Good luck transferring
I recently tried to transfer my phone number to a new device on google fi. The number was correctly deactivated on my old device but I was completely unable to activate it on the new one. Even more frustrating, I couldn’t reactivate it on the old device either, leaving me with no way to restore service. Google Fi support has been polite, but ultimately unhelpful in resolving the issue. Ive now been without the ability to receive calls or texts for several days. This outage has locked me out of critical accounts that need for both work and personal matters, many of which rely on SMS verification or two factor authentication.
This has been an incredibly disruptive and stressful experience. Google Fi needs to fix their device transfer process so customers aren’t left without service for days.

Coverage is terrible, Never use Google Fi
1. Premium plan does not provide the international coverage as promised. 2. Difficult to cancel the service due to its terrible coverage. 3. Unreasonable billings
Absolutely not
I have had GoogleFi for 9 months now. Everyone said this was the best carrier while deployed. This is NOT, most carriers work well overseas now. First when first connecting to googlefi was a hassle and you mainly had to deal with automated messages and when you do finally get someone their accent is so heavy you can barely understand each other. Then while deployed in a warzone, I was getting charged ridiculous amounts. They advertise free calls to the US but apparently it’s only from certain countries because for one month, only one line, I was charged almost $400. And the following bills were never below $200. I heavily regret switching to GoogleFi and I will steer people clear from every going with GoogleFi. Also when you are ready to cancel, they will cut service but warn you that it’ll take 60 days to process and you will be charged accordingly. So be prepared for that. As if they didn’t screw me over enough, they have to screw you one last time. Do not use this service if you value your money.

Ugly app: it doesn’t let me use!!!
I’m using a physical SIM card iPhone 16, but this ugly app doesn’t support physical SIM cards for iPhone 16. So I changed to iPhone 12, and downloaded an old version of this app. When I open it, it forces me to update but that’s already the highest version available. The worst thing is Google sets it in a brute force way that if you don’t update you cannot use it!!!! But it cannot be updated!!!!

Disaster switch after 35 easy years with AT&T
Switched because of cost and living in US and Europe. Everything has been difficult but the worst is the ridiculous support. First one told me to change a setting which disconnected us. 3 or 4 other useless ones. Last was chat who asked me to turn phone off and on. I told her I was worried I would lose her. She said the chat would pop right back up after restart. Of course it didn’t. Terrible and still not working. They say it takes 20 minutes and status says switch was successful but nothing is working. Now a supervisor claimed it would take 24 hours, it has been 22.5. Crazy, I am probably switching back to AT&T. I need a working phone!
