  • Not much content & further purchases required for more

Decent app but I finished the first course in 2 days without much effort and if you want more you have to pay. Was expecting something more comprehensive for the money.
  • Great app, expected more content for the price.

Nice app, although I expected more for the price. I have to echo some of the other reviews: crashing into a second paywall so early was disappointing and unexpected...

Personally I’d have preferred to pay a couple £’s more upfront.
  • Highly underrated app

I think this app is one of the best in the App Store for music theory. I don’t usually comment or give ratings ever, but I just have to make people more aware. I feel that they took a lot of time to make the videos and the games they have to make sure that you actually understand and memorize the lesson all together. I have looked at many videos on music theory and the circle of fifth and I feel that this is the most understanding way that it has been broken down to me. How you can’t continue the lesson unless you’ve reached a certain quota is perfect. The way the lessons are broken down into 5-6 minute videos is great for someone like me who loses his attention too easily. It always kept me coming back and wanting to learn more. The only problem I can see coming from the app is that maybe main hub screen is a little boring and can make you think that you aren’t gonna have fun while learning but I was really surprised when I started watching the first video. I hope to see more lessons in the future from this app!

  • Buyer beware - carefully read course content

I purchased this based on a recommendation. I found it helpful until I discovered the app cost only covered one lesson, and another lesson would be another $4.99. Content is limited for the price.

Edit: to rephrase the criticism, I knew the additional lesson would be an additional fee. My criticism is aimed at the volume of content in the lesson. Not worth $4.99 and I am definitely not purchasing the additional lesson. I find other apps offer significantly more value for the cost.

  • its rlly good but its annoying how after we’ve paid we have to pay again for course 2

everything about the app is amazing: the video features, interactive features, development of stages but not everything is great.

after paying for the app i was disappointed how i had to pay extra for course 2. If you were gonna make us pay again after paying for the app you might as well just add it to the overall price of the app so we dont have to worry about such things.

i, as an aspiring songwriter, would like to start composing songs as soon as possible rather than wait for a paycheck so i can buy one course. Such business is inefficient.

    Developer Response

Hey, thanks for the review and kind words about Waay! It's laid out in the App Store description that users get the full first course with purchase of the app (8 video lessons, 9 interactive exercises) and that the second course is available as an in-app purchase. I'm sorry this came as a surprise—that was certainly not the intent! I'm actually looking at other ways to do the pricing in future and will definitely take your feedback into account. Thanks again and please don't hesitate to get in touch at alex[at]tenkettles[dot]com if you have any more feedback or questions about Waay. -Alex
  • Amazing app

    Worth every penny
  • The key that finally opened the door

I struggled for YEARS with music theory, everyone kept raving about how simple it is, and I always felt confused and stubborn with anything regarding music theory. However I owe everything to this app for finally unlocking the door, it explained everything easily and effortlessly and now I’m able to learn even more theory after using this as my building block. If you still don’t understand or get frustrated do not give up! I even deleted this app from my phone for a year, came back and now I’m finally understanding of music theory. Thank you to the creators of this app!

  • What you are looking for!!!

I’ve tried a few before- there is no other theory app out there like this. It’s terrific. Useful for mature kids and adults alike. Simple and well explained. Get it!!
  • Great for beginners

Am a DJ and want to produce. This is a great tool to learn some basic theory. Brilliantly constructed, makes you want to learn and has taught me lots in very little time.
  • Gate Way To Notes

In 3 Days I learned about Notes and Scales. The quizzes drove me crazy like a relentless teacher that wanted to make sure I knew my notes and scales. I like the most how every quiz is different, even if you try to start the quiz over.
