email because wifi was maxed out for the day.

I understand they want to keep their drivers happy or they won't be able to book anyone. However, they did so at the cost of a customer. Being left at the airport with literally nobody in sight TWICE in one day is the worst customer service I've ever had. So fine, one American tourist and her kids is no big deal. I hope this business fails because of bad practices like this.

Great taxi and cab app

This app is great for those in need of a taxi or cab when they're in London. It's fantastic and convenient for everyone!

Virtually a scam.

I was heading to an unfamiliar address in London with a lot of bags and didn't want to take the bus. I downloaded the app and used it to hail a taxi. After I agreed to the terms, the app informed me that I would have a 50 minute wait for pickup but could cancel it in the next 5 minutes. I did so and received an email that my card would be charged since the terms of the app require that you cancel a ride more than an hour before pickup. How absurd! Do yourself a favour and get Uber.
