Absolute trash

Since they completely overhauled the app over the summer, this app has become absolute trash. It isn’t user friendly at all - purchasing a ticket involves more shuffling between options. The live updates of buses is utterly useless unless the app is tracking “ghost” buses, which stop and depart without any of the living/breathing passengers. I’ve lived in this city for 10 years with an app that remained relatively unchanged in its interface and concept, which wasn’t great, but it got the job done. Now it’s almost completely unusable. I guess that’s Berlin for you - throw a bunch of money at “improving” something only to make it 10x worse than before. Way to go, guys.

*October 2025 Update: while the app has improved, I have to say, it’s still pretty stupid, esp since you can’t simply check the departure times at a particular spot. Instead, you have to input a route before BVG decides which way is best for getting there, whether it is or not is another matter. Why can’t I just see the departing times for trains/buses at a stop, and decide for myself which way to go? Your app isn’t effective enough on its own to determine the most optimal route, so maybe until you get to that point, you could simply report departing/arriving times at a spot, unless prompted for your misguided advice re: how to get to a certain place.

10 years behind

The exact locations of bus stops and metro entrances isn’t shown. Often it claims to show live updates from buses that never arrive. On iOS I’m forced to enter my phone password every time just to check a route. Just very clumsy and clunky for an app and full of Denglisch.

Response from developer

Thanks for your… enthusiastic feedback! We admit, our 'summer makeover.' isnt over jet. As for the ghost buses, we promise we’re not summoning the supernatural—it’s a bug we’re working to exorcise ASAP. Your patience would mean the world while we make this app less ‘Berlin-chaos’ and more ‘Berlin-efficiency.’ Thanks for sticking with us through the shuffle! October 2025 Update: Hey, thank you for your feedback. You can customise your connection search by using the filter settings (filter symbole). You can add intermediate stops or select which means of transportation you would like to use, for example. As for the departure times: On the start screen you have the large map of the surrounding area with all the stops and lines in the proximity. If you now click on a nearby stop, a pop-up will open with the lines that depart from this stop. You can drag this upwards. Alternatively, you can click on the icon at the front of the list of recently searched or saved stops to open the same view.

Confusing UI and Wouldn’t Auth Account

Looks like it functions, the maps are hectic though and at one just shifted me over to open street maps website.

But the bigger thing is that no matter how many times I got it to send me a confirm account link that I clicked it just didn’t work so I couldn’t buy tickets.

Amateurs!!!

Can’t change „from“ location while in transit! It will keep updating to current location!! Who’s the sadist that designed this app? Who’s the QA? Honestly, reconsider
