Lousy app lousy company

We had been with Healthpaws for 15 years but just cancelled after they tried to increase our premium by 48%. I’m pretty sure they purposely make their app incredibly hard to use in order to make it harder to make a successful claim.

Two factor sign in every time???

Changing to one star.

You have to sign in every time you open the app with two factor authentication. Totally ruins the point of having an app instead of the website.

Been great but broke

I have used the app for years but when I went in this morning to access something, it literally would not log me in. Tried email code about 4 or 5 times and once code was entered, it just hung up. I tried texting code, never got it. I tried phone call and when I went to say call me it was greyed out. I finally just opened the website and was able to get logged into my account. Please fix the app!

Bait-and-switch on senior pet owners

I have been a paying customer with Healthy Paws for nine years since my dog was a puppy. Now that he is 9 years old and needs coverage the most, they have continuously increased my monthly premium (now over $100/mo) while automatically downgrading my coverage from 80% to 70% and doubling my deductible to $500. Raising prices while cutting coverage on loyal customers with aging pets is terrible business. Buyers beware once your pet reaches senior age.

Lousy

This is the worst app. They did not observe how other apps work and how individuals naturally think and use key strokes. I end up hitting cancel when I want to continue. Additionally, I need to sign in to see my claim statement via multiple steps including validating my account on repeat. There is a lot of room for improvement, but this entire company has gone down hill. They were amazing when I joined 10 years ago, but cutting the amount I can get refunded because my dog is old and now cheaping out on an app, is frustrating.

Impossible to log in

For what they charge monthly one would think they have the funds for reasonable infrastructure.

Terrible Sign In + Rate Increases

I get irrationally angry every time I have to open this app and deal with this company.

If your dog isn’t old and sick yet, cancel your coverage while you can.

Why did you downgrade the sign in process and take away Face ID? It feels intentional, especially coupled with the downgraded coverage and increased premiums for older pets. Now every time I have to open a browser and verify via text. Every single time. Very long and tedious. Extremely frustrating UI. The buttons are backwards, and I always end up cancelling and having to start over.

If my dog wasn’t old and sick, I would drop this garbage company like a hot potato. There are no protections like people have for pre-existing conditions, so they know you’re stuck with them. They also do not cover exam fees, which will run into the hundreds, don’t count towards the deductible, and the way they do the “math” to calculate the reimbursement is backwards and in their favor to nickel and dime you at every chance they get. Constant denials and appeals.

Overpriced

Cost high and you get little
What started at $35 a month has gone up to $210 a month and I have had almost no claims except for medication. And even that became restricted. Go elsewhere for insurance!

Will Never Recommend Them

I am absolutely disgusted by Healthy Paws’ recent policy changes for pets over 7 years old. After being a loyal customer for more than 10 years, I never expected the company to effectively reduce coverage just when senior pets are most likely to need it.

Healthy Paws has downgraded reimbursement rates and more than doubled deductibles for older pets, leaving long-time customers with significantly worse coverage despite years of faithfully paying premiums. Many of us purchased pet insurance specifically to protect our pets as they age, yet Healthy Paws appears to be changing the rules once pets reach the stage of life where coverage matters most.

What makes this especially frustrating is that existing customers are essentially trapped. After years with the company, switching insurers often isn’t a realistic option because of pre-existing condition exclusions. Healthy Paws knows this and still chose to reduce the value of coverage for senior pets. Numerous pet owners have reported similar changes affecting pets aged 7 and older at renewal.

This is a terrible way to treat customers who have supported your company for a decade or more. Loyalty clearly means nothing when corporate profits are put ahead of the people and pets who trusted you.

I can no longer recommend Healthy Paws to anyone considering pet insurance. If you’re shopping for coverage, pay close attention to what can happen when your pet gets older—because that’s when you find out what kind of company you’re really dealing with.

I sleep better knowing I have Healthy Paws for my Boy!

I have been very pleased with this insurance. We did a lot of comparing companies and Healthy Pets was the best in our estimation. The customer service is wonderful and they can explain any questions not answered here. I would advise anyone looking for pet insurance to check out Healthy Paws.

App never works

Whoever designed the app did a poor job. Trying to login and it constantly crashes.

Asked to authenticate by sending a confirmation code to my phobe number. Says I need to type in my phonr number but you can’t click into the form and the keyboard won’t show. Other options error out. Can’t even login.

Login sucks

App sucks now because of this new Chubb login.

Update killed app

Most recent update has killed the app. It loops from sign in to authorize to sign in screen. Unable to submit receipts without access. Needs to be fixed immediately.

Claims keep disappearing

Claims keep disappearing

Worst Update Ever!

I cannot get into my account, I go through authentication and it never completes! It’s completely useless! Please fix this ASAP

Login process broken

Please go back to easier log in process. Now you have to do multiple steps then the log in times out with a fetch error so you have to start over with all the steps again. I’ve never received so many verification codes!

Please fix the log in

I’ve never had a problem filing a claim, the app is easy to use. But this latest update makes it a pain in the butt to log in every time. No more Face ID. I’m ok with the multi factor authentication but make it easier!

New multi factor authentication sucks

Please go back to how the app worked before this recent update, where we could set a passkey like faceID and log in within seconds. Having to get a texted or emailed link every. Single. Time. We. Log. In. IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS!! I swear, you guys do whatever it takes to make it more difficult, more time consuming, and more frustrating to seek reimbursement. This is some shady stuff and along with your ridiculous rate hikes just further confirms I will never use your coverage again with future pets.

New update sucks

Why did it go from signing in via facial recognition to now signing in w email and password. This is backwards - fix it asap!

Feels like they made the app difficult to use

There were already many UI improvements to be made, but the latest 2 factor is atrocious.

1. The confirm and cancel buttons are swapped, so you’re likely to press the wrong button and have to start over. Confirmation is usually on the right side.

2. Why is there a webpage that opens and you have to 2-factor every time? It’s annoying. If we must 2-factor, it should be built into the app.

3. You should be able to view the claims/invoices you submitted

4. There’s no process for appeals, there’s no way to track appeals processes. What?
