FAQ

What does Connect Torrance do?

Connect Torrance offers an on-demand, shared transit service that revolutionizes local travel. It dynamically adjusts routes and pick-up locations based on real-time demand, providing a safe, flexible, reliable, and affordable alternative to traditional public transit.

How does the on-demand feature work?

Through a user-friendly mobile app, riders can request rides at their convenience by specifying their location and destination. The system intelligently matches multiple passengers with similar routes, optimizing vehicle use and reducing individual trips. You can book rides at any time and be picked up from the curb.

Is Connect Torrance free to use?

The app itself is free to download and use for booking rides. However, there are in-app purchases for the actual ride fares. The service is designed to be affordable, often more economical than traditional ride-hailing services.

What are the benefits of using Connect Torrance?

Key benefits include on-demand convenience, shared mobility that lowers costs, dynamic route optimization for efficiency, and an eco-friendly solution that reduces emissions. It also serves as a bridge for the 'first mile' and 'last mile' needs, integrating with existing public transit.

Who is Connect Torrance for?

This service is ideal for residents and commuters in Torrance looking for a more flexible, affordable, and environmentally conscious way to get around town. It's particularly useful for reaching areas not easily accessible by fixed-route buses.
