Worst app ever.

Never works, has to close and re open each time I want to use. Run !

Faulty App

Logs not properly loading and none connection barely works when trying to change pin.

drains battery

God forbid you forget to close this app, it drains battery so bad!! Even with bluetooth off it is CONSTANTLY tracking your location in the background. I also wish it had an apple wallet setup to use it without having to open your phone

Come on

The app is buggy, and it’s 2026, can we please get some Apple Watch support, hell even car play, I’m getting dinged by my insurance for using my phone to open the gate.

Recent firmware update dangerous

Latest firmware update causes lock not to work. Lock gets stuck unlocking. This is extremely dangerous and got locked out. I live at Camden foothills. This company should just be replaced with HomeKit keys

Crashes immediately

I can’t even access my apartment or anything because the app immediately crashes. How tf is this even allowed on the App Store???

The worst app I have ever been forced to use.

This app is genuinely one of the most poorly executed systems I’ve been forced to use.

It does not reliably track basic door activity—who is entering, when it’s being unlocked, or what method is used. For something tied directly to building security, that failure is not a small bug, it’s a fundamental breakdown. It removes any sense of trust or safety the system is supposed to provide.

The loading time is absurd. There is no justification for an access app that moves this slowly. Sitting through splash screens and delays just to perform a basic entry function is infuriating and completely impractical. It turns something essential into an unnecessary obstacle.

The design is chaotic and unintuitive. Nothing is placed where you expect it to be, and even simple actions feel buried or inconsistent. On top of that, the connectivity is unreliable—dropping, failing to sync, or requiring Bluetooth in a way that makes the system feel half-functional and poorly engineered.

Overall, this feels like a product that was rushed out without proper testing in real-world conditions. It does not meet even the most basic expectations for a secure building access tool. For something that residents depend on daily, the level of unreliability is unacceptable and honestly embarrassing.

Delete account

I want to delete my account and there’s no easy to do so! I only download it bc I was forced to do an apartment tour. How can this be done. I don’t need this app at all

What’s the point?

Cumbersome system that adds very little value compared to much simpler ones. Not worth all the inconvenience and troubles. For example, driving back home and wanting to enter the garage, must stop the car, pull out the phone, open the app, scroll to the garage row, select it, then select open, then put the phone down and drive in. How is that easier than a fob or a license plate reader??? Any guest or delivery person will have to download the app and deal with its counterintuitive complexities. There are valid reasons for all these negative ratings, and much more practical alternatives. Note how the screenshots provided here only show a single access point; which apartment building would have only one door that needs access control? This is technology for the sake of technology. And let’s not even go into the permissions the app requires and the privacy issues that come with that.

Has Potential (Updated)

Update:
Had to remove a star- it’s been about two years and the lack of support of the app is terrible. The old widget never came back (worst decision ever), but the app seems to work more inconsistently than ever?? I have turned more and more features off due to their continued and worsening inconsistency. It’s such a shame that the team behind this seemly doesn’t care to actually finish the product.

Original Review:
I will go ahead and get my two biggest complaints out of the way.

The first one and currently the most annoying is something another reviewer has mentioned. The drop in support of the old widget that could open doors without opening the app. This widget was by far the most useful part of this app and for them to drop support makes zero sense. I don’t know if it’s because of the new version of iOS being out, but it needs to be fixed ASAP.

My second complaint lies in the inconsistency of the spaceship feature. The idea of this is really cool and when it works, it’s great. The problem is it only works …. sometimes- and as much as I would like to keep this feature on, it is a big battery drain. I would happily take on the battery drain if it worked closer to 90% of the time, but as it stands right now this feature just feels incomplete.

As for the rest of the app, it is actually quite good. I know a lot of people seem to have a lot of connection issues, but I for one am able to connect to pretty much anything when using the app around that 90% of the time. I do agree with other reviewers that communities should still offer an actual fob option Instead of this being the only one due to how unpolished the app is.

I can truly see the potential behind this app and they have made great strides, but it seems as though it has been and not many things have improved my only hope is that the developers are looking at the feedback and make adjustments to the key features That we as consumers care the most about.

Day 1 of asking Chirp to make a widget

Day 1 of asking Chirp to make a widget

Needs CarPlay and Shortcuts support

It’s a pain to open a gate when you have to fumble around for your phone, open the app and wait for it to load, then find the right gate to open in favorites. Chirp desperately needs CarPlay or Shortcuts to make this easier.

Battery drain

Drains the battery on my one month old iPhone 17 to unlock doors automatically.

Rarely works

I wish my building didn’t make us use this app. It’s highly unreliable. Also, as another reviewer said, it drains your battery.
We need to stop thinking that relying on your phone for everything is “the wave of the future” or convenient. Doesn’t seem like anyone is invested in making this app usable.

It’s really buggy on iOS26

Noticing that the app will crash 4/5 times when trying to unlock my door. The other 1/5 it can’t find the door I’m standing directly in front of. Not only that but my door logs don’t update. For example I know my partner arrived home from the ring camera view but the logs don’t indicate that opening.

Considering I’ve been concerned about my family’s safety due to my apartment facilities management team leaving the door unlocked previously, I need to know when and how my door was opened and this isn’t a reliable feature.

3 years later still Awful

Still gotta constantly force close and reopen the app to get the phone to sense the lock that the phone is touching or else you’ll just be standing around for an eternity. Most of the time I just have to scroll through my buildings long list of doors and manually press the button on the app to get it to open. I wish we never got rid of FOBS as this app is always buggy and slow and doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to most of the time. Fobs are way faster and way more convenient but this is a rental so I’m stuck using this garbage. The fact that associations invested in this is sad. Coming home is the worst part of my day thanks to this.

Poorly designed

As other users have said, the app is buggy. But the layout is also dumb. The one thing I do with this app every day is open my front door. So why is the button to open the front door buried in a menu? It takes two taps to get to the button that opens my front door. That button should be front and center, or at least I should be able to add it to the list of favorites.

This app would also benefit from CarPlay and Apple Watch support. I have to get my phone out of my pocket to open the gate to the parking garage. If I go for a run, I can’t just go with my Apple Watch, I have to bring my phone, too, to get back in to my apartment.

Please add to apple CarPlay

Honestly I only use it for the security gate. It doesn’t always work for my front door. My biggest thing though is can you please add chirp to apple car play so I can open my gate without getting my phone out? My car insurance monitors my phone activity for cheaper rates and I get dinged every single time for “using my phone” when I just need to open the gate.

App Crashes

The app keeps crashing when I try and unlock my patio and front door. It has been doing this for months and there hasn’t been any changes. I’ll report this to our IT department in the apartment complex.

Nope

Two stars is generous. This app shorts out so often, and it’s always when you have a line of cars behind you trying to get into your garage. If I found out my apartment was getting a new access system tomorrow I’d be excited.
