App is clunky/crashes

I really like the exercises, but unfortunately, the app is quite clunky to use. I just opened up a workout program and the videos have no sound - you can see the trainer talking but no sound. And skipping or navigating exercises to personalize the program isn’t working, the app freezes and reverts back to the exercise I am trying to skip.

This app was game changing!

I was struggling to get back into a fitness routine post c section with my first. The E&E app helped bring structure and confidence to my workouts. I did the post c section strength training, which included scar desensitization and mobilization. I could do the workouts from home or the gym, which was a huge plus. I also did the 12 week return to running program, which got me to a 10k at 9 months PP. A casual runner before using the app, it helped me think about my form and mixing speed and endurance in new ways. Highly recommend this app, I’ll definitely be using it for my next pregnancy and PP season!

The Best!

This is the best thing I did for myself in pregnancy/postpartum. Cannot recommend enough!

LOVE this app!

I’ve been using this app since Fall 2022 in my first pregnancy, and have continued to use it throughout postpartum, my second pregnancy, and now second postpartum experience. I love the strength training workouts— they are all just about 30 minutes. I have also loved the return to running program. It builds me up not only physically but mentally! 5/5.

Overall good pregnancy workout app

Have been using the app for several weeks in second trimester and am glad to have found it. Solid exercises with clear guidance and visuals. I just wish there were more modifications offered. What causal pregnant exerciser has a door anchor?! Not necessary, there are plenty of modifications possible with resistance bands but they’re not offered. Also a lot of jumping, which isn’t comfortable for lots of preggos. On the whole though I recommend, hope they can make some of these simple tweaks to make it even better!

Works outs are great! App has some small glitches.

I appreciate the exercises and that they feel thought out and intentional to prepare my body for pregnancy, labor, and birth. I feel confident in their safety and effectiveness based on the developers’ experience as well as consult of other physiology/training experts I have consulted. This was even recommended to me by one. It begins with higher intensity which I appreciate as an athlete but transitions into slower movements with less/no jumping as the weeks progress. It is of course up to each mama to determine what her body can handle at a give time but I appreciate that it does still offer a challenging workout. Additionally, it forces me to focus on aspects I won’t normally like breath work which is essential to pelvic floor health.
The app does have some glitches such as certain videos having trouble or but for me it is worth the trade off knowing I’m getting quality workouts.

Not pregnancy safe

My first week using the app, they had me doing burpees, mountain climbers, and ab moves that aren’t pregnancy safe. The modifications were not much better. I regret completing these exercises without consulting a professional when I felt the moves weren’t the safest.

Fantastic pregnancy workout app

I have loved the Expecting and Empowered App. As an avid runner who usually dislikes strength and flexibility training, this app was a great tool to diversify my workouts while at the same time having peace of mind about the impact of my exercise on my pregnancy. The variety of routines and ease with which I have been able to do them at home or while traveling with the help of easy/inexpensive equipment has been great.

Exactly What I Needed

After giving birth to my son, I was uncertain how to get back into exercising safely. At the recommendation of my midwife, I downloaded this app 6 weeks postpartum and have been working my way through the week by week strength and core workouts. They provide the guidance I was looking for and meet me where I am.

No Chromecast/Airplay Support

It’s 2025, you guys need to be using native sdks to enable casting from a phone to a tv.

Great workouts!

I was in the fence about buying the app, but I’m SO glad I did! I usually use Peloton and Beachbody but didn’t want to think about how to modify later in pregnancy. The workouts are easy to follow and take around 30 minutes. I workout from home so I had most of the equipment already so if you don’t work out from home make sure to look through equipment you need. I’m also looking forward to a specific postpartum program as well.

Super glitchy. Not for experienced weightlifters, more for casual exercisers

I’m currently in the trial period, but this app is so glitchy it is super frustrating. It skips exercises every single time or gets stuck in a loop with one of the circuits. I have to take screenshots or remember what was missed by memory. Force quitting the app doesn’t resolve it either.

As for the programming, I appreciate the stretches and core work but the strength training portion which they label “circuit” is not for experienced weightlifters. It does feel like programming for women who take hiit classes a few times a week/ exercise casually (and don’t understand much about (programming) OR are time poor/ hate exercise and want to do it in as little time as possible.

Note: Due to the quick circuit nature, I would suggest those who don’t much about exercise science to choose low weights because you will be doing a ton of reps OR, you can do what I did and lift your normal weights and just take 1-1.5 min breaks between sets and pause the program.

Overall I do think it is a fair price for the amount of content you get and how PT focused it is for those who can’t spare more than 30-40 mins. The strength part of the program just isn’t really created for experienced lifters/ athletes.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAM

I first started using this for postpartum recovery after my first baby. I did the pregnancy work outs all the way up to 37 weeks with twins! It saved my back and made my c-section recovery so much more manageable. I’m almost done with the postpartum program again and I can not praise this program enough. I tell all my friends entering motherhood about this app. Truly it keeps me motivated and makes it feel like I’m strengthening my body in a safe way!

Couldn’t love it more

I started using their app at 8 weeks postpartum for strength training. Their workouts a manageable yet challenging and can be done in about 20 minutes which, as a mom, is fantastic. I love their strength training and that you can listen to your own music while doing them. What sets this apart, in my opinion, from other pregnancy/postpartum workout programs is that they have a whole 12 week program devoted to safely getting you back into running postpartum. Their return to running program was honestly life changing for me. It reignited my love for running and did it in a way where I didn’t feel overwhelmed and most importantly didn’t get any type of injury. I continued on to their running workouts that come after the 12 week program and they’re just as great. I just finished my first half marathon 10 months postpartum thanks to the foundation of strength training I built postpartum with them and then guiding me safely to return to running. I’m done having kids but I don’t see a reason to use any other app for workouts moving forward because they have everything you could need.

This app kept me in shape for easier postpartum recovery

I play a contact sport competitively and when I couldn’t do that during pregnancy, this app helped me a ton. I stayed in shape felt strong and good about my body and after I gave birth my recovery went super smooth 10 out of 10.

Simplify the App

I honestly didn’t subscribe because it’s not user friendly and had to sign in so many times to subscribe to a plan. If it was more seamless I would have

Feeling my best postpartum!

I cannot say enough good things about this app! I originally heard about it at the beginning of my pregnancy in a YouTube video, and loved the pregnancy workouts. I almost didn’t renew the app for another year because I thought I wouldn’t use it a ton Postpartum, but I was so wrong. After expected C-section, the recovery and strength programs specifically tailored for C-section has given me so much encouragement and empowerment to be connected to my body again. Now that I’ve finished the postpartum program, I’m starting the return to running program and am so excited since I haven’t run since being pregnant and have always struggled with injuries. Everything that the creators and developers do is so thoughtful. Love the podcast and Instagram as well!

Life saver

I’ve used the app since it was launched (and the guides before) and it’s amazing! If you have a pregnancy or baby, do your mama self a favor and get this app. I just had my 5th kiddo and the postpartum guide is a game changer. As a nurse midwife, I recommend all my mamas do PT and this app if they can to build strength and recover their pelvic floor. Your 70-80 year old self (and bladder) will thank you!!

Love Love Love

I loved this app during my pregnancy, wish I had had it for my previous pregnancies. Great workout programs that were easy to add to my day. This was my 4th pregnancy and when I was evaluated by my pelvic floor PT she was so surprised how little diastasis I had postpartum! She said it was the best she has seen for 4 babies! Was less than my previous pregnancies! I attribute this to their program. I have been enjoying their postpartum program as well!
