Deposit errors & useless customer service
Every time i try deposit money I receive an error message telling me to contact customer support so I did, only for them to tell me they don’t know, so I emailed them only for them tell me to contact the same customer support number they could not help me in the first place!

Anyone doing a class action lawsuit against these criminals?
This is nothing but a high dollar money scam. To add $10 it cost an additional $5.28 and goes up from there. As if the money scam wasn’t bad enough now I just caught them actually stealing packages to be added on these tablets. I noticed I didn’t receive an email with my receipt. I asked my loved one if they had received the tablet package and the answer was no. I spent the next 4 days on the phone with GTL being told to wait and then told the package had been added, still no receipt in my email mind you. I asked my loved one again and still nothing had been added. They were trying to say they added it and my loved one was lying when they couldn’t provide me with a receipt of what they did with my money. My bank records show they took it but they can’t show me where they put it. And “trust us” is what I get told. A million dollar corporation can’t give a receipt for money they took. So yes, I am looking for some kind of class action lawsuit against gtl. They make enough money off of us without stealing yet now they have to steal as well.

When it works it’s fine, but is very frustrating when it doesn’t.
Compose your messages in a separate word processor and then copy/paste into GettingOut. Because I’m lazy sometimes I don’t do this. So occasionally when I go to send the message it will say “Message exceeds body character limit,” and then deletes the entire message. There is no way to save drafts. Extremely frustrating.

This app needs to be replaced immediately with something that actually works,this app has no problem taking your money but I have a friend who thinks I abandoned her because this app stopped working and will not let me message back,the verification process seems simple but it’s not working and will not verify I’ve tried making a new account and also had a friend make one as well and still no resolution this has to be the worst app ever made

Bad App
This app sucks. Sometimes it works but usually it doesn't. I get a whole message typed and hit send and my message disappears and I have to start all over but I've given up as the 2nd time it does the same thing.

no sound no notification
doesn’t notify when you get a message and i have to close the app and “restart” so i can see the new message also doesn’t even make sound alert when i get a text .
Expensive Fees for an App that barely works!
I almost never leave app reviews, but this experience has been frustrating enough that I felt I needed to. It is already expensive just to add money to your account, with processing fees before you can even pay for messages, photos, phone calls, or video visits. For what this service costs, the app should work consistently.
The app and website often display completely different information. The website will show messages as Approved, while the app still says Pending. The app also cuts off message previews that are fully visible on the website. As a customer, you have no idea which version is actually correct.
This service is used by people trying to stay connected with incarcerated family members and friends. Communication is already stressful enough without wondering whether your message was delivered because the app can’t stay synchronized with its own website.
Charging premium fees while providing an app with inconsistent statuses, incomplete information, and unreliable syncing is unacceptable. Please invest in improving the app so customers can trust what they’re seeing.
