If I could give zero stars, I would

I have now been forced out of the old app. I can no longer access my family business account easily. This is terrible, ING. Give me access back to the old app or fix this one. The new app is ugly. I hate it. Why on earth would a major bank reduce the functionality of an internet banking app?! Do you want to lose customers?! Because you’re losing me.

Some features don’t work

Some features don’t work when on a VPN which is a worry because it means overseas access is at risk.

But I shouldn’t need to be testing your app! You shouldn’t be releasing this untested and using customers as testers. Poor form.

And again stop telling me about the interest rate change. I don’t care!

Bring back the old app

This new app is very dull looking to start with. Prefer the old ones! An update is meant to be an upgrade but this ones seems a downgrade. Unhappy!

A sad upgrade :(

I loved my ING app. Everything worked the way I needed it to. It was efficient and things made sense. The new app is not horrid, but it is inconvenient. Not being able to see my account balance at time of transaction is irking me. When you transfer from a saving maximiser account it will only list as “savings maximiser” in your transactions list and not as the title you’ve changed it to (ie. “Bills” or “Holiday”) - meaning all transfers listed have no distinct difference and you can only determine which is which by account number. Transferring between accounts and making payments seems harder than the old app - I don’t believe it is, but changing that process even in the slightest, has proven difficult. I can’t imagine our beautiful oldies having to deal with this app change, especially if I’m struggling. I miss the quick glance on the Home Screen, I miss the orange background, I miss the widget that got removed and may be returning but we haven’t seen an update about yet, it just doesn’t feel right yet. Give me 6 months and I’ll do another review but I’m struggling to see the benefits so far outside transaction notifications.

Ugh

OK you’ve closed the old app for me now. I’m off to another bank. Shame, but read the room, ING!

Old app was better

My login security screen blocks numbers because it isn’t formatted for different screen sizes properly - not everyone owns a giant phone!!!!

There is way less transaction details than the old app. You used to be able to look at the transaction list and it would show balances before and after transactions. It was good and you made it work worse for what?

Way to force people to move from a perfectly good banking app to one that leaves you wanting the features we used to have?

It’s 2026!!

Your new app is horrible!! Fire the designer and start again. Go back to the legacy account.

Moving to Macquarie

This new app is cooked - I cannot believe the bank isn’t fixing this urgently 🤣 must be bleeding customers

Horrible design

The whole point of mobile banking app is that you can manage your accounts. I have a business account and a personal account now through this app. Only I can manage one. Both accounts are under different names. I cannot even switch between accounts the only way to access to accounts to delete an app and then reinstall and then use the client number. I don’t know what they were thinking while designing

Disappointing

The new layout is TERRIBLE.

Old app better

Don’t like how it doesn’t show updated total account balances for each transaction. This was displayed in the old app which is missing from the new one. Please reinstate.

Best update for ING BANKING

The update makes it so easy navigate between any tools accounts also understanding what has gone wrong and what hasn’t so I really support this new update hundred percent keep it up ING full support ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why

Forced to change to this when the other app did everything i needed, i left it till now because of all the horrible reviews and can now understand why and I’ve barely even used it but its jumbled all my accounts and removed all the account names, very inconvenient

Why

Why waste your money making an app worse than the old one ?????????

Awful

I was caught out in a situation where I needed to transfer between accounts and the app closed down. I couldn’t just log back in. I had to set it up from scratch, twice! If it happens again, I’m switching back to Westpac. Their app is so easy to use and follow.

GIVE ME BACK THE OLD APP

The new app sucks in all aspects

App passcode login

The app passcode login is way to high up now it was better before when it was much lower recommend fixing it back to the way it was

Can’t log in

I have tried so many times to login. It forces me to reset my code but then the button to confirm right at the end does not work. I go in a loop and this has been happening for months. Now I’m locked out of both apps.

Style over substance

Old app is better simply because it is more functional. Nice to have notifications - I now know when my pay hits my account. But many very basic functions that the old app had (for example, and as other reviews have mentioned, the running balance that the old app displays next to each transaction) are sorely missed. The ability to view account balances without having to log in is gone. Scheduled payments are no longer displayed according to the date of the next scheduled payment - they are now displayed according to the date when the payment was first scheduled. As someone who relies on scheduled payments from their ING accounts for their fortnightly budgeting, this is incredibly frustrating and inconvenient - I need to be able to see when scheduled payments are due to take place next; the past date on which I first scheduled the payment is pretty irrelevant to me. Ability to message customer service is gone - if you navigate to the help page, it provides only the phone number and no other method of contact. I kept the old app installed and I find myself continuing to use the old app for these reasons, while receiving notifications from the new one.
To other reviewers who have wondered why “money was spent” on a new app that is worse: ING Australia spent precisely $0 on this app. This is the app that ING provides to European users (search up ING apps for other countries and look at the printscreens in the AppStore listings. It is this app that you see). They are trying to save $ by having one app for every market, therefore one app development team instead of multiple teams for separate markets. Unfortunately for them, consumers value different things in different markets and have different expectations/priorities.
Having been locked out of the old app, another very frustrating feature is that pending transactions made with a VISA debit card do not show while pending. Along with the absence of a running balance, this makes reconciliation extraordinarily difficult. I am really considering leaving ING, after more than twenty years of banking with them. These are such basic features that are lacking, and I don’t appreciate being locked out of the old app while many users have not even been asked to download the new one yet and are able to continue using it without issue. Very disappointing. Thank God for Macquarie - the interest rate may be 0.5% less, but the app is good and there are zero conditions to meet to earn the highest rate.

One Giant Leap Backwards

This version is a downgrade from previous versions. Basic features like being able to see your balances without having to log in are gone and I can’t even see my transactions on my phone because the page won’t even scroll! Whoever is responsible for this should be fired.
