It seems very easy to use but I am not able to disarm without the panel arming it’s self automatically and the company was not able to help me disarm. Now I have to have a technician come and see what the heck!
Way too slow and freezes constantly
The app is frustrating - there’s such a long lag and it takes forever to do anything on the app and it’s freezing all the time
Getting worse.
We’ve had this system for 4 years now, and there’s always been bugs with it. The website is faster than the app - I don’t know why, but whatever. My issues are growing with the app now. The issue La have been growing for the last year to the point now I feel leaving a review is my last effort to maybe get the app crew to sit up and take better notice. We’ve had the local security team reach out to alarm.com a few times about these problems but nothing seems to be better at all. Problems include, but are not limited to: no sound through the cameras, increased loading times (first on one or two cameras, but now on a lot more, even prioritized ones) 3 second time outs after the camera finally connects, recording late (with recording rules) or not capturing footage at all, not always disarming when the keypad is used for entry in the AM, cameras not keeping their history when you go to replay a past event… the intermittent issues are just as annoying.

Auto Alarm
I can’t find the auto alarm feature on the app.
Nothing works
Avoid adt/alarm.com like the plague it is, equipment doesn’t work properly, cameras take 5 minutes or more to display a picture after notification, promised features aren’t even available and customer service is nonexistent, they have promised repeatedly to call back and fix this but never didy
Confusing
I’ve repeatedly set a schedule for my air conditioning only to find that the the thermostat doesn’t follow through with the command. My other controls for the instruments I have around my house keep losing connection.
Not helpful
Have had kids egg our home and was not detected by video can’t playback video on app. Had to buy other security devices

APPLE WATCH APP
The app shows screens on the IWATCH to control the system which is a great idea. But the app dev forgot to include a watch face “complication” icon to open the ALARM.com screen without having to search thru multiple apps to get there.
UPDATE AUG2026 Watch complication icon not visible on watch face. Tried update, and restart both watch and phone. Just shows dash place holder, tho it does open alarm control watch screen.

Confusion
Difficulty finding temporary silencing of camera alerts

The latest updates for July/August ‘26 are not good. It is impossible to clear old notices that aren’t current (like a camera not responding) and it deleted all stored video clips without asking. They’ve implemented an annoying useless AI activity surveillance thing that is by default activated and sends alerts about the stupidest things. “Your front door was locked at a different time than usual!” - No it wasn’t, and who cares if it was? And lastly the new selection method for reviewing/removing clips is worse than the previous method - it’s hard to see what is selected and not. I don’t understand why they changed it? It was working fine before.

MFA - Mobile Number
Cannot setup new MFA for mobile after several unsuccessful attempts, just left it as disabled. Update. All the damn codes finally started rolling in.
UNRELIABLE
Does not work half the time. The app continually has errors and we can’t disarm or arm our alarm. Several times we had to wait 30 minutes to open a door to leave because the app and panel would not disarm.
System issues
Anyone else have issues with the app and the actual system? It’s been awful for us. WILL NOT be renewing the system. And then the fee to have the technician come out and assist!? WHAT A JOKE! I should have stayed with my ring doorbell if i wanted to do everything by myself… not impressed ..
Update has made it glitchy
The new update has made this pure trash. Glitches won’t open. Half the time freezes.
Used to be flawless. Now it’s totally useless. The other day I had to set the alarm off to go into the house because of this stupid app

Constant issues with cameras not recording
Inconsistent
Continually get cannot connect or cannot confirm actions when using app. All devices work fine from panel. We never know if we can lock or unlock our doors or if we can control the garage door from app. The service has gotten really bad over the last year. User codes will not update when changed from app either. Very unhappy with service.
Garage door controls will not update position of door
Water control valve stopped updating position also.
All firmware updates have been downloaded.
Every firmware update creates more problems with system .
Tech support can only tell me that there is a firmware update coming in future but not when.
