Nice app but could use some improvements
Overall, I enjoy Agoda but their filters could be improved. Even when I select hotel as a filter, I often get hostels and backpack her type accommodations. Also, it would be nice to be able to filter when selecting for two guests to only show rooms that have a single bed. Also on two occasions I have booked a hotel only to get an email a few minutes later canceling because someone else booked it before me. Lastly… it would be useful if hotels were required to provide information such as the size of the room, if there is a view/window and also if the bed is soft or firm. I also find too much clutter with all the coupons and deals but when I go to them, they are often not available or expired.

Fraud and unsafe
I was recently traveling to Jaipur with a friend. Upon arriving at the hotel where we had booked a room, we discovered that no rooms were available—even though our booking was confirmed. They had given our room to someone else and offered us a "standard" room instead of the "classic" one we had booked; this room lacked both basic amenities and privacy. There were no facilities whatsoever—no towels, no drinking water, nothing. The hotel staff was terrible; no one listened to our complaints, and they were argumentative. To make matters worse, we were charged an extra ₹220 for that awful room. There was a huge hole in the bathroom door, making it impossible to rest safely. The biggest issue is that Agoda accepts bookings for such hotels, yet despite numerous complaints, no action is taken, and there is no proper response from customer support. It has been a terrible experience; this has happened to us twice in the last three days. Sometimes a hotel shuts down without informing us, and other times we encounter hotels and staff who refuse to honor a confirmed booking or charge extra for a substandard room—and Agoda offers no explanation for any of this.
