Issues With App While Traveling
I’m surprised that as a multi-billion dollar corporation, that your app cannot function outside of the United States or with a VPN for a customer. Do you guys not beta test your app and website for functionality and operational diligence?
While on vacation, I needed to pay a bill and it proved impossible online. I finally give up and just called overseas back to the United States on a foreign cell phone. And even then it took forever to navigate to a real person. Truly disappointed. Duke Energy, do better please.

You do not have my permission to share our data. Couldn’t pay my online bill without pressing continue which indicated ok to use my info! I revoke my permission! So how do I pay my bill next time?
OUC v Duke Energy
OUC gives you 3 months to pay if you fall behind. Duke shut me off when my bill said I can pay Aug 6th. I am a senior citizen, disabled veteran. I needed to have my Glp-1 refrigerated. I had 13 weeks that went bad. No to mention that I had to sleep on the cement outside. I will file a complaint with the Power Commission

Duke Energy is awful! Raising cost and adding deposit amounts over $600 to one’s account is robbery. Duke power energy is not a bank nor a savings account. I have had an account for over 20 years and they want to add hundreds of dollars to my account because of a few half late payments when still getting paid on a monthly. Is complete and total fraud and awful company. Not to mention how they dispose of the ash waste. No consideration for our environment.

App and Convenience Great - Company Ethics Not So Much
Shutting off people’s power after only a month of no payments, without any notification by email, phone call, or attempt to reach out is WILD, super messed up, and I have never had that happen to me and my family.
Payment was thought to have been made and your department made no efforts to make notice power shut off was being threatened.

I reported the outage and within an hour they came out to fix the line. Very nice and very polite guys who worked very hard in the heat and humidity to get my power back on. I have nothing but respect for these guys and what they do.
