What's New in Athlytic

26.5.5

August 19, 2026

New: Running Splits have been added during a workout on the watch app and on the summary (all splits, previously the app just showed the most recent split time). Added a setting to choose whether the Workouts tab opens to Progress or History by default. Added new manual Journal Tags for Commuting, Beta Blocker, and GLP-1 Medicine. Added a new Share Card that features Calories Burned. Improvements: Added Google Health as a Preferred Sleep Tracker in settings. Athlytic Age: every marker now shows where you sit on its scale, and your biggest lever is highlighted in the list. Improved card customization so hidden categories stay hidden after switching tabs or reopening the app. The Apple Intelligence summary for a workout has been improved. Improved Ask Athlytic’s answers about Training Adaptation and overtraining risk. Improved Apple Watch settings sync to keep Recovery, HR zones, Sleep, Battery, and related Watch metrics aligned with the paired iPhone. Bug Fixes: Fixed a HealthKit crash affecting some iOS 27 beta users when workout heart rate data was enabled. Fixed an issue where naps might be incorrectly shown as awake time on the Sleep Stages chart. Fixed an issue where Blood Oxygen health alerts could show an incorrect 1% value in the notification text. Fixed Lock Screen Exertion widgets sometimes resetting to 0 when the iPhone was locked. Fixed an issue where the Energy Burned Pace chart could overlap off the card. Follow Us IG: @athlytic_app Reddit: r/AthlyticAppOfficial X: @athlytic_app Thanks! Gary

Leaving

It used to be a great app and saved me from buying WHOOP but since upgraded to iPhone 17 pro and updated Athlytic to the latest version it crumbled; no updated data about recovery, sleep, exertion etc. Not reading workouts or showing trends so it lost its glory. Not for me anymore 👋

Best health app

I’ve used Athlytic since I got my Apple Watch several years ago. Gives very accurate data and suggestions based on that data.

A godsend during my recovery from pneumonia

I discovered a completely different use for Athlytic: recovering from pneumonia!

ChatGPT suggested Athlytic to me when I was trying to figure out how to safely manage my activity while recovering. What I expected to be a fitness app became an incredibly helpful tool throughout my seven-week recovery.

The Exertion score was particularly valuable. I could literally watch it climb while I was doing what seemed like very little—walking the dog, doing a few things around the house, or other normal daily activities. It helped me understand that even though something felt minimal, my recovering body was still working hard. That made it much easier for me to recognize when I had done enough and needed to rest.

I also loved watching my Recovery and Battery scores and trends. Over time, they gave me another way to see that I really was improving, even when the progress felt frustratingly slow.

Seven weeks later, I finally woke up feeling like myself again—and Athlytic showed a 100% Recovery score and 100 Battery. It was wonderful to have the way I felt and the data finally saying the same thing!

Athlytic has been a godsend during my recovery. I came to it because of ChatGPT, and I’ve learned how useful it can be not only for deciding when to push—but, just as importantly, when not to.

And now that I’m finally feeling like myself again, I’m looking forward to using Athlytic for its more traditional purpose—getting back to cycling and running! 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Why the change in Athlytic age

I have been a long time paid member. The app used to be 5 stars until you made the change to the Athlytic age and took away the slider bars for the bottom half. That really helped with my goals because of that I’m giving this app 3 stars. Please fix that.
