Wow….

Everytime i log in the screen goes blank and does not move, and then if i close the app and reopen it takes me back to the login screen. So i am currently with out any use of my phone because i cant activate my eSIM through any other way than using this broken app:) 10/10 genius from them..i check the website and their suggestion is delete the app and reinstall (great tech advice, if your washing machine is broken just kick it a couple times and it will work kind of vibe) so i do that.. but guess what? Yep still not letting me log in lol. I have missed things i need to do as i now dont have access to my number how amazing.

Long time customer

Been with giffgaff a good few years and the service has worked well for me except a couple of weeks hiccups when it all went tits up and I couldn’t get anything on the phone. Eventually sorted it by contacting them on wife’s phone! All back to normal! Suits me being able to change as I seen fit.

WORST PHONE PLAN AVOID AT ALL COST GET VOXI INSTEAD

You probably look at Giffgaff and wonder how they keep their phone plans so cheap, and it is through incredibly predatory termination contract. I’ve had this ongoing issue with Giffgaff I get paid on the 19th. I pay for my phone plan on the 19th yet it renews on the 18th every single month. Given it’s the day before I get paid, I have no money. I’ve tried to solve this before, but I found it incredibly hard to contact a member of staff. You can either chat to AI leave a voicemail where you have to state your; full name, email number and username and reason for calling all under One minute. Or tap through an entire questionnaire only to be given a tiny box to send a message to a member of staff that will then reply in 5 Working days. So after all of that, I decided that I would no longer continue to buy what this company was selling. I pay £15 per month for unlimited data. The termination cost is basically £70. Must have kept that hidden in the fine print. Anyways, you can get a phone plan from Voxi mobile for £15 unlimited social media 140 GB and you can cancel your contract any time free of charge. Also all the bounced payments have negatively impacted my credit score once again I tried to talk to somebody about this. But all I got was AI. Voxi also has an AI however if you ask it to connect you with a person it immediately does. So you know this company actually cares for customer satisfaction. Trust me, Voxy is everything giffgaff tries to be.

AWFUL!!!!

I pay a plan that provides travel data and I’m currently abroad left with no ability to contact, I used hotspot to try sort the issue but the only way to get help is AI?? Ridiculous, it was so unhelpful and changed nothing. I’m still abroad and am struggling without the data I PAY FOR.

Avoid GiffGaff at All Costs – Absolute Nightmare, Misleading Offers, and Zero Service!

I am writing this review to warn everyone against using GiffGaff. This has been hands-down the worst experience I have ever had with a UK mobile provider.
When I first activated my SIM, I selected a £20 monthly deal that included unlimited calls, texts, and data. I chose to pay via voucher as prompted during setup. I entered the voucher code, and the system confirmed it was successful. However, without any clear warning, GiffGaff did NOT activate the actual package—instead, it automatically converted my money into standard pay-as-you-go credit and enabled a service that drained my balance. The internet worked fine for two hours, and then suddenly I received a text stating my entire £20 balance was gone!
Thinking it might have been a system confusion, I decided to give them another chance. I topped up another £20 and bought an 80GB plan (which was already misleading, as it should have been 100GB). This is where the real nightmare began:
In the exact same spot in my room where the pay-as-you-go data was lightning fast just hours earlier, my internet completely died as soon as the plan was purchased. It didn't just slow down—it stopped working entirely. Now, I literally have to step outside my home just to send a single text message! It feels like a total scam: fast speed when they are draining your cash balance, but terrible service the moment you buy a monthly plan.
I am currently waiting for this 80GB month to end so I can physically snap this SIM card in half and throw it in the trash. Save yourself the stress and mental headache: do not use GiffGaff. Literally any other network in the UK is better than this.

So badly

Terrible service everywhere, shady business tactics, service is decent while you do a rolling plan and becomes awful as soon as you switch to contract

Need to update to top up

Guys just make your app backwards compatible. Needing to update a basic web front end “app” to see my allowance and top up is peak “poor design and implantation just to hack off our customers”. Don’t respond your words are as meaningless as your service.

Buy cautiously in non-British areas .

And the balance will not be refunded.

Forcibly shut down the service and refused to issue a refund.

Service terminated without warning, balance not refunded

Very disappointing experience. I purchased a giffgaff SIM card recently, but during this period the SIM was mostly switched off and there was no long-term roaming usage as claimed.

Despite this, giffgaff suddenly terminated my service without any proper warning and refused to refund the remaining balance. If there are restrictions on overseas usage, they should be clearly communicated before taking payment, not used as a reason to cancel the service and keep customers’ money.

Cheap prices do not justify poor customer protection. The lack of transparency and customer support has completely damaged my trust in giffgaff. I would not recommend this service to others.

WARNING: They ban you to keep your money!

Do not download this app or use their service. giffgaff is no longer a telecom provider; it operates like a meticulously planned scam company designed to seize users' pre-paid balances.

They have numerous victims worldwide, especially targeting East Asian users who need an international SIM card but lack local channels to appeal. The company’s tactic is disgusting: they quietly lure international users in, allow you to top up your balance, and then abruptly ban your account citing vague "TOS (Terms of Service) violations" regarding roaming.

The real scam isn't the account ban itself, but the fact that they use this as an excuse to forcefully swallow your unspent airtime credit and refuse any refunds. They are literally stealing pre-paid money with automated templates.

If you are an international user, STAY AWAY. They will take your money, cut off your service without warning, and keep your balance. Absolute daylight robbery!
