The worst

Drivers will cancel rides as you walk up to the car. In all my travels never seen such a terrible ride sharing company and very surprising for a country as beautiful and nice as Portugal

Uber in Paris

It works and pricing seems to be more predictable, even though I did encounter a surge pricing.

Fast service

Scammers

“Hi there, that sounds like a very unpleasant experience, especially with the waiting fee situation. Please contact our Support team through ☰ Account > Support and select the affected trip, and our team will review what happened and help you resolve it. We are here to make things right!” This is the response from them even tho I contacted the app and still refusing a refund DO NOT USE they don’t care about there customers

Fraud pricing

Used to be a good service. No more. App devs have become greedy algorithmic pricing fraudsters. The prices are all fake and then you must “prioritise” for more money or you’ll never be matched a driver. Garbage.

Edit reply: I’m not talking snot me price mismatch after the fact, but how Bolt won’t match the rider with a driver at the advertised price. You must pay for priority or opt into a higher fare than advertised to try a ride. Do it once?…your profile is locked into your behavior that you’re willing to do it.

Bolt is not an equal-access ride share app like it used to be. You must pay more than advertised to get a ride—this is why the prices seem so low, you don’t really register that you’re paying much more than you originally agreed to.

FINAL UPDATE: So, with all of the trackers, it seems Bolt admit that they are using your personal information to scam the most money out of you as possible instead of being an equal access ride share app. Think the priority access increases the fare payment to the driver? I highly doubt that. I’ve tried to match at the same time as my partner for the same ride and we get wildly different results.

Here’s the thing. We’ve both fully deleted our accounts, not just the app. There is no more Bolt in our future. Just like I don’t have Uber. I cannot give my business to such unethical practices. Turns out I can get around just fine without it, better even some Bolt became so unreliable these days.

Overcharge

I had originally paid a total amount of $30 to get home from the usual spot I always get my bolt.

The driver picked me up and took me home. He changed the route when it got down to 2 minutes left to get home, I’m not sure why but he did.

As soon as I got out the car the extra charge was about $120. I’m wondering why and how. Im not paying the extra amount because that’s not what it showed when I already paid for it.

Unauthorized transactions

They don't check if credit card belongs to the user correctly. Should have better security. After trip to Europe I see a lot of unauthorized transactions, but I never used Bolt

Bad Bolt Experience

My first experience using the app was incredibly bad.

The driver (Emmanuel who drove a Black Tesla Model 3) was rude! Firstly, he was initially in the correct place but then he drove away and went to another location. I did not tell him to go to another location, he simply went because he wanted to, presumably to charge me with a waiting fee.

Secondly, when he finally came back to the right place, Emmanuel DROVE AWAY as soon as he saw my dog and he cancelled the ride. I ordered a pet ride; my dog was on her way to the vet because she is sick and this guy drove away because he did not want to get his car dirty. My dog could have been dying and he really just left because he cared more about his Tesla. I was left standing in the middle of the street with my dog and I had to order another ride, which took 15 minutes to arrive. If he did not want a dog in his car, then why did he accept a pet ride?

Please help me to resolve this issue because this was my first time using Bolt and the customer service was horrible!

UPDATE: When the cancellation occurred, it simply said that the ride was cancelled and the driver did not provide me with an actual reason. This was probably because he had no reason, other than the fact that he did not want a dog in his car, even though he accepted a pet ride. I have already made a report about this experience through the app and I expect this driver to be held responsible for his actions.
